Universal Truck Rental

We rented a truck from them for a one-way trip from Vancouver to Toronto. It was a disaster.
The truck wasn't ready when it was promised. The battery was faulty and they didn't want us to just replace it instead insisting on us getting it serviced at their shop which was impossible due to our timelines. On our trip across the country the truck stopped working. We had it towed and we paid over $1,000 to get it back on the road (many issues, all of which should have been fixed before it was rented to us) and the company refused to reimburse us saying we needed to use their shops (which again was impossible to keep on our schedule). The owner of this company was unprofessional and difficult to work with. He even insisted we pay the entire fee upfront which we now understand why! THIS COMPANY IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Here is my experience which happened today June
I am supposed to move tomorrow from Calgary to ***
I made a reservation over month ago with this company for a 26ft TruckThe Price seemed good
They took a $DepositEverything was okay
UNTIL
Not even day before I am to pick up the vehicle, which was promised to me in a legal Document with a deposit madeI get an Email saying that they can only provide a truck that is about half the size of the original truck
I call them todayAgain, one day before the move to discuss how we can solve this HUGE problemIt was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN
Not only did Shauna (receptionist and the only person that can be contacted by phone at this whole company) say that they could NOT offer me ANY help, Kilometers to do a double drive, Extra truck to accommodate for space, fuel discount or any sort of help AT ALL!!!!
She also said that it was "too bad."
They offered NO help to find another truckThey offered no one else to discuss the situation with to find a solution
HERE IS THE KICKER
This Company told me that after all of this
After screwing my reservation AND MOVE up not even day in advance
After offering no help to fix the situation
after telling me to "find a new company."
They THEN told me that
The truck HALF THE SIZE was still the SAME PRICE as the original tons truck that was promised and the deposit was made on
UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR MOVING DAY RUINED, AND BE OUT OF THE ONE AND ONLY THING YOU NEED TO MAKE A BIG MOVE HAPPEN
DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH UNIVERSAL-ONE-WAY-TRUCK RENTAL!!
