Review: Purchased a 1 year/13 issue magazine subscription (Wine Enthusiast)on July 15, 2013 via a door to door magazine salesman ([redacted] for $50. Magazine has still not arrived. I have copies of all receipts from Universal Global Stars LLC.Desired Settlement: I would either like to have the subscription activated and to begin receiving my magazine or a refund of my $50.

Review: On August 25, 2013 a nice young man came to our door on behalf of Universal Global Stars, LLC to sell magazines. We paid by check for [redacted] magazine. The receipt we received stated that we should allow 90 to 120 days for delivery. At this time - almost one year later - our money is gone and we have not received the magazine that was ordered and paid for. I have sent letters to the company with no response.Desired Settlement: $[redacted]

Regards,

Review: Ordered product on April 2 with a 90-120 day delivery. Has been over that time and no product. Have tried to call 6 times, with no response. Tried at Bank to reverse charges, tried with police dept. to file fraud. Tried with Riverton City, young lady had city license around her neck, but they had never heard of Universal Global. Young lady was full of sob story and I agreed to order one magazine, then after I have the check book she says that I have to do 3 years worth.Desired Settlement: Would like a full refund including process and handling fees.

Response:

I did receive a refund for the full amount. I assumed it was due to your help.

Either way I am glad to have the money back and to have the Revdex.com to turn to.

Thank you

Review: I ordered magazines in August of 2013 for Delivery in December of 2013 as Christmas Gifts. The magazines never arrived. After months of getting the run around a refund check #[redacted] Dated 11/14/14 was issued. for $[redacted]. When I deposited the check it bounced. I have continued to contact Global Stars and when I talk to someone (which is very rare) they continually tell me the accounting person is out and they will get back with me. This has NEVER occured.Desired Settlement: Money order for $[redacted] + [redacted] for bounced check

Review: I purchased a magazine subscription on August 20th, 2014.for "[redacted]" from [redacted], who was selling door-to-door for Universal Global Stars LLC. To date, no magazines have arrived. It's gone way beyond the 90 to 120 days that they said it might take. I have tried calling the phone number that he provided. (Several times.) They either do not answer, or immediately hang up the phone. (Over and over.)Desired Settlement: I just want my money back. It was $**.**

I placed an order on 7/13/12 through Universal Global Stars after a young woman came knocking on my door in the blistering heat. After stroking a check for a shocking $135 (for a magazine, book & game book) she went on her way & I realized she'd added an actual game to my invoice that I hadn't requested so I had to chase her down & get my check back, have her correct the invoice & I gave her a new check for $103. Right then & there I knew something wasn't right &, in hindsight, I wish I'd just canceled the whole thing! The invoice said to allow 90-120 days for delivery. Seemed a ridiculously long time but I waited...& my son waited for his game magazine...patiently, at first, & then not so patiently. But I waited the full 120 days before contacting the number on the invoice. I explained it had been over 120 days & I hadn't received my items. He looked up my receipt number & told me my order was in processing & should be delivered within 2 weeks. So I waited another 2 weeks, still nothing, so I called again & he tried to give me the same story. I told him it had now been 144 days & that the receipt said I was entitled to delivery or a full refund & that I wanted a refund. He told me I'd need to fill out one of the pink copies of the receipt & mail it to them in Ohio. So on 12/4/12 I mailed them the pink copy with a delivery confirmation receipt. They received my request on 12/10/12. I then waited until 1/3/13 before calling them again to find out when I might expect my refund & I was told the refund check would be mailed out 1/18/13. SURPRISINGLY(!) by 1/25/13 I still hadn't received a check so I, once again, called & was told my check was being mailed that very same day (what a coincidence!). I told the man (the same man I'd spoken to each time I called) that every time I called I'd been out off to a later date & he "apologized" & said it was his fault that there'd been a misunderstanding on the date but that the check was to be mailed out that day, 1/25/13. So I asked him, then I should definitely have the refund check before next Friday since it's only coming from Ohio, and he assured me that I would...it's now Thursday night 1/31/13 & I do not have a refund check. It has been 202 days since I placed my order & all I have to show for it is NEGATIVE $103 & a lot of wasted time! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! They are crooks who prey on people's kindness! I doubt I'll ever get my money back but it was a lesson learned...an expensive lesson!

