Review: I have two complaints against UPMC. I went to the ER on May 5th because I had some chest pain the night before. My PCP said I should go just to make sure all is okay. I arrived in the ER at 2 pm. They did an EKG, an X-Ray of my chest, blood work, etc. and found nothing wrong. However, they would not let me leave. I was told if I did leave, it would be "Against Medical Advice". Furthermore, I had heard that leaving AMA means the insurance company would not pay for my treatment. So I was stuck. The reason they used to keep me overnight is that my oxygen saturation rate was too low. It was 94% when I got to the ER, dropped to 87% when they put me in a second ER room, and then went back up to 94% when they admitted me overnight. I have spoken to doctors since and it is illogical that my oxygen saturation rate could vary that quickly without any treatment. The machine, whether intentionally or unintentionally, that measures oxygen saturation rates in the second ER room was faulty. That background leads me to my two complaints. First, my overnight stay was unnecessary. UPMC fabricated reasons to keep me so I could not leave and they could charge my insurance company more money. It is a scam through the ER department. The second complaint is just around billing. I gave the hospital my [redacted] when I arrived. For some reason, they billed [redacted] I called and they said they corrected it. But 3 weeks later I noticed they had billed [redacted] again. I was told that their system showed [redacted] as the primary and [redacted] as secondary. That is not correct. Maybe [redacted] pays more so that is why UPMC keeps billing them. Their billing department is just a bunch of i
s who can't complete a simple task.I would never go back to UPMC and I am writing my story all over the internet so no one else visits that low-rate hospital.Desired Settlement: I don't know yet. I am waiting for the insurance to adjudicate my visit. My visit is going to be more expensive than necessary since UPMC falsely kept me overnight. I reserve the right to determine damages at a later date.

Review: Overpayment of Balance due on account. Payed the balance twice, first payment $338.28 on 4/25/2014 by debit card. Second payment on 5/20/2014 in the amount of $338.28 paid by debit card. Faxed copy of bank statement 3 times to ###-###-#### each time they acknowledged they received them. Have talked to 15 people plus about the overpayment of $338.28. Each time I have been told this payment has been credited to another account, but no one can tell me the account, and when they do give me an account number my insurance has paid the claim. I have been calling and dealing with this since 06/30/2014. Patient name [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of overpayment for the amount of $338.28 on account. Was paid twice by debit card in amount of $338.28.
