I said in the beginning that my car was a lemon I believe they sold me a lemon this car has been in the shop 4 times now it's been in the shop for 2 weeks and then telling me the transmission need to be replaced they finally gave me a loaner car that broke down August 1st 2016 at 7 p.m. so I am very unhappy dealing with this company and I believe they should give me my money back or give me a new car

[redacted],We are sorry for the misunderstanding. The vehicle you purchased has a principal and interest balance that has been paid only a portion of the term.  Some lenders charge higher interest rate that may take longer to reduce the principal balance.  It is not uncommon to owe more...

than the present value of the vehicle for the first couple of years of ownership. As far as our advertising, we offer at times a $2,000.00 minimum trade allowance. If your trade is worth more we adjust accordingly.  Unfortunately, your vehicles actual cash value is lower because of the interest and depreciation. If we can help in any way to keep it safe and reliable, our service centers phone number is 570-562-AUTO.Michael G[redacted]Owner

8.5.2015[redacted], Unfortunately engine lights are challenging to all shops and we will be happy to re-evaluate your vehicle. I know we tried more than the gas cap and as far as ignoring you or being rude to any of our customers,  everyone knows that it is against our policies here at Gaughan...

Auto Store and Gaughan Auto Service Center and will not be tolerated.  Jerry and I feel we handled you with respect and we would like to set you up with an appointment to re-evaluate your vehicle.  We will also offer a service loaner to alleviate any more inconveniences to you.  Please call Gaughan Auto Service Center at 570-562-AUTO.Thank youMichael G[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:We purchased this warranty and did make them aware we were moving out of state and asked the manager (Jerry) when we brought it in for service a second time to fix the bearings, how that would affect our warranty. He  told us not to worry and to find a place down here and send the estimate and they will cover, which they did approx., two months previous (for the same bearing issue). Regardless of what Mr. Gaughan said about it being done without his approval. When we first contacted them about the problem they gave us the run around and wasted about 3 weeks of time. We were without the car a month and had to try to find transportation to work because we knew they wouldn't cover the car rental which was also supposed to be covered on the warranty. We were first told we had to bring the car back to Pennsylvania when we contacted them, then we were instructed to go to [redacted] by the girl in the office that we were working with (Lori) and she said they will take care of it so that is where we went. Please feel free to call [redacted] in Columbia, SC to find out how rude these people were to them also! When Gaughan Auto received the estimate from [redacted], Gaughan did not want to cover the total amount. They did not honor the warranty because they only paid a portion of the cost. We have a copy of the warranty which also states service to be done by Gaughan Auto "unless otherwise approved by them". So the owner could have approved it, they just did not want to pay when they found out what the cost was.  We paid thousands for a warranty because we knew we were buying a pre-owned vehicle and we also paid interest on that money because it was in with our loan. We also had someone from PA. reach out to us on [redacted] that read our review on Gaughan Auto website that purchased vehicles from Gaughan Auto and they told us they did this to them also. We saved the message.  We were without a vehicle for one month.  We were way below the mileage and the warranty is up in March 2016.  We just wanted them to do the right thing and stand behind the warranty we purchased.
Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted]5:12 PM (22 hours ago)to me I just got a message back from you guys about sending the warranty. Gaughans never gave me one

To whom it may concern,We are sorry for any inconvenience to [redacted] and his family.  It is unfortunate his per-owned vehicle had some unforeseen mechanical issues.  [redacted] purchased, with his vehicle, a Gaughan Auto Store Warranty.  He signed the warranty contract that...

states, agreed by both parties, warranty work is to only be done at Gaughan Auto Service Center unless otherwise authorized.[redacted] has moved out of state.  His warranty would still be honored as per signed contract if the work was to be done at Gaughan Auto Service Center.  The previous  service center manager had previously authorized work to be done out of state without the Gaughan Auto Service Centers  owners approval.  In some cases of breakdowns on vacation and such are understandable.  When these circumstances occur, under industry standard, we would make arrangements with a qualified service center to do the necessary repairs while using quality guaranteed used parts and Gaughan Auto Service Centers hourly rate.  Mr Stahley had paid out of pocket for a rebuild that typically costs more for parts and labor. In closing we had made a payment to [redacted] of $2200.00 that he agreed to with the owner per a phone conversation, before this complaint, for the repair he had paid out of pocket. We honored the warranty contract signed by [redacted]. Thank you,Michael G[redacted]Owner

Gaughan Auto Store114 South Main StreetTaylor, PA  18517To whom it may concern,We are very sorry it took as long as it did to find and repair the transmission in [redacted]s' car. We hope the loaner vehicle helped while we resolved this matter.[redacted] is a valued customer and we hope to see him in the future for all his vehicle needs.Michael G[redacted] Owner
