Universal Inspection Services Reviews (4)

At the beginning of Ms***’s service call she was insistent on not paying for service before our technician was finished with his diagnosisShe called the office and wanted to argue because her problem at the time was a clogged air return at her filter- causing air restriction and for the system to overheatThis was a simple fix and that seemed to be the reason behind her not wanting to pay because it was unavoidable.Ms [redacted] repeatedly called the office to argue and in each discussion she had still not replaced her furnace filterAdditional phone calls were made to us and she was advised to change her filter and reduce the settings on her system as they were set to an excessive temperature that would cause further problemsHer furnace was maintaining her desired (and very high) temperatures. Our minimum service call fee is $and that is all that was due and paid at time of service. With the repeated (excessively) and mostly aggressive phone calls it was decided that we would not be returning to Ms***’s homeWe proactively let her home warranty company know that they should provide another company that she may be happier with since she was not happy with us from the start

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The company is not being truthfulYes, I was upset because I felt I was being scammed*** the woman I spoke with was so rude and unprofessionalThat was never mentioned but Josh states I called aggressively? Its clear this company will not take accountability for their unprofessional-ism and being untruthful about what I was told from ***, was to call back once filter was replacedShe continued to be rude and was no help and then refused to come back out after she said they wouldTHIS COMPANY NEEDS A F RATING!

JM MechanicalProvident DriveWest Chester, OH 45246In response to the homeowner’s complaint and concerns,We did service the customer’s home October and most of his statements are correct except for the fact that we only install contractor grade thermostats, not commercial In regards to
our pricing, his wife agreed to our pricing which is very competitive as most companies charge more than the $that we charge for the very same thermostat In regards to communication- his wife emailed our technician in response to the invoice emailed to her It specifically says in our emailed invoices to “please call the office with any questions.” Our technicians do not correspond via email (for this specific reason) and all concerns should be directed to the office The homeowner called and left a voicemail after hours on Saturday, October and we promptly returned his call Monday morning, which is when the Revdex.com complaint was submitted When the homeowner returned my phone call Monday morning, we had a pleasant conversation where I explained to the him that we do not purchase any parts off of *** (they are not the same quality or grade) as we can not warranty them and our price on that thermostat was indeed $and total cost to the consumer is $with installation Without going into many specifics about business economics there is more cost involved than just the price of the thermostat, which he claims we “markup” exponentially I was very transparent about our cost There is gas, business licenses, labor, multiple insurances, and any tools/materials involved just for that technician to appear at his home The homeowner understood (it seemed) and I offered to schedule a return visit and reclaim our thermostat and give him a full refund except a $service call/diagnostic fee He declined my offer (which I thought was reasonable), thanked me for returning his call and said we were not welcome at his home.We buy wholesale parts from a dealer where we are guaranteed the product quality and warranty exchange for years on thermostats Again, our prices are extremely competitive and fall below most competitors if not all of them I personally called two competitors and found their prices to be $and $292, I encourage the homeowners to the same There are many reasons small businesses charge what they do in order to support employees and keep operating It’s not customary in any retail or service industry to make a purchase or agree to service, find it cheaper elsewhere and try to negotiate price with the original seller because you feel “cheated” We provide a service and no pressure sales The problem was addressed, that was the price, it was agreed to and that was the end of it. It’s grey to me whether or not this complaint was submitted before or after my discussion with the homeowner We offered a resolution for his dissatisfaction and he declined At this point, I’m not quite sure what else we can do to satisfy the homeowner Our offer still stands through the end of November if they wish for us to return for the thermostat.Thank you for your time. to overheat. This was a simple fix and that seemed to be the reason behind her not wanting to pay because it was unavoidable.Ms. [redacted] repeatedly called the office to argue and in each discussion she had still not replaced her furnace filter. Additional phone calls were made to us and she was advised to change her filter and reduce the settings on her system as they were set to an excessive temperature that would cause further problems. Her furnace was maintaining her desired (and very high) temperatures. Our minimum service call fee is $80.00 and that is all that was due and paid at time of service. With the repeated (excessively) and mostly aggressive phone calls it was decided that we would not be returning to Ms. [redacted]’s home. We proactively let her home warranty company know that they should provide another company that she may be happier with since she was not happy with us from the start.
