I used Upfront Movers to move me 7/12/2019. They did not unload the box that contained every single dish, glass, and coffee cup I own. I notified them by email 7/13/2019 of this. I got no response so I emailed again. I got no response so I called. I was told they did not have any idea where my box was and had no plans to look on the truck for it. As I paid for valuation coverage I asked them to send me a claim form. They never sent me a claim form. I want my dishes. If I cannot get them back, I want to be compensated.

Desired Outcome

Replacement If they refuse to locate and return the box containing every single dish, glass, and coffee cup I own, I want to be compensated. I paid for valuation and have a written contract.

They picked up all items to be moved & failed to deliver all items. Have not reached out to us to resolve in three weeks since last phone call.
They failed to deliver all items they were moving from CA to TX. Things arrived broken despite the words fragile. Brand new boxes were damp, broken, and torn. Artwork has dents, glassware was broken. We are missing a green couch and matching overstuffed chair, a blue chair, a dolly, 20+ boxes and a Cal King mattress.They have not delivered any of the belongings and have no located the boxes.They do not call or email back and have no explanation as to how are items were lost or separated and why we have longer because of their lack of organization.

Desired Outcome

We demand a detailed explanation as to why this happened, to speak to the owner; NOT ***. We want our stuff delivered in the SAME condition it was picked up in. We want undamaged boxes and furniture. We want compensation for having to buy new items to sit on, sleep in and wear.

The movers pick up my belongings on 10/6 and they gave me estimated delivery of 7-21 days. It's been 26 days and I haven't heard back from them.

Desired Outcome

Contact me asap and deliver my belongings asap.

Never use this company for your moving needs. I moved from LA to GA and they have identified my expensive items like TV (packed like a brand new), coffee table and wardrobe box with suites and stole them. The driver who delivered the goods was rude and non-cooperative. He asked me to pay in full before even showing the goods which he has brought. Extremely unprofessional and offered no help to track my missing items.

Up Front Movers missed and also damaged few packages, furnitures during shifting our packages from California to Charlotte, NC.
We hired UP FRONT MOVERS for relocating our apartment from California to North Carolina. They delivered our packages on April 1st 2018. But they lost few expensive packages during the transit and also damaged few important packages.

The total cost of lost and missed packages are mounting to

We regret that your shipment had missing items. This is something that rarely happens and understand that this inconvenienced you greatly.

You contacted us regarding the issue and we told you that we would contact the driver and inform our dispatch, so he could check the warehouse. Unfortunately, your 2 lost items were not in our warehouse. Customers that were in that same truck were contacted, some replied said that they did not have the items others did not reply.

We understand how terribly inconvenient this was and regret this situation. At the time that you contacted us no damages were mentioned just the 2 missing items. We emailed a claim form for the missing items, and asked that you contact them directly. We asked them to make every effort to speed up the process.

Every move has a Basic Valuation protection which means that we are responsible for $0.60 per pound for any loss or damaged items. We encourage our customer if their household goods need additional protection this be purchased before the day of your move.

Our paperwork provides you with the information of where the additional coverage can be purchased. We have an estimate and a contract signed by you, that states that you accept the $0.60 at no additional cost. Unfortunately, we cannot refund you the amount that you are requesting. *** for a move that cost ***

We have contacted our claim department once again and have asked the to please send you a letter with the settlement amount. We will be emailing you that information in one or two weeks.

Bait and Switch. Over charge of contracted services.
When booking my move for November 1st, 2017 with a woman by the name of Brooke, I was quotes a specific address and location from where my furniture was going to be stored which in paper indicated would be in Cowan Heights, Santa Ana (in the contract). But that was not the case. My furniture ended up being in Northridge and they charged me triple drive time from moving it from Northridge to Santa Ana. Paper work does not reflect any address in Northridge.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a refund of the overcharge which is $400.00 that represent the drive time from Northridge to Santa Ana. I am not disputing the charge for the delivery of my items from Santa Ana to Santa Ana.

We regret that your experience was a negative one. We strive daily to gain customer satisfaction and disappointed that we did not attain yours.

Our sales team contacted you back in October and offered a FREE month in our storage. The documents that you have attached have our old address in North Hollywood. However, all the estimates that were sent to you have the address in Van Nuys, CA. The Estimate had you address and it says storage this does not mean that our storage facility is in that city. It is just confirming that is it coming to our storage.

You were given a discounted rate for the misunderstanding and agreed to the terms by e-signing before we delivered you from our storage facility to your new address. We regret the misunderstanding, but did reach an agreement with you which you accepted.

