The customer dispute 75% from the bill ($3604)

We hired them to move our 1br apt stuff from VA to Fl First of all, they showed up hrs later than scheduled for pick upThey delivered days after the estimated timePrior to delivery, they gave us an estimated weigh of 6000lbs without us being thereWe insisted on going to the weight station to do pre and post weights, they then told us just to have $ready instead of the estimated quote (which was like $3500) They damaged our dresser mirror, which is only a year old, and we spent a lot of money on the setI kept calling the company and the person who answers the phone keeps referring me to the owner, who has yet to call me back for the last monthI don't recommend anyone to use this business

I am rejecting this response because:It has been one week since the company responded to you that they would contact me.  I have heard nothing from them via mail or phone. If they attempted to contact me I would accept the offer. I do not want the matter to be considered closed when they did not follow up with me as they said htey would.

Review: My wife and I contacted the moving company for a quote. We received the quote and were pleased with it a month before we moved. We were quoted $340 for a large 2 bedroom move. We paid the deposit. My wife called to confirm the move on Wednesday September 4th. We were assured that everything was still on schedule, and that we would receive a phone on Friday the 6th to confirm. That did not happen. On Saturday, September 7th a small box truck arrived. My husband and I were shocked. The driver [redacted]) said that they sent the wrong truck. Ar this point we were in a bind because we only had the weekend to move. My wife and I showed them what was to be moved. All of the boxes were labeled. Orange labels with 2nd bedroom, White labels with MB written on them for Master Bedroom. And boxes for the Kitchen. I was told by [redacted] that because it was a small truck they would have to make 2 trips. Before we started [redacted] said that we needed to sit down and go over the contract. He said the starting time was 9:30. I was told that I had to sign there packing price sheet before they started. I told him that we only wanted what we already had packed up to be moved and that we did not want additional packing. He says that it was requirement because they have to protect our property from bedbugs. And that they could not move leather couches without them being shrink wrapped. I have plenty of pictures to show that we already had our boxes secure, we used Rubbermaid bins with the exception of a few cardboard boxes that were already taped up. We had to tell them several times to stop taping things up that were already taped. Also, they repeatedly kept shrink wrapping items that were separated and not to be packed. I told the two helpers several times. They even taped my trash can which only opens when you step on the pedal. Even our brand new boxes of dishes and glasses that were shrink wrapped already with the price tag one them, they still taped it up. (I have pictures). Long story short they finally finished at around 3:45. [redacted] said that he was going to write everything up, he gave us the bill and it was over $1100! He said because they had to tape everything and packing materials. I was livid! He began to say that the company needs to change their policy and not to get the Revdex.com involved. And that they do this bait and switch all the time.I told him that I wanted to speak with his supervisor. He called him and the supervisor was very rude and would not allow me to speak, I told him what our quote was and that now they are charging us three times the amount. He said why dis we sign the firm then? I told him I was told we had to! He called me a liar. I showed our quote to [redacted]. I gave the phone back to [redacted]. [redacted] told him that we were saying that we were going to contact the Revdex.com. He dropped the price to $855. Which we fill is still to much if they hadn't been taping everything they would have been done on 4 hours instead of 7 1/2. I would like to send all of my pictures as well.Desired Settlement: I only want to be charged for 4 hours of labor minus my deposit of $85.

I had a contract with this company. They started to wrap up everything and in the middle of the moving the crew leader told us that we had to pay for the plastic $270. The contract did not say anything and argued it. He reduced the price up to $170 and I said that was not reasonable at all. We actually had moving wrap and I asked to use ours and he said that the plastic was cheap just 9 bucks, that the actual cost was related with the service. Unbelievable, we were paying per crew hour!!! The guy was just trying to steal money. I told them that we will pay for the extortion but I would suit them. At that moment they stopped the moving and left the house. Their boss called me later and offered to do it as agreed in the contract without extra charge but we said no. We hired other company. I strongly recommend not to use this company, in the middle of the moving, whenever you do not have option they will try to sneak extras.

Review: On 8/22/2014, my wife and I had contracted with Universal Movers LLC, to provide a local move from [redacted] Md to [redacted], MD. This move took over 10 hours. The drivers were sent to [redacted] Pa, instead. This company attempted to charge us for this mistake. The flat rate of $120/hr was for a 3 hour minimum. The movers were slow, spent a lot of time talking on their cell phones instead of doing their job as described. What should have been a simple move turned into an extremely stressful and very exspensive project. We were overcharged, we are finding broken items, and feel that this company should reimburse us for at least half of what we paid for this horrible service. I have moved several other times and have never experienced such terrible service. Most of our belongiinga were packed. There was no reason why this move should have been the disaster it turned out to be!Desired Settlement: I want at least half of what I paid for this lousy service refunded to me which would equal a refund of $639.50
