Great young men that moved us as far as attitudeBut lacked experience in wrapping and packing the truckThis was our 15th move and the first with this companySales person estimator all talk no action More damage than any other move, they did not deliver on their promisesI would not and could not recommend this company to any friends or relativesI wrote a long letter about my experience to the sales person and to both owners offering my recommendations for improving the moving experience also about our damageNever heard a word from either owner.Had we not moved boxes ,lamps, art work, vases and plants over to our new home our self prior to the move, plus on moving day we had to pack both our cars full because they had no room on the truck then it would still be sitting at our old home todayI asked for a seasoned crew and for a truck big enough to hold our belongings and was assured they would be hand picked and that the truck would have room left over needless to say both were [redacted] just sales talk to get the sale.Under promise over deliver has always been my motto in sales, not like this salesman did, which was over promise and under deliver"Caveat Emptor"

Universitybrand movers moved my mother, who is a senior, from Hamilton to London Before they had moved an item from her house one of the movers accidentally put his elbow through the glass of her antique china cabinet He told her about it immediately and said that he would file a report As we are reasonable people who understand that mistakes happen we carried on with the move assuming that they would pay for the damage After the move was finished she was told to file a damage report After the report was filed she was told that there was a $deductible that she would be responsible for paying The estimate to fix the glass was $ Universitybrand movers then recommended that she pay the glass company directly otherwise they would charge her the $deductible to put it through insurance I was appalled by this! Apparently this is in the fine print of their moving contract First of all, I think that as movers, they should explain this policy to people before the contract is signed, which was not done I'm sure it is not uncommon for damage to occur when a whole house is being moved The fact that they didn't disclose the damage policy prior to the contract being signed is unprofessional Second, I understand that they would not want to be responsible for expensive repairs, however, this is what insurance is for When they are the policy holder they should be the ones responsible for the deductible Third, it is clear that no one would make an insurance claim for an expense that is less than the cost of the deductible To suggest that they would charge her $for a $repair is ridiculous Fourth, there is a lack of business integrity when a business will not pay a $repair that was caused by their error, to keep a customer happy They had inconvenienced her enough by having her file a damage report and holding up her unpacking while she waited for the repair to be completed Given that they damaged her property and caused her this inconvenience it would have gone a long way if they picked up the cost of the repair The customers satisfaction was not a concern of theirs Based on my mother's experience I would not recommend this company to anyone! I think that this company lacks business integrity and clearly are not at all interested in keeping the customer happy!

After waiting and hour and a half beyond the time their representative was to show to look at the minor damages from the moveThe representative didn't introduce himself and wanted to look at the claim .Upon looking at the damages to the front door of our newly built house he says that's minor you can touch up with paint and the gouged in the railing are not covered ....things happen in moves we only cover what we move The new dresser had gouges and they would try to repair itUpon me saying that was not acceptable they left and would only deal with who signed the contract The attitude he had is not good business practice and [redacted]

As we are reasonable people who understand that mistakes happen we carried on with the move assuming that they would pay for the damage. After the move was finished she was told to file a damage report. After the report was filed she was told that there was a $150 deductible that she would be responsible for paying. The estimate to fix the glass was $55. Universitybrand movers then recommended that she pay the glass company directly otherwise they would charge her the $150 deductible to put it through insurance. I was appalled by this! Apparently this is in the fine print of their moving contract. First of all, I think that as movers, they should explain this policy to people before the contract is signed, which was not done. Fourth, there is a lack of business integrity when a business will not pay a $55 repair that was caused by their error, to keep a customer happy. They had inconvenienced her enough by having her file a damage report and holding up her unpacking while she waited for the repair to be completed. Given that they damaged her property and caused her this inconvenience it would have gone a long way if they picked up the cost of the repair. The customers satisfaction was not a concern of theirs. Based on my mother's experience I would not recommend this company to anyone! I think that this company lacks business integrity and clearly are not at all interested in keeping the customer happy!