The response from Up Front Movers is simply untrue.

Here is a more detailed description of what exactly happened:

In October of 2017 I had contacted Up Front Movers to get a moving estimate on my move to Santa Ana, CA from Marina del Rey, CA. I spoke with a woman by the name of Brooke Helwig (who by the way was based out of Miami NOT the LA area). We were discussing pricing and any special offers they were having at the time in which she indicated that they were.They were offering to me at the time one months free storage (this was stated to me PRIOR to even giving her my address to where I was moving to - so the response by UpFront Movers stating they offered me "free" storage because of their mistake is just simple a lie). The free storage was offered way before any issues. I then called Brooke back a few days later stating I wanted to use up front movers for my move. So we worked out all the details. I told her my apartment that I was moving to wasn't ready and that I needed storage until the apartment complex was ready for move in (which was two months later). I told her I needed storage and that's when she sent the quote (which I have in my email) which details move pick up and delivery (delivery to their storage in SANTA ANA).

The movers came to move me on Nov. X XXXX, and gave me a work order and went through the details of where my furniture was going. We went through the paperwork (which I have and have attached to this case) and the address stated on the work order to where my furniture was being delivered to was to COWAN HEIGHTS SANTA ANA. The movers packed up all my stuff and at the end of the move since they are charging me for drive time showed me the traffic on the movers phone to Santa Ana so they can finish the work order. The Mover (who's name is Chris) literally showed me his phone to show me how long it would take to drive my furniture to santa ana NOT northridge. Throughout this entire process I never even heard of Northridge until the day before I moved.

This is where things start to get sketchy. I had contacted upfront movers a few weeks after I moved because I needed to get something out of my storage. I was told that I am NOT allowed to access my furniture/storage unit (I have the voicemail of this too). I thought that was strange. A few weeks passed *** I had contacted upfront movers in early January of 2018 to confirm my move in date and make sure all the movers were ready to go. IT WAS THIS PHONE CALL WHEN I FOUND OUT MY STORAGE WAS IN NORTHRIDGE NOT SANTA ANA. I was mad. I told them that Brooke had booked my move and storage to santa ana. I tried working with a woman by the name of ***, who was VERY disrespectful to me - terrible customer service.
I was charged double drive time from Marina Del Rey to Northridge and DOUBLE drivetime from Northridge to Santa Ana. She did offer for me to have other movers come and pick up my furniture and move me. I then had contacted her telling her I had other movers that can take care of the move from their storage to my apartment (at this point I didn't want to deal with them anymore and I did not trust them). When I called *** to tell her that I want other movers to go to my storage and move me she said "Well, we can't allow anyone to access your storage and your furniture is already loaded on the truck ready to go". I had no choice but to have them (Up Front Movers) move my furniture to my new apartment. She did offer me $5.00 off an hour - in which the movers took 7 hours so that equates to 35.00 total in savings which doesn't come close to covering their bait and switch (which is illegal) - and what I had to end up paying for. I am asking for $400 dollars in reimbursement (which includes the 35.00 dollar deduction) for the following drive time:

Marina del rey > Northridge (which should've been Santa Ana)
Northridge to Santa Ana - Santa Ana back to Northridge ( which should have been SANTA ANA (where my storage is) to SANTA ANA ( where my apartment is)

I want to make a side note here. I tried VARIOUS times working with the company to try to get things right and their business practices and the way they treat their customers is appalling and illegal. I have never had my rights violated or distrusted a company so much.

The response you gave is just a re-written response to my first complaint posted. You make it seem like the free months storage was a favor by your actions, when in fact it was offered before any of this happened. If you check all the contracts and emails (which are attached to this case) there is NO information showing any storage facility in Van Nuys, CA. The discounted rate you gave me doesn't even come CLOSE to covering the fault you made...you clearly knew you made an error which is WHY you gave me a "discounted" rate. I had to follow through with the move, I had NO choice you basically held my storage hostage. Again just re-iterating my last response, which you clearly didn't read I had attempted to arrange another moving company to move into my apartment in Santa Ana and since it was on a Saturday you indicated A. No one would be available on your side to give the NEW movers access to my storage and B. you indicated my stuff was already packed on a truck ready to go the night before. You cannot hold my storage hostage, which you did. You also bait and switched me - also illegal. To the agent monitoring this case, what are my options are to move further? How do I go about taking legal action and taking this to court? I have documents, witnesses, and saved emails that support my case.

