In December of 2014, my family and I had a new roof installed on our house. For the last 4 years, we have been dealing with condensation and mold in our attics. It has been so bad that water has been leaking down into the first level of our home. I called them on numerous occasions regarding this problem and was told there was nothing wrong. Also, last winter, we had an extreme amount of leakage in our front entryway due to "ice damming". This year I asked another contractor to look at our roof and was told that the wrong roof was installed above our entryway. He also told that there were soft spots in the roof and that there was no wood sheeting under the shingles.

My family and I had a roof installed on our house in December of 2014. We now have leaking from the roof, which has caused mold to grow on the ceiling of our attic(s)/upstairs storage areas. As a result we have several ruined/wet boxes in these areas. My sister and I have been unable to sleep in our bedrooms due to the mold.

Just wanted to let you know that I have been in contact with Universal Windows and Roofing Direct. I called them and they called me back and said that they are looking into the situation.

Contract signed in March,2017-Work to be completed in May, 2017. Work did not start until mid summer and was not completed until Sept.17,2017. On July 15,2017, Eric B ( owner of Universal windows and roofing direct) threatened court action if we didn't pay more of the contract amount ahead of time, even though the contract states that final payment is due only when all work is completed. So $10,000.00 of the remaining $13,000.00 was paid 2 months before the work was completed. In addition, the homeowner was forced to do a lot of work himself mopping up water in the basement and fixing the gutters that were improperly installed

THIS COMPANY ROOFED OUR HOUSE AND GARAGE. FINISHED JOB MAY 13TH 2017. WAS TOLD BY BRETT OUR RECEIPT AND WARRANTY PAPERS WOULD COME IN MAIL. WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED THEM YET. I'VE CONTACTED THE OWNER ERIK ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 14TH,2017 AS TO THE METAL STRIP IN THE VALLEY BEING TOO LONG AS THE RAIN OVERSHOOTS THE RAIN GUTTERS BY 2FT. I SENT HIM A PICTURE OF THE RAIN SHOOTING OVER. HE SAID HE'D EMAIL BRETT THIS PROBLEM AND REASSURED ME THE PAPERWORK WOULD BE IN THE MAIL THAT FRIDAY. I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED OR HEARD FROM THEM. IT'S A HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH.

Universal Windows installed 11 windows and 2 doors in my Sun Room on March 9, 2017. One of the Doors was previously a Window and cement block need to be cut through to install the door. This requires Universal to pull a permit with the City of New Berlin which they have not done.

I am filing a complaint because they will not return my calls. I have called multiple times and left messages with no response.

Below are the Issues:

1. On the day of installation they demanded to be payed immediately. I paid the balance by credit card over the phone to the owner and was told that a receipt and warranty package would be sent by mail. I never received either. I have repeatedly asked for them when leaving messages.

2. The door that was previously a window was finished incorrectly. Parts are missing and they did not do the threshold right. Water comes in under the door when it rains. The quality of the framework around the door is extremely poor.

3. One of the windows needs to be replaced because there is dirt between the panes.

4. They did come out once in March, when I was having the electrical installed, There was an issue with the permit for the sun porch. The electrician got the drawings made and handled all the issues with the permit. Everything has been resolved with the City of New Berlin. He also informed the installer from Universal Windows that they will need to pull a permit from the City of New Berlin because they cut through the block. The installer said they would not do anything until the permit issue was resolved. Now that the permit for the sun porch has been resolved, I can not get anyone from Universal to return my calls.

This has been very frustrating. I would like to get this project finished correctly. I hired them in good faith and am extremely disappoint with their poor customer service and the fact that they took my money without issuing a receipt and the warranty package as promised.

Universal Windows has not contacted me. They did send me my receipt and warranty info but have not resolved the issue with the door and the window that needs to be replaced or gotten the permit from the City of New Berlin. I am not satisfied with the company's efforts to resolve this matter.

