Universal Iron Doors & Hardware Reviews (%countItem)

Refuse to ship items needed to complete the order.
I purchased a new door on 2/13/2019 that included all required components and hardware.

The door was received in late May and installed in early June. Immediately after installing it, I noticed that there was only enough weatherstripping for one section of the door. The other two areas requiring weatherstripping were left bare. I have reached out MANY times to get this resolved with feedback that I will list below.

My main concern is that they have never sold this door before (they have refused to answer this question multiple times) and that they simply do not have a solution on how to seal the door. They have promised to send additional weatherstripping several times and now they want me to modify the door myself and install some random piece of steal to seal the door. I was promised the pieces for this modification along with a video, but have not received that either.

I really should not have to modify a $*** door to seal it against weather and bugs.

6/7/2019 - reached out with photos showing the need for additional weatherstripping. Received no reply.

6/13/2019 - followed up on previous email. Received a reply on 6/17/2019 asking me to measure how much more weatherstripping I would need.

6/18/2019 - Replied with lengths and was told "I will see what we have in stock."

6/21/2019 - Received an email stating "I am trying to figure out a solution for the top. I have the bottom door sweep."

TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A SOLUTION???

6/28/2019 - Received an email asking me if a Shop Manager had contacted me. I replied and said that no one had contacted me.

6/28/2019 - Shop Manager emails me a photo of a cheap external weatherstripping and said he would send me that along with self-tapping screws and a video on how to install it. They offered to paint it to it would blend in.

AGAIN... WHAT??? I HAVE TO MODIFY A $*** TO GET IT TO SEAL???

6/28/2019 - For the second time I ask if this door has ever been sold before and if this is what other customers have been asked to do. The question gets ignored again.

6/28/2019 - They reply and ask for my address and I respond immediately with my address.

8/24/2019 - I followed up and asked if these items were shipped. Received an email on 8/26/2019 telling me that they were "all over the Shop Manager" about the issue.

It is currently 9/25/2019 and I still have not received the bottom weatherstripping or this top weatherstripping.

Also, even if the top weatherstripping is received, modifying the door does not seem like a reasonable solution.

Desired Outcome

I would like: -The bottom weatherstripping promised in emails -Top bracket/weatherstripping promised in emails -10% refund for having to modify the door myself and live with a sub par product The website and invoice both include the following statement: Weather-strip: The flexible strips surrounding the door panel designed to impede airflow and reduce moisture when the door is closed. You cannot sell an item stating that it comes with surrounding weatherstripping, and then not provide it. You also cannot sell an item stating this and then provide a cheap modification.

Company reached out on 11.12 and sent me a photo of the modification they would like me to make to the door. They asked for my address so that they can send me the weatherstripping and self-tapping screws.

This is the 5th time they have told me they are sending me the weatherstripping and requested my address. It is now the 25th and still nothing has been received.

They also requested that I remove my complaint with the Revdex.com, which I will not do until this is resolved.

In addition, the door is now getting moisture between the glass and this should be remedied under warranty. They requested photos of this which were emailed over on 11.12. No surprise, but no response has been received.

I have continued to try to reach out to this company, but they are now completely unresponsive. I have been told almost a dozen times that the weatherstripping I need "has been shipped" but it never has been. And now they are ignoring all communication attempts.

I have printed out all documentation to proceed with taking them to small claims court and will be filing that paperwork on Friday. At this time, I do not expect this to ever been resolved reasonably, so please leave the feedback open and public.

Thank you.

Case resolved

This company does not even deserve a star. They should be shut down for selling defective products and for providing the most horrific customer service in the universe.

We ordered an iron door from Universal Iron Doors & Hardware Inc. https://www.iwantthatdoor.com/ on June of 2017, after my payment was taken in full from the company, the service was horrible. I got a message that my door was going to be delivered via email on 9/19/17, I got my contractor to wait for the door and the delivery never came. I called them and they said the door was sent to someone else by accident. We finally received the door thinking this will be the last time I will have to deal with them but boy was I wrong.
We had it installed and during the first winter of 2017 the door started to condensate with water dripping from the inside of the house. The first time it happened it wasn't even that cold, the temperature in NYC that day was about 30 degrees Fahrenheit and the inside of the house was 70 degrees. I immediately reported the problem with pictures documented on 11/11/17. I spoke to the sales person Leon Williams who sold me the door. I reminded him that I had asked about their door being fully insulated and thermally treated to prevent the door from freezing as I live in NYC prior to purchasing the door. He told me that his doors are different from other companies and they are fully insulated and will not freeze and even offers a 5 year warranty.
I waited a long time and no one was trying to help me. The sales person washed his hands on the matter and told me to talk to the owner, ***. I cooperated and tried everything he told us to do like turning down the heat in the winter and even replaced the insulation strips in the door, by the time they responded to me, winter was over and it was spring time. I waited for the next winter to test the door out again but the door is still freezing and creating a puddle of water as it condensates. I told *** that the door is defective and he needs to replace the door or refund me my money. It is the only fair thing to do. Months of ignoring and non-responsiveness goes by and on 4/25/19 *** wanted me to show him proof that the door was properly installed then he will give me a refund for the door. He said to remove the molding around the door and show him proof that the door has spray foam insulation in between the frame and the door. We did that and there was spray foam around the door showing that the door was professionally installed. Then he basically just ignored me again and did not reply to any of my emails once again. I told him that if he doesn't replace the door or return our money, I will report him for selling defective doors, providing false warranties and broken promises (he said there is a 5 year warranty on the finish of the door and my door is already peeling paint after year one).
After multiple attempts in reaching *** and being ignored with each attempt, ***, the owner calls me on 5/23/19 at 10:04 pm and starts to yell and curse at me and threatens me because he feels threaten that I will post my pictures on social media. A few minutes later he has his manager Crystal call me back stating he will return my full refund of $3660. Again waiting for the check, I then asked for proof of when he will sent out the check, he has her manager send me a picture of a check for $3000 (less than what I paid for the door) that she will mail to me if I sign a paper that I will not post my pictures on social media.
I am already out $1000 for my installation fee; he refuses to replace the old door with a new door and won't refund me the full amount I paid for the door. Now I have to buy a new door, pay someone to install it again and pay to dispose of the door (mind you this is a very heavy metal iron door that will takes several men to just remove it).

Instead of treating people with courtesy, taking responsibility and apologizing for selling a defective door, *** calls and threatens you. Instead of replacing your door or refunding your money he will lie and tell you he will return your money but he never will. This man is dishonest and does not stand behind his products that he sells. Do not trust what he says even if he gives you a written promise via email. He is conducting an unethical business that manufactures defective doors. A door is supposed to be insulated and not condensate like a cold beer in the summer leaving a puddle of water. You would think that when you pay thousands of dollars for a door that it will perform as expected. A door should keep the outside weather outside. Think twice before you throw away your money on https://www.iwantthatdoor.com/ .

I have pictures of the door with ice on it and dripping water but unable to attach to this post. I will provide them if the Revdex.com wants to see them. I have proof of documentations of what *** said and promised but did not fulfill.
