I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Regards,
*** ***

The contract, drawings, and plans have been updated to accommodate and reflect the requiredopening, We truly apologize for any misunderstanding on our part and any inconvenience this may havecaused you.Attached is the new contract and drawing with the correct opening noted on the contract

It was explained to the customer that insulation typically arrives 2-weeks after delivery of the buildingAttached is a copy of Mr***'s signed booking letter which clarifies the arrival time of insulationIt is unfortunate that the insulation arrived without the required membrane to
install it; however, Olympia is not the manufacturer/shipper of the insulation, The missing membrane is something we had no control overThe additional parts he is requesting to be sent are not missing items, but rather an item that an incorrect amount was orderedIn his attached component order, Mr*** agreed to Corner/End caps on the order, If he needs additional corner / end caps he will need to place another order with usAs for the ridge caps, the contract states in section of the terms and conditions that the customer has days to report any shortages or damagesWe offer this grace period to customers If they had reported them in the allotted time, we would have shipped the missing parts"4, Al! goods purchased by Buyer hereunder shall be deemed fully accepted by BuyerAll claims for shortages of bulk packages or bundles are compared to the bill of lading or for alleged damages or defects caused by shipment of the goods shall be deemed waived unless any such claims are noted in writing on the driver's copy of the bill of landing at the time of deliveryAll claims for alleged damages to and shortages of goods within concealed containers (i.e, parts inside boxes or crates) shall be reported in writing to Sellar within thirty [30) days of the date of delivery or the claims are waived." However, he waited too long to report the shortagesWe are in no way required to reimburse him for the cost of the partsWe would be willing to ship an additional corner / end caps, free of charge, if Mr*** signs a release to terminate Olympia of any legal liability,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Thank you to Victor for helping work things out.

12/31/2014Olympia Steel Buildings is a contractor. We purchase buildings from different factories and schedulingfor delivery is done by these factories. We have no control as to when the permit drawings are sent and when the building is delivered. The factory notified us that the drawings would be...

done by a specific date and the building would beshipped by a specific date. Neither of these dates were met. We endeavored to try and rectify thedelivery of the plans and the building specified time but the factory, [redacted], wereoverloaded and could not comply with our request.Because we have no control in the actual delivery dates of the permit drawings or buildings, ourcontracts state in clause:3. (6): “Buyer agrees that any delivery dates stated by Seller shall be estimates only, may be subject tochange by Seller without notice, and are based, among other things, on manufacturing and deliveryschedules”and 11. “Seller shall not under any circumstances be liable to buyer for any incidental, consequential, special, punitive or indirect damages or personal injury or property damage of any kind or naturewhatsoever, including but not limited to, costs, loss of profits, loss of use, or loss of revenue, inconjunction with or which arise out or as a result of performance orfailure to perform any obligationcontained in this contract, breach of this contract-..”Though the delay in delivery of the goods associated with this contract may have been an inconvenienceto the customer, the dates included in the contract were estimates.

Universal Steel Building Corp. I was rushed into accepting their on-line docu-sign contract with the salesperson stating I would need it to present for permitting. Lots of fine print and a very draconian contract with little protection for the buyer and lots of opportunity for add on fees by them. When I went to the permit office I immediately found out this project would cost far more than I can afford and they didn't care to see any plans as I'd been told they would need. I elected to cancel my order. I had sent them two checks. They cashed $2500 and I cancelled the second check for $4100. I would just like clear confirmation from them that this contract is null and void and I have no further obligation.

This was resolved satisfactorily. Order was cancelled as requested...

Call [redacted] for the truth about this bad practice company. If the Revdex.com is giving them a B they are uninformed. Victor, Charles and Jesse are all liars and we lost our $ and a lot of time.

AWFUL!! These people do NOT listen to you regarding what you want. They do what THEY want and take your money. Would NOT recommend them to ANYONE. They WON'T call you back when you have a question or for ANY other reason. Once you send them your money, you're screwed!! AVIOD, AVIOD, AVOID!!!!

Review: I was called by olympia steel about liquidating a building several months ago. We decided to go ahead and purchase earlier than planned because it was a reasonable price. I was given a delivery window of Sept 19-30 and was told that I would get called a week ahead of time. I have hired contractors and made reservations on equipment for the first week in October based off this. I called to f/u having not heard anything and was told they are not guaranteeing that window just aiming for it. This was never expressed previously and I have lined people up and spend thousands of dollars so that I am ready to put up the building based off their word. This is not the first time in my interaction with Olympia that they are changing the story at the 11th hourDesired Settlement: All I want is for them to deliver my order in the time window they gave me. If they are not or cannot do this then I think I should be reimbursed for the expenses I am incurring by trusting their word. Then I want nothing else to do with this company because what they tell you initially is typically the whole story. If interacting with this company I would double and triple check things because in my experience with them they either over sell or leave out key details .