We had a new roof installed by Universal at the end of January. We had a leak to repair, the leak was not fixed.. they told us it was a window that was causing the leak. We had said window replaced and we still have an issue with the leak. My husband says the leak looks like it is come in from several feet above where the window is located. We called Universal twice with no response or action on their part.

I had a service tech go to her house and fix some things. Then she still had a problem so I had my guy go back out. He recommended replace her window. It appears that she did from her complaint. I have not received one phone call from her. I'm willing g to vet that she was calling the service guys cell phone that he left with her and he no longer works for me. I will get a service guy out there next week or possibly sooner to fix her problem. And make sure she has the correct phone number to call for any future issues

I was unable to reply to universal statement that we did not call them. That was a lie!!!! I called them three times and left messages, they did not call us or acknowledge our complaint in any way. We still have not heard from them.

because they didn't respond we had another roofing company look at the problemthey said the roof flashing were never put in correctly. causing the roof to leak.We had that company fix the problem costing us $3700.00 additional dollars

On October 18, 2016 after a phone conversation requesting a quote, a representative named Nick from Universal Windows Direct came to my home and took some preliminary measurements for some windows I wished to replace. He quoted me a price. After some discussions about price & what was included, I agreed to have Universal Windows provide four (4) replacement windows for my home. I was informed that someone would come out to take a second measurement for the sake of accuracy.

On November 7, 2016, the second measurement was taken for the replacement windows. At that time my order was submitted to Universal Windows Direct for four (4) replacement windows. Total cost was $5532. That day, I also paid them a $1000 deposit (personal check) to be applied towards the cost. The balance was to be financed through a company they worked with. I was told it would take 8-12 weeks for the windows to be manufactured & I would receive a call from Universal Wiindows when they were ready to be installed.

In early February 2017, having not heard anything, I called Universal Windows to get a status. At that time I was informed by the "production manager" that the factory had shut down for 2 weeks over Thanksgiving and Christmas so my order wait time really should have been an additional 4 weeks.

March 16, 2017 - I sent them an email asking for another status. I received a phone call from the owner informing me that there had been additional delays due to "production issues". He told me that his production manager had been fired for not informing customers about the delays. He wasn't aware that I was one of the affected customers. He told me that I could expect my windows to arrive the "Week of April 10 or 17" (2017). At that time, he gave me his email address and said I could contact him with any additional questions/concerns.

April 12, 2017 - Sent another email requesting an order status. Owner replied that factory was "closed for the day & he had already received his order for the week which didn't include my windows". He promised to call the factory the next day & get back to me.

April 13, 2017 - Sent the owner another email asking if he'd talked to the factory about my order. No reply.

April 17, 2017 - Sent email asking for order status. Also informed owner that if my windows didn't arrive that week, that I wanted to cancel my order and have my deposit refunded. Again.....no reply.

April 24, 2017 - Sent email informing the owner that I am canceling my order after waiting almost 6 months and would like to be notified when I can expect to receive my $1000 deposit paid in November. No reply received.

May 1, 2017 - Filed complaint with Revdex.com-WI.

The door that was installed was installed incorrectly and the frame was wrecked, after a year the door frame was deemed wrecked by an employee of the company, the owner now claims they are going out of business and there is nothing he can do to refund me.

We had a roof done in July 2016. Since then the roof has leaked 3 times. The first 2 times they claimed it needed to be caulked. The third time was Wed. April 19,2017. I called numerous times, the one time I got an answer he said hed call back. I still havent gotten a response. We paid 15,000 for this roof and cannot afford to pay someone else to fix it

In Fall of 2012 Universal Windows and Roofing Direct was contracted to take off old roof and install brand new roof at home. Cost was around $12,700. Roof was installed and full warranty for the roof was guaranteed and paperwork for warranty was given (and I still have it). Last September I contacted Universal Windows and Roofing Direct and told them that roof was leaking in multiple places. They have come in 3 times and I have called the company at least 20 times and left a message each time with my name and number. Each time they said of course this is covered and we'll fix it. But then each time, I never hear from them again, it was up to me each time to try to get a hold of them.
