Dear Revdex.comMrs*** brought her jeep to us on April 8, and provided a used differential (rear end)from a wrecking yardWe installed the customers used rear end in her vehicle
She then took the Jeep to another shop and came back and said that the shop had told her thatthe rear end was not
installed correctly and was leaking from a seal
We offered to check for loose bolts but explained that a leaking seal in the used differential wasnot something that would be repaired without additional cost, as she had provided the usedpart from a wrecking yard
We have been in business for years and we stand behind all of our work We are more thanhappy to double check the installation and be certain that the rear end was correctly installedin the vehicleHowever we cannot guarantee the integrity of a used part provided by thecustomerThat used part and it's integrity is the responsibility ofthe customerI'm sure youunderstandI hope this settles the matter please contact me directly if you have any otherquestions or concerns regarding this matter

This is the only receipt I have from University place radiator & muffler

Again this customer arranged for the rear end to be delivered from the wrecking yard. We accepted therear end and installed in her vehicle. We paid the wrecking yard company for the rear end with thedeposit the customer left for it, as the customer had arranged for the purchase and delivery thru thewrecking yard company. We cannot and do not warrant used parts. These are the facts. The struts inthe front are obviously nothing to do with us. If she wants her used part repaired we are happy to dothat but we have to charge the customer for that service.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:it's completely untrue! I took my jeep to University Place Radiator on March 26th to look for a noise problem. They told me I needed to replace the rear differential. University Place radiator BOUGHT the used part from the junkyard not me. They billed me for the used part. They should have known it was defective upon installation but installed it anyways knowing there is a leaking seal. The junkyard subsequently sent the wrong part so there was a delay in repairing the jeep. 
I picked up the jeep from University Place radiator on April 8th and drove it home, I knew right away it wasn't fixed as the noise was still present.  I returned the following Monday the 11th to have University Place radiator check the installation of the rear differential. They take it back to check and inform that the struts are bad. I left and the jeep was still making noise and at that point I decide to take it to another shop to get a second opinion.
[redacted] repair test drove the jeep and pinpointed a loose bolt (RH lower control arm connection at differencial) the bolt was not properly torqued causing the control arm to shift and bang when the drivetrain was loaded and unloaded. [redacted] properly tightened the bolt and verified the noise is no longer present on their final test drive. [redacted] also note that the jeep DOES need struts due to wear and tear & leakage BUT this is NOT causing any excessive noise. Furthermore they noticed the rear differential seal appears to be leaking already. 
When I returned to University Place radiator to show them the written inspection I had from [redacted] they read it and just shrugged it off. Told me I would have to pay for the leaking seal on the rear differential. University Place charged me 600.00 for the used differential and installed it for another 448.00 dollars. They say it's not covered under a warranty because it was used, BUT they installed a defective used rear differential.  They DID NOT check their work the second time I brougt it back, they just looked for a new problem instead. Sincerely,[redacted]
