Review: This is the letter that I wrote to the Public Safety at the Univ. of Hartford .However they failed to contact me to resolve this issue. Feb. 23, 2014To The Dept. of Public Safety, My name is Ruriko Wheeler and I have been teaching at the [redacted] for 17 years. On Jan. 30th, Thurs. night after teaching, I returned to my car and found a boot on my tire. After contacting Public Safety the personnel informed me that I had 2 prior parking tickets and since I was in a student spot without a tag that I had received a 3rd ticket which also means receiving a boot. I never received the 2 prior tickets or found them on my car. I have attached the record of the violations that Public Safety is claiming which offers no explanation. If I had received these tickets I would have brought them to the office to ask what they are for. Because of these 2 pre-existing tickets which you are claiming and which I did not receive, I was unjustly penalized to receive the 3rd ticket and a boot. I am requesting you to dismiss these 2 tickets Public Safety is wrongly charging me and reimburse the $25. cash for the boot which was illegitimately placed on my vehicle.If you do not think this is reasonable, please tell me why and I will bring this case to other investigative resources since I am innocent and wrongly charged with these parking violations. In addition to this ticket issue, I need to report how unprofessional your Public Safety personnel acted on 1/30. After waiting more than 15 minutes in the dark in 16 degree temperatures, they were bragging about how many tickets they gave out that day rather than showing concern for peoples safety. I was sick for ten days following this incident.I strongly urge you to dismiss the 2 prior tickets which I am wrongly charged and reimburse the $25. boot removal fee to settle this case.Desired Settlement: I need the wrongly charged tickets ($25x3) to be removed from the record and $25 cash refund for the boot which they wrongly placed on my vehicle.