UNIVERSAL STEEL BUILDINGS CORP OLYMPIA STEEL BUILDINGS 400 ISLAND AVENUE McKEES ROCKS, PA 15136 ###-###-#### ###-###-#### FAX: ###-###-#### Date: 6-15-16 RE: [redacted] Job number #[redacted] To: Revdex.com [redacted] Please be advised that Miss [redacted] signed a book letter confirming that the delivery of her building would be between 9-19-16 to 9-30-16. Since Mrs. [redacted] building only weighs 15,000 lbs. and flatbeds can carry upto 43,000 lbs., then the delivery of her building must be loaded with several other buildings, otherwise the freight cost would be prohibitive. Community freight is part of our contractual arrangement with our customers. As soon as the production schedule is finished then the freight department lines up the load and arranges for the trucking company for delivery. It is impossible prior to this to confirm a specific delivery date that is why a 2 week window is given for delivery. The customer is notified 2-3 days prior to delivery of their building so they can make arrangement for unloading it. Miss [redacted]’s building will be delivered by September 30, 2016 as agreed upon in the booking letter attached.Arnold D[redacted] President

Review: I have purchased a steel building and it was supposed to have a $3,600 deposit and then paid in full when it was delivered. Unfortunately I had to do all this on my telephone and the salesman knew I was on my phone and I had no internet access otherwise and when you wrote the contract up he wrote it up for the full amount of $10,400 we didn't figure this out to my mom got her credit card bill and seen that there was a charge of $10,400 instead of the $3,600 that Alex had told my mom and I on a 3-way phone call when we called the question he said tough luck I should have read the contract he knew I had no where to read the contract since it is so large and it was on my telephone so he directed me where to sign on DocuSign and initial and I did when my mom got her credit card bill she was blowing away I had called George at the time and ask him what's going on and him and Alex said tough luck you should have read the contract. Then the building was scheduled to be delivered July 27th as written in the contract and I was also called by shipping to be delivered on July 27th through August 5th I never seen the building address to the forklift has requested that I had to have it my place to unload the truck or I would be charged additional amount of money I did as I was told and had a forklift ready to go cost me $200 to have it sit there for 2 weeks then when the building didn't show up I started calling and all I got was a run-around so I tried to contact the owner of the company and I got a return phone call from George who gave me the run around again it says in the contract that I had to accept the delivery date or I would incur additional charges and I was in violation of the contract I did as I was told and the building didn't show then I called the shipping Department and talk to Danny and only worked there for 2 weeks and he said did the building wasn't even ready to go let alone to be shipped. So I called George back and George says in the contract it gives them rights to do whatever they want with no outcome from them but it all the liability lies on the customer. They won't let me talk to the owner to clear this up and at this point all I want is my money back they can keep the building and I want my money back I wish not to do business with the company is dishonest as they are and it's giving me a run around as much as they were giving me a run-around I have a contract with the delivery date I have a contract giving me specific orders they're in violation I would never purchase Olympia steel buildings from this company againDesired Settlement: All I want is my money back they can keep the building and sell it to another customer that's closer to them for more money I'm tired of the run around and this is the first time I've ever dealt with the company that won't let me talk to the owner or the president

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I placed a deposit of $1,850.00 on a 20x20x12 garage. After this deposit was made we received paperwork in the mail stating we were responsible for unloading. We do not have the capability of doing this ourselves. The company did offer to do this at their expense however, only doing this after several unanswered attempts at getting my deposit refunded. I no longer trust the "word" of this company. I have been calling since May 6 and receiving no answer or from Victor, I'll get the refund to you and e-mail you by 3. I never hear from him again. I call and no one is able to locate Victor or help me.Desired Settlement: Refund of $1850.00 ASAP.

Business

Response:

Ms. [redacted] spoke with our customer service agent on 5/10/2016 and on 5/11/2016 and was issued a full refund. She has already signed a release and her refund is already been UPS overnighted to her. Here is the tracking number [redacted] Attached is the refund release she has signed.

Review: On 1/22, I provided initial Engineering deposit.

On 2/4, I ordered and paid for the added insulation for the steel building.