They are not willing to schedule the delivery of my furniture - and refuse to give an exact date as to when it will be delivered.
I moved from Oceanside CA to Carson City NV - when I signed up I was told they would pick up the household items from my storage unit and deliver it to my new house. I didn't have the exact address, and was told to call and they would schedule the move on the back end. I contacted them 3 times trying to coordinate my move and the dispatcher and my service rep were both rude - told me it would be 21 additional days before they would even think about locating a driver to deliver my home furnishings.

I want my furniture delivered. I have an empty house and they have my furniturel.

We strive daily to provide our customer and outstanding moving service and regret when this is not attained.

When you spoke to a sales consultant all the information regarding your shipment was provided this included delivery time frame. We regret that any information was misunderstood. We will not guarantee a delivery date unless a Premium Guaranteed Service has been agreed on. In your case this premium was not paid. Our delivery time frame for delivery is 21 business days and we disclose this to all our customer, we do however make every effort to deliver closer to our customers (FAD) First available date.

Your shipment was picked up on October 5th and you gave us a to Be Determined date. When you called us on October 19th for delivery, you requested October 25th. Called us on October 23 demanding that we deliver you on the 25th of October. We explained that we still did not have a driver assigned, but we would have one soon.

Our drivers are on the road delivering customer just like yourself that sometimes have shuttle services or other inconvenience that we have to accommodate. Also other situation may arise that we have no control over. Mechanical issues, natural disasters, road conditions. This situation does not allow us to provide our customers with exact dates, just time frames. This is why our office was not able to, but we were aware that we would deliver you closer to your requested date.

Your shipment was delivered on October the 26th a day after to your requested date.

The information on delivery was not communicated. I got a quote over the phone. No person came out and looked at my job. In the pick up date the price doubled. I was charged for packing materials. Then in the last 5 minutes the driver had me sign all the contract forms. He did not review any of them with me. Then when I contacted the company for delivery I was told there were no drivers and it could by up to a month before they got one. Then the dispatcher called me a lair and so did my job coordinator. The coordinator lied and said he went over the paperwork with me at the time of service - he wasn't even there! This company if fraudulent. They did not deliver all of my stuff. & they did not keep their commitments or promises.

The quote sent to you based on 900 cubic ft. for a storage unit of 10 x1 5x 8. When our crew arrived they gave you a revised estimate and explained that your storage unit was 15 x1 0 x 10 and you signed and initialed on 10/5/17 and had packing materials again you agreed to this.

The estimate that you that was sent to you 5 times and was e-signed by you on October 3rd discloses the information regarding delivery, we regret that you did not read this information when you e-signed, but the information was disclosed. You called us to state that you wanted your delivery, and that you wanted as soon as possible, but never informed us that you had missing items.

We regret that we were unable to attain your satisfaction, we delivered during our time frame and all information was disclosed.

moving company threatened to hold my items hostage on their truck unless I paid double what I was quoted
Was provide an estimate of 4 hours 3 guys $121 per hour. Movers started working at 6pm loaded up items in truck by 8:15. Got to new location ( next door to original location) at 8:35. Movers took a break for 15 minutes. I asked them to hurry and unload and was then told they had an estimate of another 3-4 hours to unload and unless I paid the additional cost then and there with my credit card, they wouldn't unload my belongings and would leave with my items. I disputed but at their mercy they charged my credit card . Then the deliberately took a long time and tried to over charge for hidden fees like wrapping and tape which were originally included I the estimate . When seven hours had passed *** were supposed to finish loading my office couches on my truck and requested cash payment to do so saying they were out time. I was left with furniture in the street after paying for 7 hours of moving which should have been 4 hours max . I had two small offices to move. originally load time and wrapping was under 2 hours. They estimated an additional 5 hours to unload the same furniture and when I argued they threatened to hold my items hostage.

Desired Outcome

I am disputing the additional 3 hours that were inflated while holding my items hostage. I am willing to pay for the original estimate of 4 hours. I have disputed with my credit card company as well filing a complain with moving company.

We sent an estimate with our minimum hours, this is not a guaranteed time just an estimate our quote clearly states The quote mentioned above reflects the price per hour and the cost of our minimum hours. The total cost will be based on the actual time it will take to complete the service.

Our crew arrived and began to work ant 6, they had worked on an earlier move and by law they need to take breaks which are not charged to our customer. Our crew do not take their time, they want to complete the move within a reasonable time and go home to their families.

The estimate which you e-signed on 9/26/17 states on Payment Terms The card-holder must be present. Please note that payment will be collected before un-loading the cargo. Our crews follow company policy because this protects them. We apologize that this inconvenienced you.
