This customer came into our store on Nov18, We diagnosed the problem as lower control arms/ball joints on both the right and left The ball joints were so loose that the vehicle was unsafe The customer paid $for the diagnostic fee and left He returned approximately
hours later and ask that we perform the diagnosed repairs We replaced the lower control arm/ball joint assemblies and performed a 4-wheel alignment The next day, the customer returned complaining of continuing noise The noise he was hearing was tire noise from scalloped tires that was not detectable until the control arms were replaced.
Then on February 25, 2016, he returned complaining of noise This noise was diagnosed as right and left wheel bearing/hub assemblies He stated incorrectly that this was the original noise he had come in for back in November He asked for us to fix this new problem for no charge or refund him for the control arm repairs made in November
Keep in mind, this was just over months since the control arms were repaired I declined to oblige his request, but did later tell him that I would give him a $discount on the wheel bearings if he wanted us to do the repairs He evidently was not satisfied with this offer
Also, this is a vehicle with almost 110,miles on it It not only needs these wheel bearings replaced but there will be other needed repairs to this vehicle in the future due to age and mileage
English is not the first language for this customer and communication is difficult at times with him
The work we did was properly diagnosed and properly repaired The customer wants to attribute every continuing noise to his original issue, which is neither related nor correct We treated this customer the way we treat all customers and if he was so unhappy, why did he wait months to come back to voice a concern that he alleges back to the November repairs