A pretty young lady around 25 years old came to our door. She spoke of spirituality and implied I was in an expensive neighborhood. She was wearing more expensive clothes than I own but spoke of a hole in her tooth, a 5 year daughter and spoke of wanting to own a truck like one she saw on our street. She spoke of "Boy's Life" and "Back Pack" and one other children's magazine. "Boy's Life" costs $24.00 a year and "Back Pack" costs $12.00 a year. For 3 prescriptions for one year and after talking for over 20 minutes she then presented me a total of $349.00 for the 3 magazines. I asked her what just "Back Pack" would cost for a year and she said $102.00. I was stunned and gave her the check. I then ran down our street where she was going door to door and got the check back and shredded it. I then looked at the complaints on this site and looked up the actual prices of the magazines. We adopted a son whom she met briefly and then told me she was also a foster child which I now know was a lie in addition to the scam. She had an ID card hanging around her neck. Her receipts were old fashioned and everything had to be written out. The list of magazines looked quite worn. This company is NOT accredited with the Revdex.com. The young lady also spoke of getting commission and she had to sell 3 magazines per person so that "some day she would see $1000.00 in her bank account.

Never received magazines. No matter how many times I called could never get my 75.00 back. They always told me the check was in its way. Poor kids that sell their stuff have no clue.

Review: A young lady came to the door selling magazines. I usually refuse to buy this way but she told me it was a program that would help her in getting education/job to support herself and son. I ordered 3 magazines for the exorbitant price of $112.00. Their receipt states if delivery isn't made within 120 days I am entitled to a refund. I have not received anything. After several calls I finally spoke to Marie who said she would call the next day to let me know when the check would be sent. Not surprisingly , she never called. That was over a month ago. This is a scam.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund check in the amount of $112.00

Review: In September 30th of 2014 we order some books, they Guaranteed delivery within 120 days, after 120 days I reached out to the company requesting a refund. I heard nothing back, I filed a complaint with you the Revdex.com. You were able to get in touch with the company, they asked if I would wait a bit longer, we have, still no books, no refund and no response when I called. I would like to get our money back.Desired Settlement: My money is refunded this has gone on long enough

Review: Purchased 3 magazine subscriptions from a girl traveling door to door. Check was issued for payment on 1/17/13. I was informed there would be a processing delay of 3 months prior to delivery. 9 months later, the processing delay continues and we have yet to see a magazine delivered.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for services / products not provided.

Review: A salesman came to my door to sell magazine subscriptions over 6 months ago now, and the publications have never started. This was a check I wrote at the time of sale for $147. I have a reference number of #9143. I need a refund or my magazine subscriptions to begin immediately.Desired Settlement: I need a phone call explaining why this service has not been delivered and when to expect a refund.

A young man came to my door selling magazines on 11/4/14. He was pleasant but very fast talking and rather aggressive. I truly wanted to be pleasant myself and move things along so I agreed to order a Christian magazine which was listed at $12.95 but cost me $40.00. I wrote a check and have heard nothing since. I guess I have also just made a "donation " to this organization! I would like to know how I can get this matter resolved. The sales person's name was Gerald B[redacted] (or so he said). I have a receipt with a customer service # 330-788-1816 for Universal Global Stars LLC 4049 Hilman Way, Boardman OH 44512.

A very personable, articulate young woman came to my door soliciting magazine subscriptions for children's shelters. I normally don't donate or buy from anyone who comes to the door, but she had a compelling story of self-improvement and helping other young people. Unfortunately, the website address she gave me is non-existent, which leads me to believe that the company is non-existent as well.
