University Parking Enforcement L.L.C. Reviews (5)

Review: University Parking Enforcement, in my opinion is preying on college students and especially those of the LDS faith. A boot was placed on my car early Saturday morning with a fine of 60 dollars for removal. I however could not take care of the boot at the time as I had to be out of town for the rest of the day attending a very important family event. I was not warned when or if my vehicle would be towed or impounded. The next day being Sunday I chose to not conduct any business that day being a member of the LDS faith. That night or early Monday morning my car was towed. I feel that I was not afforded adequate time to address the issue and that University Parking Enforcement (UPE) took advantage of a day when many people in Provo do not worry about things business related. I feel I was taken advantage of because of my religion. The next day being Monday I called UPE to address the issue. When I called I the manager I proceeded to explain my situation and why I felt I was being taken advantage of. He offered me twenty five dollars off the total of $200 which I accepted. However I still informed him that due to what I perceived as an unethical business practice (taking advantage of a day that I choose not to participate in business of any kind) I informed him I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com. Upon hearing this the manager arbitrarily added again the 25 dollars to my fee. I feel that the Manager was belligerent rude and not at all easy to work with. I feel that UPE is taking advantage of college students and people that because of religious convictions will not do business on Sundays. I am very disappointed in my experience with University Parking Enforcement.Desired Settlement: A Full refund of the 200 Dollars that was taken, in my opinion unethically.

Review: I was towed from the spot I have parked for the last year because my pass [redacted] off the mirror. I was then charged an amount that should be illegal.

Last night past 8:30 PM my car was towed from apartment parking in the Arlington Complex in Provo. I had parked in my normal spot where I had been for the last year and my pass fell off of the rearview mirror. This would be understandable although ridiculous but I am now being charged the max tow amount of $175 for a 2 mile tow and $25 a day for it to sit in the lot. According to utah tow laws that is the max amount they can charge. Why am I getting charged the same as a 50 mile tow? Desired Settlement: I would like to be charged the industry standard for towing a vehicle a couple of miles.

I understand that being towed can be a frustrating situation. UPE is under contract with Arlington to tow any vehicles not displaying a valid parking permit. There is very limited parking for residents and guests. In order to maintain an organized parking situation, the HOA has determined it necessary to enforce parking by permit only.

The state of Utah regulates the non-consent tow fee at $145, storage at $25 per day (starting immediately), Admin fee at $30, and a fuel surcharge of $29. UPE charges $54 less per tow than our competitors. Non-consent tows are higher than consent towing due to insurance premiums, regulation, licensing, and risk.

I understand that you have already picked up your vehicle. If you would like to appeal this violation, you may do so at universityparkingenforcement.com. Let me know if you have any further questions I may answer.

Review: UPE is driven by commission based pay and disregard for the actual well being of their clients. They act like bullies and do not reasonably negotiate.

I also request my 40 dollar boot fee to be reimbursed.

I am responding to a complaint with little to no information. I would be happy to include a more detailed response if you would like to submit more information about your actual boot and tow situation.

The UPE towing fee is $145 and the $30 charge you are referring to is a state administration fee that is also posted on each parking enforcement sign and on our fee schedule. Towing companies are required to report the violation and impound to the Utah State Tax Commission and the local authorities.

If your vehicle was booted before it was towed, the boot fee is not charged as part of the towing. The boot goes away as the impound is initiated.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,

Review: The said company illegally and improper towed my vehicle. My vehicle had the proper plaque showing. However they decided to tow my vehicle anyway.

The said company illegally and improper towed my vehicle. My vehicle had the proper plaque showing. However they decided to tow my vehicle anyway.

This company and it's employees continued their predatory and discrimination by forcing me to pay their outrageous fees.

Furthermore, their despicable behavior has called undue financial and emotional stress on a person with severe disabilities.

Desired Settlement: Refund of their outrageous fee and reimbursement of my time.

Mr. [redacted],

I understand that being towed can be a frustrating and overwhelming experience. I have looked into your situation and have watched the evidence video of the Mercury Grand Marquis. UPE has clear video of the vehicle parking in a federal handicap stall without a displayed handicap placard.

I would be happy to look at any further information that you have on this situation. You may make an official appeal through UPE's website at http://www.universityparkingenforcement.com/pdf/UPE_administrative_review_form.p... />
If you are petitioning a discount based on ownership of a handicap placard, please provide a copy of your current permit and vehicle registration in the appeal.

Let me know if there are any further questions I may answer.
