Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I entrusted in Jill and her salon staff that they were educated, credentialed, and qualified to perform the service that I was requesting. Jill emphatically insisted that her staff was qualified to perform the service. She was dishonest and the end result was that her stylist whom she claimed was qualified to perform the service destroyed my hair extensions beyond repair. Her staff member poured a corrosive product on my extensions and the end result was that they were destroyed. She is refusing to acknowledge this fact and accept accountability for this incident that occurred in her salon. I was lead to believe that this salon could take on this service when the reality is they were not qualified to do so. At no time was I ever offered by her or her staff to reimburse me for the hair that they destroyed nor was there any dialogue about having supplemental hair overnighted. I did not leave with a full head of extensions as she has claimed and they were certainly not of the quality that I came in with. She provided me with a very temporary solution that does not cover the cost of what I had to pay due to the negligence and dishonesty of her staff. The fact remains that her staff destroyed my extensions, no reimbursement was offered at any time, and I had suffer a huge financial loss due to her businesses lack of expertise and unprofessionalism including dishonesty. My request is fair and reasonable in requesting she reimburse me for the cost of the hair. I did pay for the installation on the hair which was $490.  I am not accepting this response as I feel it is Jill's responsibility to reimburse me for the cost of the hair that I had to repurchase due to her staff's lack of knowledge and expertise in this service.

Sept. 16, 2016Case #[redacted]Dear Revdex.com,In response to [redacted] letter:I am sorry to hear [redacted] is still distressed. As I stated in my last letter, I did everything [redacted] asked. I offered to replace the original extensions she had at my complete cost. [redacted] did not want to wait the one day it would have taken to have them overnighted to the salon. She asked to have the extensions I carried in the salon applied, and that is exactly what I did. I can understand her complaint if I hadn't offered that, but that is not the case. The extensions I carry in the salon are professional, high quality, human hair extensions. Although I do get them at cost, because of their quality, they are still expensive.[redacted] knew what these extensions were when she asked for them to be applied. As I have already given [redacted] a full head of high quality human hair extensions at no cost to her, I do not feel I should have to pay for another set of free hair extensions simply because it was "not what she was used to". Again, I did exactly as she herself asked me to do.I have two hairstylists that can verify all that was done, and all that I have stated, and I am completely comfortable calling them forward to do what is necessary to bring this to a close.I again offer [redacted] my apologies for this unfortunate situation, but I will not be paying for her new hair extensions again.Sincerely, Jill S[redacted]Owner/stylistUptown Girls Hair Studio

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the response. If the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]Complaint: [redacted]Hello,The reason why I am rejecting this claim is that while Jill partly replaced my extensions with what she had in stock, they were no where near what I had in terms of quality and cost. I also left the salon with half the hair that I came in with. The color did not match my own hair and they caused me discomfort several days after the application as they were not what I had. I had to cut my vacation short from Colorado and return to California promptly to hair new hair installed. This cost me hundreds of dollars in hotel fees and fuel fees not to mention emotional distress. To suggest that I left the salon happy after my extensions were destroyed and cut to be cut from my hair is ridiculous. The only thing I was happy about was to leave the salon after being there for 5 hours for a mistake that was caused by a stylists negligence. I understand that Jill had to absorb the cost of placing new hair however she gets that hair at cost and after all, her stylist was the one who destroyed them. I feel that it is more than fair to request that the salon reimburse me for the cost of the hair $416 . I did pay for the reinstallment of the hair which was $490 plus my costs of having to return home ahead of schedule on my vacation. I have provided a receipt to Jill for the cost of the hair I had to purchase. While it was a costly mistake, the grand total in which I suffered a financial loss was almost $1000.00 not including the costs of having to return to California. This is more than a fair and reasonable request  to be reimbursed for the cost of the hair. Sincerely,[redacted]

Sunday, August 28, 2016 Dear Sirs, [redacted] came into my salon on Wednesday July 20, 2016 to have her existing weft hair extensions re-applied. Normally I would remove all extensions, shampoo and dry the hair to ensure cleanliness and massage the scalp, then re-apply the extensions. [redacted] did not...

want all the extensions removed at the same time, and as customer satisfaction is my goal, I did as she asked and re-applied them individually. When the extensions were finished, [redacted] was pleased and asked for a shampoo and style at that time. Because I had come in on my day off to accommodate her, another stylist (Katherine S[redacted]) in the salon offered to shampoo and dry for her and I left the salon for home. Kat has several hair extension clients that she shampoo and styles weekly. All products in the salon are high end, professional products. The extensions became tangled during the shampoo and needed to be taken out. The extensions were not reusable. After calling both local beauty supplies and several local salons, I was unsuccessful in finding the weft extensions. I then offered to have the weft extensions overnight expressed to the salon so I could apply them the following day. [redacted] insisted she couldn't leave the salon without extensions because her boyfriend had never seen her without extensions before. I told her the other option would be that I could apply the I-tip extensions that I carried in the salon. She agreed that this is what she wanted. I applied the I-tip extensions and [redacted] was happy. As is custom in my salon, I always ensure that the client leaves happy and satisfied. As part of this etiquette, I did not charge [redacted]. This process cost me 5 hours of my time and service and the cost of the hair extensions I had in the salon totaling over $800.00. [redacted] left the salon happy and with new hair extensions at no cost to her. In the end, I did everything that [redacted] herself requested. She did offer to pay me for my services several times, but I declined her offer. Therefore, I do not feel I owe [redacted] money to cover new extensions. I'm not sure what happened after she left the salon that day, but I do know she left happy and with a set of brand new hair extensions at no cost to her. I have been a cosmetologist consistantly for 35 years and have never had a complaint filed. I take pride in my work ethics and I'm very sad that this unfortunate incident occurred, however I feel I fixed the the situation for her to the best of my ability and with what she asked for. Enclosed is a copy of the letter and receipt [redacted] sent to me, and also the letter I replied to her. Please forgive my timeframe, as I only check my mail at the salon every few weeks. Sincerely, Jill S[redacted] Owner/stylistUptown Girls Hair Studio[redacted]P.S. Please let me know the outcome of this situation.
