Uptown Alley Reviews (4)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]

The General Manager,[redacted], spoke with the bartenders who served the guest as well as found both of the customer's receipts. Both receipts had his signature on them and matched each other.  [redacted] then spoke with the customer letting him know we have his signatures on...

both receipts. The customer responded that everything was fine and we were free to let the charges go through.

Review: My husband and I patronized this business during the holiday weekend and while eating appetizers, I began to realize that I had swallowed what I thought was a piece of hair. Once I actually pulled the "string" out of my throat, we realized that if it was hair, it certainly wasn't my hair but appeared to be something else. When the manager (Jimmy) came over, he apologized and pointed out that it appeared to be similar to a long piece of yarn and even looked like dental floss. He mentioned it could have been a piece of plastic of some sort. We weren't sure if it was in the guacamole or the wings that we ordered. The asst. manager apologized and said he would take care of the bill. About an hour later and after the bowling was complete, the same manager behaved as if he had never seen us before. He mentioned he didn't say he would take care of the bill and he also said "I didn't say it was yarn. I said it looked like hair maybe". I explained to him that I was disappointed in his change in behavior and resolution and his response was "that's your prerogative". Our bill was $15.80.

I work for a company that is a reoccurring customer of this bowling alley but I'm not so sure that is a great idea anymore.Desired Settlement: I would like to be contacted by the business to discuss this.

Review: On May 15th I was a customer at Uptown Alley. I had a tab open at the bar using my debit card. They swiped my card, kept the information and returned my card to me. I forgot to sign my bar tab. The next morning I checked my bank account and saw that my receipt for Uptown Alley was $33.48. When I looked at my bank account information a day or two later I noticed that the amount charged from my account from Uptown Alley went from $33.48 to $83.48. Soon after that I began to call Uptown Alley, my phone records only go back to 05/28/2015, and I began to leave messages. It took until 06/10/15 for a [redacted] to finally accept my phone calls and call me back. [redacted] gave me her cell phone number as it she state that it would be hard to get in touch with her in such a large place. [redacted] was very nice and apologetic and told me that she would need proof that the signature on the bar tab was not mine. I sent a picture copy to her using my cell phone. The next time I spoke with [redacted] she confirmed that the signature was not mine, she also stated that she was not at work at the time of my call and she wouldn't feel comfortable taking my debit card information at that time. This was the last time I heard from [redacted]. I called a couple of times a week understanding that she may be very busy. No avail. I began calling uptown Alley again on 07/24/2015 and began leaving messages for the GM as [redacted] would not return or answer my calls. I finally spoke with a women named [redacted] who assured me that she would get her GM in touch with me. Later that evening I received an email from [redacted] stating that she called me and left a message (she didn't) and then saying that I needed to send her a copy of my driver's license (fraud?) in order to determine that the signature was not mine. I do not believe that I can trust [redacted] and called back to speak with the GM. I was able to speak with [redacted] who told me that she was told not to speak with me. I was told that a GM would contact me multiple times, nothing.Desired Settlement: At this point I feel that Uptown Alley has stolen from me. I believe that one of their bartenders fraudulently signed my name and added a $50.00 tip thinking that no one would find out. It took almost a month for an employee to call me back. When I was contacted I was assured that the signature wasn't mine and this would be resolved. I thought I was in the home stretch. I was wrong, I was ignored and am still being ignored. What I want is a full refund of 83.46 but the $50 is fine.
