I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I was already aware of this policy when I investigated UAG after its product failed protect my phone.  I am also not swayed that I am a purchaser through a re-seller which would seemingly invalidate any warranty.  I am not basing my complaint solely on the idea that I am protected under a limited warranty.  I am alleging that at least one, if not more, of UAG's product lines is entirely defective in its design.  Furthermore, UAG's response to my complaint is not a response to my experience but rather a simple "cut and paste" from its website.
The various wordings and graphics of the UAG website indicate to the average and/or reasonable consumer that this product (cell phone case) is suitable for military use.  After all, UAG touts that its products meet the standards of "Department of Defense MIL STD 810G - 516.6."  As such, the products should be able to withstand the harsh environments encountered by the military.  By logical extension, if UAG's products can withstand the battlefield, they should also withstand a 3ft drop onto pavement such as happened in my case.  My experience indicates that UAG products can't live up to their advertised durability...and if they can't, UAG marketing is entirely false.
I have also researched contacting the California Attorney General's Office to begin an inquiry into UAG's marketing and sales tactics.  I wouldn't be going this far if I had bought a product whose marketing and reputation fell short of UAG's advertising--in that case I would've truly assumed the risk.  My faith in a product does not come easily and I certainly do not take lightly the protection of a device whose retail cost approximates $650.  I did not find any other manufacturer (of cellphone cases) who boasted more strength and protection for my property than UAG.
In my opinion, UAG's products simply do not work and they expose the consumer to monetary loss.  I feel strongly enough about this that I am willing to ask the California AG to investigate whether the products truly do meet DOD MIL STD 810G - 516.6 and, moreover, whether UAG misrepresents its products.  I do not have the impression that UAG takes my matter seriously and therefore will not reimburse me in any way for my monetary loss and inconvenience.  I cannot predict the end-result of my quest but I chose Revdex.com as a means to save UAG some credibility IF a further investigation determines there actually is a problem in its design and marketing. For the sake of my further cooperation, feel free to relay my response back to UAG in the event my request for reimbursement is finally considered.  However, I feel that my hand is being forced and I will initiate my next course of action.
Regards,
[redacted]

Good Afternoon,Thank you for contacting us. We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. Urban Armor Gear Cases are approved by Met Laboratories, Inc., a NEBS Certified testing laboratory. This testing confirms devices protected by UAG cases are compliant with MIL-STD-810G 516.6. To...

achieve this certification, a device must be dropped from a height of 48 inches, on each face, corner, and back. The device is dropped a total of 26 times and must function properly after the test, while not sustaining any damage to the device. While our case is drop tested there are many factors that play a part in protecting a phone, especially the screen that are beyond our control. Should the screen become impacted directly unfortunately the case does not have an opportunity to fulfill its job in protecting the device. This is only one of the many scenarios where the case would not be able to protect the device. Because of these outside factors that are beyond our control unfortunately we do not cover the devices themselves in our warranty. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We currently offer a one year warranty from damages done to cases and would be happy to assist you with processing a warranty exchange if your case was damaged.