On 2/5, I provided the manufacturing Deposit and informed my contractor work on the foundation in time for this delivery. Shipping window was 15-26Feb.

Unfortunately, the check draft was not formatted correctly in DocuSign, so I was unable to make the payment right away. Additionally, I had questions on coordinating the shipping of the insulation so I did not sign the booking letter without confirming how the shipment of the insulation would be coordinated with the steel building. These two items delayed the initial shipping timeline, which I accepted since the delay was partially due to my having a question.

On 2/8, I finally received a correct bank draft and was able to pay the Manufacturing Deposit.

on 2/10 I received a new booking letter and returned the same day. The new delivery window was 2/29-3/13.

On 3/10 I got a frantic email/phone message saying I needed to pay the remaining deposit immediately so I could make Friday's shipment. Which I did, the same day.

On 3/17 I called to get an update on the status of the shipment and learned that it had not shipped yet! No one from the company had called to update me on the status. I was informed me that it was going to go out the next week.

On 3/22, an individual from shipping called me to get container information. He told me that he would be able to get it the shipment out on Wednesday, if I provided a container number, and it would arrive in LA on the 30th.

Today, a week later, I called again to get an update on the status of my shipment. I learned today, that my building has not shipped yet. And was informed that the shipping window had been pushed back to 4/8. That was news to me, and unacceptable.

The delivery is already approximately 2 months delayed from the initial delivery window. At this point, I have already full paid for the building. I have also incurred installation costs at the delivery site. And I have incurred costs due to the continued delays.Desired Settlement: I am not happy with the customer service I have received to date. I wish to cancel my order and receive a full refund for the steel building and the insulation. I will seek an alternative solution rather than wait an undetermined amount of time for a steel building from Olympia Steel to actually arrive in Hawaii.

Business

Response:

We apologize for the delay in getting Ms. [redacted]s building out to her in a timely manner. The building was produced and ready to ship on 2/15/16 and we were trying to arrange delivery for her accessories to be shipped in the same container as her building. There was a miscommunication between the freight forwarder [redacted]), our office, and the shipping container office. The building left the factory yesterday (3/30/16) and is to arrive at the port on 4/4/16. For her troubles we have given her a complimentary walk door and two (2) sky lights.

Review: I filled out Olympia Steel Buildings quote request twice online but never heard back from them, so I called Olympia and was put in touch with [redacted]. I had said and filled out the form for a 22 x 32 x 10 bulding quote. [redacted] said they had an unfinished building, one of four concession stand buildings that wasn't purchased, that it was 25 x 30 x 10, and that it should be priced at $11,980 but she could sell it to me for $10,200. But wait she said, as she spoke to her manager as they looked at the small not on the bottom here...we can sell it to you delivered for $8,500, but only if I can pay a deposit of $3,500 today. I felt I was talking to a used car salesman. I told her I wasn't interested in that building, that it wouldn't fit properly in my given space, and she became agressively pushy. I hung up. SHe called backed later, and said she didn't understand what happened to our call, but that we were disconnected. She reiterated this great deal she had for me, I said again that I wasn't interested, and then she blurted out in her raspy voice, Mr. [redacted], you can go [redacted] yourself", and hung up. This is a first for me. I called back shortly thereafter, [redacted] answered, she said she was shaking, and asked me to spead to her supervisor who said his name is [redacted]. I told [redacted] what had happened and what [redacted] said for me to do to myself. He asked if I was sure, brushed past the topic, and asked if I was interested in the building [redacted] had been pressuring me to buy. I felt this was some sort of scam, and calling from out of state, I felt it was an interstate scam. I told [redacted] I was going to call the FBI after he asked me yet again if I wanted to buy this building. Wow! What a company. So much for Pittsburg Steel! Way to ruin a company and an economy.Desired Settlement: I'd like to know who these people really are, I'd like to hear that [redacted] is fired, and I'd like to hear back from the owner of Olympia Steel Buildings.

Review: nothing about the color of this building is right. ordered polar white with green trim, and received green building with some greentrim and some white trim and galvalume roof. have oringinal contract of colors I wanted, but when I talked to salesman he said I signed off on contract. I asked him to send it to me, and when I got it it wasn't my signature. trying to get along with these people, wanted to either split the differince[3500.00, the cost of painting roof panels], or send me painted panels for roof and not worry about restof building. building will be put up next to apartment complex, sunshining on galvolume roof willbe like mirror. [ps. had bad heartattack Sept. 2012, lost 1/2 heart function] I am not in shape to argue with these people. been back to doctor to increase medicine since this happened.Desired Settlement: refer to complant descrip.

