My general contractor used Universal Windows to install CGI windows in a new home built in Sarasota FL. My first negative experience with the window installation occurred when the city failed the inspection 3 times on window installation. All involved pointed fingers, the general contractor John [redacted] the framers working for the general contractor and Universal Windows. My next experience came when one of my new windows cracked and another window developed moisture internally, these are brand new windows. CGI agreed to replace the window that developed moisture internally but they refused to replace the cracked window so Universal replaced that window. My home is now complete and I have internal moisture in the cracked window that was replaced and I also have another window that is developing moisture internally. My home is not a year old and it appears the CGI windows and the Universal installers did me no favors. These CGI windows are supposed to meet Florida Building Code Standards and I find it hard to believe that the window seals are already allowing mositure in.
