We would like to thank The Revdex.com for affording us the opportunity to answer the complaint lodged against usUpton Realty Group is a boutique real estate brokerage houseWe follow the standard model of the real estate brokerage, in that an individual salesperson or broker is an
independent contractor with the firmWhile the office does have a broker of record who is ultimately responsible for the entire office, it is nevertheless each agent is responsibility to manage their book of business and their own clientsAn individual did come to our offices recently looking to obtain a copy of their listing agreementShe had indicated that she had changed her mind and was no longer interested in selling her apartment and wanted to know when the term of the listing agreement would expireMrZ***, the broker of record, asked which agent she was working with, the individual could not answer the questionIt is customary for this office to have owners of real property sign two copies the listing agreement: one for the office and one for the ownerWhen asked if she had received a c opy of the listing agreement at the time execution, she stated that she misplaced itShe was then asked to provide her driver’s license or other photo ID with her contact information and we would look in to see which agent she was working withShe refused to provide us with any such informationIt is highly unusual for someone to sign a listing agreement with a real estate agent and not know the name of the agent with whom they were workingUpton Realty Group prides itself on the relationships it fosters with its clientsOur client’s privacy is of the utmost importanceThis individual does not know the agent with whom she listed her apartment nor would she provide us with proof of her identity; as such it would have been highly improper of us to provide her with a copy of an agreement that is, for all intent and purposes, a privileged document between us and our clientThe individual behavior was very suspicious, especially given her refusal to provide us with proof of her identityIf this individual was indeed *** ***, then it would seem that (a) she would know the name of her agent, and/or (b) she would provide us with proof of identity so that we could quickly obtain the necessary informationIt is patently clear to us that this individual did not come to our office for the purpose stated nor was she there for any legitimate purposeWe respectfully request that the Revdex.com dismiss this frivolous complaint, which serves no intent other than to harass this firm and sully its otherwise stellar reputation

On or about September **, 2016, this firm submitted its position as to the frivolous complaint that was filed. We continue to stand by this position, and emphasize the suspicious behavior of the complainant in not providing the name of the agent representing her or providing us with proof of identity. At this juncture, this suspicion is heightened as complainant would now so freely provide information that she adamantly refused to give and brought about this nonsensical complaint. Nevertheless, to dispense with this trivial matter, the listing agreement has been terminated. To reiterate our firm’s philosophy: “At Upton Realty Group, we make clients into friends and friends into family.” We take pride in the relationships we have fostered with our clients. Our client’s privacy is of the utmost importance, and we will remain vigilant in ensuring that we maintain that privacy and to maintain our clients’ confidence in our services.