Response:

In response to the complaint submitted 9/9/2013 ID # [redacted] have attached our Burden of proof of color confirmation signed off on by Mr. [redacted].

See attached contract, Exhibt A, dated 7/26/2013 which shows the roof as Galvalume. Secondly see the attached booking letter, Exhibit B, stateing the wall color, the trim color and the roof color. This was signed by [redacted] also on 8/13/2013. Also attached is the email, Exhibit C, that was sent to Mr [redacted] asking him to please read everything over and sign and return, which he did.

We feel we have satisfied the clarification of colors backed by the customers signature and initials. Also Mr [redacted] was also called by our order process prior to fabrication to review building and door colors which were verbally confirmed.

Consumer

Response:

I would like it known that [redacted] is the salesman on this transaction and this, according to him, was his first sale. We discussed, in detail, what color combination I wanted. He initially sent me the specs for the building and one of my concerns was the galvalume roof. I asked him if it could be painted and he said he would check. I asked him to give me the price for everything. He said everything could be done for $18,900. With that price, I told him I wanted to go forward with the purchase of the building. He sent me the contract which was to detail terms and conditions of the purchase of the building but it was not legible (see exhibit 1). They then Emailed me the same contract which was still not legible. At this point I contacted the Revdex.com and everything seemed to up to code. I signed the contract (exhibit 1) which included my notes about the color scheme. I then sent the check for payment with my signature (exhibit 2). This was the last time I talked to [redacted] but I was called by various other people to confirm delivery dates, availability of equipment, and money transfer. The building was delivered with the wrong color scheme which was similar to exhibit 3 (but not my requested color scheme) but it doesn't include my signature nor the signature of an authorized officer of Olympia. Now I'm stuck. I have to move forward with what I have as I need to start making money to pay for this purchase. Thank you. [redacted]

After I made my deposit the salesman (Heath) wouldn't return any calls. I soon found out why. I was told the building had a 5-6 week lead time. Got the first parts of the building in 10 weeks and got the last item from Olympia 16 weeks after the initial order. I was constantly told whatever it took to get me off the phone with Victor. This was the worst customer service I've EVER had.

They welded pieces wrong on one end of the building. Their solution? Send me new brackets and let me (at my expense) fix it.

Olympia failed to release the insulation order for my building. This caused my contractor to have to pull off the job and wait for delivery.

Olympia failed to include the guttering and down spouts. Again...my expense.

Victor--you are NOT a manager. Give it up.

Heath--you are not worthy of owning a cell phone. Give that up.

Review: Upon erection of the building, we found vital parts of the structure were missing. These pieces were not on the Bill of Laden but clearly on the original BOM, so when we called to rectify the situation(4 weeks ago)We have gotten nothing but the run-around.We have contacted everyone we know who was involved with the sale and purchase of the building. We call several times a day, on a daily basis, have left numerous messages with the receiptionist(who by the way, doesn't consider herself to be in Customer Service)and persons involved and get no return calls or follow-ups. No help in the way of what we need to get the job going again, as we have had to stop construction because of the missing pieces.Desired Settlement: It's a simple fix. We need the drawings and acceptance stamp to reflect the modification to the building and reimbursement for the cost of the building that is no longer needed, due to these modifications.

Business

Response:

We pay careful attention to our customers and matters that they bring to our attention to keep them satisfied and make accommodations as appropriate.

The customer purchased his building in May 2011 and it was delivered to him in July 2011.

He notified us for the first time in May 2014, three years after delivery of the building, that there were missing parts and of design modifications the customer made to the building. We explained to the customer the time to report missing parts expired thirty (30) days after delivery and that the warranty on the building materials and workmanship has also expired. We were not provided with any reasonable explanation for the three year delay in making his report to us.

We understand that the customer would like us to supply engineered stamped drawings to validate the design changes that he made to the building without consulting us, for his submission to local building code officials. We patiently explained to the customer that it is not possible to simply provide him with engineer stamped drawings to validate his modifications without first conducting an engineering investigation. The engineering investigation is necessary to ensure that his modifications do not compromise the integrity of the building and that the building continues to meet applicable code requirements. Although we offered to supply this service for the costs that we incur the customer refused this offer.

We have no contractual or warranty obligation to the customer for the matters he reported to us three years after delivery of the building. As the customer has refused our post warranty offer to charge him the actual costs we incur in arranging for an engineering investigation, we believe no further action on our part is warranted.

