Jesse *** has always done great work and I would have described him as typically great to work withHe had done several pieces for me, and his work was truly exemplaryI was looking forward to having a sofa done with him -- I had full confidence it would turn out beautifully and was excited about this projectOne of the things I really liked about working with Jesse was I was never in a hurryI was happy to wait, as I work full time and hunting for fabric was time-consuming and drainingIt was a perfect relationship, as he did not mind my 'flakiness'When a piece was finally done (due to MY delays, not his), his workmanship was consistently beyond reproachHe picked up a sofa in spring of 2016, and I again said, I am not in a hurry, I don't have fabric yetHe again was fine with my atypical time-line and gave some great advice on what to look for in fabricI contacted him again in November, touching base on the project (I had faced some personal health issues, causing even longer delays than on my end.)Something must have happened, as the email exchange started out fine, but quickly degraded into a very negative experienceI must stress, I had not found any fabric, but with our history together and my stressing I that was not in a hurry, I was surprised to find he had become so stridently negative with no warningIt ended up with me paying to rent a trailer to have the sofa picked up (he had taken it from my house for no charge and refused to return it)I was also to pay some previously non-existent charges for storage (he had never stated any such charge, nor alluded to one -- it was out of the blue, a couple of weeks after I had sent the "checking in, how are things going email, as his emails increased in curtness, this charge suddenly developed)I was very saddened at the turn in things, and not sure exactly what happenedHe never once initiate contact me, in the time the sofa was at his workshopThere was not one request or communication that he needed me to move forward on the fabric -- it was I who contacted him to see where things stoodAnd the communications with this typically friendly and warm professional soon took a turn that left me appalledThe tone of the emails was so bad I had contacted a lawyer to get advice on how to handle this -- advice was to have a sheriff on hand when I picked up my sofa, to protect myself and the item - I did not follow this advice and wish I had I was truly afraid for my safety when I picked up the sofa (I was called names the sofa was being violently 'strong-armed" on his part, and was glad I had a guy with me to help.)
I can state his work is excellent -- he had always taken pride in what he did, and had always been professional and pleasantI am not sure what happened that caused him to suddenly become a different personI expect his work is still truly above excellent -- skills like his just get better with timeI am sad to conclude I would not do business with this person again nor recommend him
