April 27, 2016To Whom It May Concern:We received a complaint from a potential client named [redacted] concerning our tattoo removal service, Tatt2Away. Ms. [redacted] had come into our shop and spoke with the tattoo professional who does our removal services. After discussing the procedure, Ms.... [redacted] decided she wanted to set up an appointment to have the procedure done. Jason, the tattoo professional that does the removal service, set up the tattoo removal appointment and requested the $50 deposit we require to book appointments. Jason explained to Ms. [redacted] that putting the deposit down holds her spot for the appointment and that if she needed to reschedule her appointment, he could move the deposit to another day. Jason did not and would not tell a client that the deposit could be given back because that has never been the policy at our shop. Not once have any of the artists here given a deposit back for any reason. We have a sign posted right behind the desk where we book all appointments that reads "ATTENTION: ALL DEPOSITS ARE 100% NON- REFUNDABLE REGARDLESS OF AMOUNT If you need to reschedule your appointment we need a 24 hour notice." Ms. ***, when calling to cancel her appointment, spoke with our piercer, Rocco, on the phone. When she was talking to him on the phone, she requested that she receive her $50 deposit back, which Rocco explained to her that all deposits are non-refundable and if she wanted reschedule the appointment that he could take care of her. Rocco took a message for the owner, me, to discuss her options on whether to reschedule her removal service or get a tattoo instead. In no way, were any of the employees at Up In Arms Tattoo rude to Ms. ***. We provide upstanding services to all of our customers and hope to please everyone. We get phone calls requesting deposits back often, but have informed our clients that the only way to move a deposit is to reschedule an appointment.I have attached a picture of the front desk of our shop where you can clearly read and see the sign that says our deposit policy.Thank you for your time. If you have any more questions or concerns please feel free to email us [redacted] ) or call us ###-###-####.Sincerely,Walter S [redacted] Owner of Up In Arms Tattoo

Review: I went to Up in Arms Tattoo to inquire about tattoo removal services. The man I spoke with was Jason. He told me to receive these services I had to put down a $50 deposit. I wanted my tattoo removed, so I agreed to paying the $50. He also told me that I could get my deposit back as long as I called prior to 24 hours in advance, which I did. After doing more research, I learned that these services leave extensive scarring. For this reason, I wanted to cancel my appointment and not receive these services. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone informed me that my deposit was non-refundable, even though no services were rendered. I told him about my situation and his only response was "there are notes plastered all over the wall that say no refunds." The shop has many signs and decor all over the wall, so I did not happen to see this one in particular, if it was even there. I am very unhappy with this business and would never recommend anyone use them.Desired Settlement: $50