Sincerely,

Review: I looked online and found Olympia and saw the Revdex.com rated it very well. When I contacted them from the Olympia site, it seems I was directed to [redacted] . It seems when I ordered an Olympia building it turned out to be [redacted],... a poorly rated company.

I was misled by good reviews about Olympia Steel Buildings from the Revdex.com.

Now I am not receiving what the salesman promised which was a set of plans that I need to attain a building permit.( The salesman longer works there according to the owner, Victor ) ... I don't even know if it is an Olympia Building. I want my deposit back.Customer Service Issues:Olympia is a Revdex.com accredited company. I ordered a building from them and found out the website sends you to [redacted] , very poorly rated companies. ( Olympia Steel Buildings ) does not exist as a company. It is just a website leading you to poorly rated companies. I have an email from [redacted] clearly stating that ( OLympia ) is a trade name ,... not a place that constructs metal buildings. My question to Revdex.com is why do you give an A + rating to a company that does not exist. It is a website that uses your rating to gain the trust of the consumer, then scam them. Just look up [redacted] company on the Revdex.com site and see all of the complaints. You will see the same complaint as I am explaining to you. Google has a site that also has comments on this scam . The same story of being misled by your A + rating on Olympia.Desired Settlement: I want my deposit back because I was misled by advertising and by there sales peopleRefund:This company made promises that it will not keep, and I want my deposit back because they can't be trusted. I think it would be nice to re evaluate your opinion of Olympia Steel Buildings. When you call the Olympia Ph # ,... you will see they never identify themselves under any company name meaning ( Olympia ) ([redacted] ) ( [redacted] ) ( [redacted] ) ( [redacted] ) and there was mention of another one ( [redacted] ? )

Olympia Steel Buildings does not sell smaller residential buildings. We pass this information along to another company [redacted] In this case, he signed a contract with [redacted] which we have supplied to you. The companies sell two different products as well. This claim is not an Olympia claim, as the customer clearly signed a contract with [redacted]

Review: Company Rep [redacted] called offering to sell an airplane hangar that someone skipped out on , so hangar was already built. I advised [redacted] that I needed a door OPENING size of 18'x60' to accommodate a plane that would want to locate in the hangar. Smaller would not fit the plane. [redacted] repeatedly assured me this would be the case. He sent a contract which had a small sketch showing dimensions which were hard to read. I texted him for clarification that the OPENING would be 18x60, not the outside building dimension as the 18x60 door would need to retract through this opening. He replied the door would "fit exact." I even had the contract revised to show the door height of 18', and the contract says "(0' to 18' open for customer supplied self-supporting door)." This is pretty clear cut that the opening needs to be 18x60. After paying the "non-refundable deposit," they sent the official stamped architectural drawings which show a door width of 58' and a height of 16 9/16'. I advised them, and now the rep will not speak to me, and his front-man [redacted] says "you must have misunderstood" and wants to charge me $7000 +/- to bring the building up to the represented dimensions. They will not fix the drawings (building not delivered yet) or refund the deposit.Desired Settlement: refund and cancellation of contract

Review: After sending in my request for a quote on a specific building I waited several days for an answer. After not recieving anything I phoned the company to speak with a representative. I was told that a guy named [redacted] has my information and would return my call. Days after that I managed to get him on the phone and he told me that he had it on his desk aqnd he would call me back in ten minutes, so he did'nt call and I return the call an hour later. I was giving the run around by the receptionist for a few more days. Then I managed to get him on the line and he heard my voice so he hung up the phone. Still I have not got any quote from [redacted] after near ttwo weeks now. The receptionist refused to let me talk with another representative.Desired Settlement: I would like them to honor their advertisement that they will give a quote to applying customers in a reasonable time frame. They cause me to be late with my presentation to my investors. And as a comsumer I still demand that they give me that quote that I ask for!!

Response:

Mr. [redacted] was originally assigned to myself on 10/2/13. I went through our questionnaire on 10/3/13 around 3pm. I didn't get a chance to send the quote over that day and was on the road for business from 10/4/13-10/5/13 in Indiana. I did receive a call from Mr. [redacted] around 11 am. 10/5/13 but was in really bad cell service. When I was able to get a signal I called over to our office and had [redacted] call Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] explained to [redacted] he was angry and called the Revdex.com. [redacted] has since worked with Mr. [redacted] and got him over everything he needed in writing on 10-8-13. Please call me with any questions.
