Review: I have a mortgage through Universal American Mortgage Company of California. I recently had a loss of income, and inquired into the assistance of the Hardest Hit Fund. In California, this mortgage fund assistance is called Keep Your Home, California. I called the program, and started through the interview process. During the process, I was informed that my lender was not participating in the program. I was also informed that I could not participate unless my lender participates. I have spent a week trying to contact some one at [redacted] regarding this Federal program. No one at this mortgage company in the Loss & Mitigation Depart. knows anything about this Federal Mortgage assistance program, and gave me the run around. [redacted] is contracted by Universal American Mortgage to collect mortgages. I finally spoke with [redacted], who located a person named Lisa who's supposed to be a liaison for Universal American Mortgage Company of California, and [redacted]. He stated that she submitted an application for Universal American Mortgage Company of California, and [redacted] to participate in the Keep Your Home California Federal program. He stated that [redacted] were waiting on Chase Bank. I'm not sure what these lenders has to do with Chase Bank. He also stated he found an error in the paper work that was submitted to the program. I have spoken to representatives at the Keep Your Home California mortgage assistance program, and they're disputing this claim. They state they're aware of [redacted], and Universal American Mortgage Company of California only because of all the calls they have received from home owners wanting to participate in their program. They state that these lenders are not participating.194 mortgage lenders are currently participating in this program in Ca. except for Universal American Mortgage, and [redacted]. I have tried to follow up with Mr. [redacted] but he has not responded.Desired Settlement: Is for [redacted] mortgage, and Universal American Mortgage Company of Ca. to participate in the Federal Program Keep Your Home California so that I, and all of their customers (home owners) in California can participate in the Federal Program's mortgage assistance which was created by the U.S. Department of Treasury in 2010. Both mortgage companies have to participate because the mortgage payments are sent to [redacted] on behalf of Universal American Mortgage Company of Ca.

Universal American Mortgage Co. of CA is in the process of becoming a participant in the program mentioned by Ms. [redacted] in her complaint. Ms. [redacted]’s request is the sole request we have received to participate. We have been working towards becoming an approved entity for several months and it appears the process is nearing completion.

I have spoken with Ms. [redacted] this week , as well communicated via e-mail with her.
