Review: The package sent thru this ups store was destroyed and never made it to it's destination. Online it says under investigation and this was sent 5-20
We are organic farmers and we send fruit by ups all the time. we packaged 20 pounds of apricots that were picked green on the same day that we mailed them. We know how to pack them so that they make it to the purchaser the box was labeled fragile. I went online to track the package and it said the package was destroyed and it was under investigation. For that box to have burst open they had to have tossed it like a football or thrown something very heavy on it. I called the Gridley ups store that I shipped it from and they were going to look into it. I have called 2 times and been into the store once and still don't have any answers. The tracking# is 1Z2R903RoXXXXXXXXX. I expected to get the shipping cost back which was $20.57 and the cost of the fruit $40.00, $60.57. Thank you for looking into this. Desired Settlement: refund of $60.57

This package was brought in and shipped (processed) out of our store. The UPS Store is independently owned and not an actual part of UPS. UPS picked up this package from our store and left our building at 5:30 p.m. The UPS Store did not damage this package, UPS did. We filed a complaint and received in writing from UPS "We are not liable for damage resulting from the perishable nature of the commodity shipped. To help avoid this problem in the future, UPS would be pleased to offer additional suggestions for improved packaging." Since we only processed the package and did not package it we have no idea how the product was actually packaged. UPS has denied the claim.

UPS should take responsibility for the damaged package because the fruit was picked the same day as shipped. Also it was packaged correctly. We ship this type of fruit all the time and we have never has this problem. Supposedly each package has $100.00 insurance. The complaint I have against the UPS store is that had contacted them 3 times by phone and 1 time going in the store and nobody could tell me what was happening. I would like to file a complaint on the ups that handled the package.
