In response to the complaint posted by Mrs. [redacted] we did sign a contract in June to complete a bathroom remodel.  We informed Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] that we were backed up due to weather and also staffing issues.  They cordially replied and said that they are in no hurry to complete the...

project.   We stayed in contact with the [redacted]'s throughout the summer and kept them up to date with what are position was.  They had no issues and understood our situation.  We set a start date in October to start the job and the [redacted]'s called to cancel due to family issues.  The start date was postponed and our very tight scheduled had to be revamped.  We started the project and got nothing but great reviews and compliments from the [redacted]'s.  They also stated that they did not need a working bathroom and to take our time doing the  project.  After demoing, insulating, wiring, subfloor installation, taping, mudding, finishing sheetrock, painting, and installing tiles they contacted me saying that they were unhappy with the work.  This is puzzling to us at UCC because they were in aw with how great everything was until the hard portion of the bathroom remodel was complete and all was left was the small finish work.  in essence we did the most difficult, time consuming bulk work, while they arranged for "their friend" to complete the remaining small amount of finish work.  The [redacted]'s contacted me stating that there were issues with the tiles and painting.  We told them to send us pictures and we will be right out the resolve the issues.  Mr. [redacted] stated that he did not want us back and he was going to just "eat it and finish it with his friend".  I received an email one week later with pictures of a slightly unlevel tile and a request for a $1,375.00 refund.  We are still owed $1,375.00 on the job and would like to complete our contract and collect out balance.  Our contracted clearly states that "we own all labor and material on the project until the job is complete and paid in full".

Mr. [redacted]'s project has not gone smoothly from the start.  We do not take this situation lightly at Upstate Choice Contracting.  In our defense we have  had some unfortunate events that have delayed the completion of this project.  Lose of crew members and undesirable weather...

have played the major roles.  We have a solid plan and the guys to finish the job and we are back on it November 15th 2016.  We will be complete no later than November 19th 2016.  We acknowledge and appreciate Mr. [redacted]'s fristration and would like to finish the job and make him happy.

We will be refunding Mr. [redacted] as soon as we have the money.

She was refunded within a reasonable time frame.  She was refunded May 10th 2017 in full.
