Uptown Granite & Tile Reviews (%countItem)

DO NOT EVER BUY from Uptown Granite and Tile; owned by Mike S. Our contractor directed us to them for our new granite countertop. They guaranteed us a 7-9 day install window. 19 days later we still did not have our countertop. Multiple appointments were scheduled for install and Mike just never called and never showed up. When he did show up, on his own schedule, the granite had been cut wrong for the sink and the sink was installed improperly. Mike refused to answer calls or return messages. He setup several appointments to come and try to fix the granite but was a no call no show every time. We wound up having to hire, and pay, a different granite company to come and fix all of the mistakes they could. STAY AWAY FROM UPTOWN GRANITE AND TILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. Absolute worst and most unprofessional group ever. All the other reviews sum up my whole experience with them. The company doesnt meet the promises and commitments they set. Drag you along. Install wrong colors and cracked pieces. All the while try to intimidate their clients like a bunch of high school loser punks when they have to be held accountable. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING MIKE OR DONNIE SAYS.

I gave Mike S $2149.00 as a down payment on Jan 24, 2020 to install granite countertops in my kitchen. I was in constant contact with Mike about what I wanted. I picked out the Granite Slabs from *** Surfaces. I sent him the information saying that both our names were on the paperwork. He assured me that he was going to pick it up the following week. Mike over and over again kept delaying, then he would tell me he was coming and never showed up. Finally did come to install the countertop on approx Feb 26. Later we discovered he put in the WRONG color. The installation job he did was shoddy, and he damaged my cabinets. He left our home in an unsafe manner. He then started demanding more money from us even though the job wasn't close to being finished. We contacted Mike and told him all of our issues. I showed him proof that he never bought granite from *** Surfaces. He still kept continuing to lie to me. I have tried countless times to work it out with him. I have emails and texts proving that he FLAT OUT LIED to me. He keeps "SAYING" he's going to refund my money. However no check ever shows up. He pulled a bait and switch. I've had it verified by 2 different granite places that he installed the wrong color. He seamed the granite over the middle of the dishwasher. Every tile place that has come and seen this said the same thing. YOU NEVER SEAM OVER A DISHWASHER! The heat will crack the seal over time. These are only a few of the issue we have with him. I have been at this for a month now. The stress has been unbelievable. It is going to cost me more money to have another granite company rip out and replace what he's done. It can't be salvaged at all.

Loved these guys and the team! Amazing work with competitive pricing. All-around very professional and affordable. The shop is very nice, spacious and clean. The way these men accommodate to your personal/work needs makes the world a difference. I love uptown granite and will definitely be using and recommending them again! Keep up the awesome work!

Michael S (Mike) the Uptown Granite Owner ***SCAMwho came to my house and he’s took my check $1500 deposit on 1/11/20 for quartz countertop installation. He signed the contract agreement and cashed out my money in the bank. Week by week, he told me that he was in Las Vegas, his men didn’t want to work, he was hospitalization, he was at the court for Jury duty, his poor health issues, he was in process of business moving and he will call you until he’s ready. He never called you and never come to work for you. I have lost my workdays and stay home because of his lacking. Until today 2/28/20, his *** excused makes people feel like the customer not being patient on his job. Also, He told me that he will never Refund the $$$ deposit money because of this is his best discount. I did look up his background and he has a bad records. He never refund my $$ money or complete the job as of today. He asked people to be patient with him but I shouldn’t trust this guy anymore.

We gave this business a $1700 deposit and scheduled delivery of the new countertops for about 9 days later. This company didn’t call when they didn’t show up and when I got ahold of them they rescheduled. . . We did this 3 times with a string of excuses from the owner. After the third time we requested a refund, they agreed they would refund our money ‘tomorrow’. We contacted again, they said we’ll refund Saturday. . . That was late December. Come to find out there are many people that have had their money stolen From this company. Check their

im sorry you feel that way. We fell behind do to the volume of work we had. We were 3 days late & we did contact you. You refused the install, after I talked to you , letting you know we had your material and were cutting your kitchen. We also issued a refund to you. Your credit card company is holding that, its already been taken out of my account. Thank you.

I started working with this Company on January 6th, they were suppose to install my countertops on January 10th. The owner was going on vacation but assured me the workers had 16 years experience and would install while he was gone. They never showed to install and asked us to re-schedule and did not show again. When Mike returned from vacation he came to install but they cut the countertops backwards. I then had to meet them and pick out a new countertop, that was on January 17th. I have still not be able to get him to install my new countertop, there have been multiple no shows on scheduled appointments. He was evicted from his previous shop, has the flu, workers not showing up, in the hospital for kidney stone and finally our of the hospital. The last install date he gave me was Saturday, February 8th but another no show. He said he would give me my 1,503.00 back so I could go somewhere else but he will not write me back or call me. I need help getting my money back.

I believe that you have had some difficulties and I have tried to be patient and give you the benefit of the doubt. It is true that you have moved and you have been recently communicating better. You recently wrote me and told me that you are starting the fabrication of my countertops and it will not be long until I get them installed. When this happens, I will provide an update and post pictures on your website to show the job. You say you are a man of your word and I want to believe that, I also want a young businessman to succeed and not cause trouble. Communication is the key and I will be more than willing to remove this and give a review once this is completed. I wish for your best as well as mine.

Gave a deposit to Uptown Granite and verbally communicated via text messages that it would be done in two days. That was 2 weeks ago. Business stated that has been sick for a month but was on vacation to Vegas during that time. Have tried to communicate back and nothing in return ? Keeps posting pictures of other projects completed.

No issues in service in July when installing our kitchen counters... We have since recommend them countless times. We wanted a scrap piece to go in our powder room. Paid deposit and check was cashed. Two no shows that we had to contact them to see what was happening instead of them calling us to let us know. No granite and no return of money and currently no new scheduled time to install.

Uptown Granite & Tile Response • Jan 27, 2020

My apologies for the misunderstanding. When we measured on Monday I discussed with you attempting to have your job installed two days later, however, we also discussed that I am in the process of moving to a larger shop and I have to complete jobs in the order they were received. I have two customers that are scheduled for full installs so I apologize again for your wait time. I appreciate your repeat business and recommendations and hope you understand my position, as I thought you did through our texts yesterday.

To clarify, there was no mention of moving when you were here on Monday or that when you scheduled time to be here that it was a maybe. The move was mentioned when you didn't show up the first time. The issue is not the move. The issue is that you wasted my time twice without calling. If you would have told us that you were three weeks out because you were moving...there would be no problem with that. My complaint is about no call, no shows. My complaint is about missing work and rearranging my day for no reason...twice.

Installed Mis measured granite countertops, unfinished caulking, and left behind bonding residue. Mike was contacted about the issues and stated he would come the next day for the repairs. Has been stating “tomorrow” for 20 plus days.
Will need to call another business to repair now at $400 cost

Uptown Granite & Tile Response • Oct 01, 2019

When we went out to do the measure, the part that they are saying is to big, is that way because the homeowner wife. My measure guy Cody asked her are you sure you want this to come out 3 inches. She said yes. We did install. A day later they call and said the refrigerator doesn't fit because of the 3 inch overhang. I tryed to make it out to fix but our schedule never matched up. So when the said they had another company coming. I offered to pick up the bill. I will 100% pay for the repair.
