Patient was seen and treated in our clinicWe ran appropriate tests due to the symptoms the patient presented withThe patient called the following day stating she had not improved, we returned her call at 2:25pm (per noted and time stamped in chart) patient did not answer and a voicemail was leftPatient called back and spoke with our Medical Assistant at 2:(per noted and time stamped in chart) patient was then prescribed a anti nausea medication and told to take antibiotics on full stomach to help with symptomsPatient was instructed during this call to recheck the following day if symptoms persisted I feel our clinical staff made every effort to contact and aid this patientWe did in fact return the phone calls she spoke of, and asked the patient to follow up which could have resulted in a clearer diagnosis, if one was needed Portland Urgent Care has a firm "patient satisfaction" policyTherefore I would like to offer the patient a full refund at this time due to her dissatisfaction with her visit at our clinic Mick N [redacted] Clinic Manager

ScottC***, our onsite Chiropractorwe billed her Insurance per her request at time of each visitAt that time DrC*** wasnot credentialed under the patients' Insurance plan and therefore the Insurance did not pay as much as it would have, had webeen credentialedThe patient was not informed of this credentialing matter, which leads us to the frustrations on the patientspart, and error on our side.I agree that the patient was not informed correctly or sufficiently regarding her benefitsOur lack of being credentialed with herspecific payer at her time of service with us led to her receiving a bill that was probably shocking and frustrating to receiveweapologize for this errorI am working tirelessly to resolve billing errors and oversights that occurred at our clinic during 2014-early prior to my arrival at the clinic, which was May 2015.I sincerely apologize to the patient, take responsibility for inaccurate information and I have adjusted off any balance thepatient had on her account.I tried to contact the patient via phone on two separate occasions to let her know of this resolution, but had to leave voicemailson both occasions.Please feel free to contact me directly with any further questions and or concerns.Best regardsMichelle * N***Clinical ManagerPortland Urgent Care /Portland Wellness Care*** ** *** ***Portland, Oregon 97212*** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meHowever, I would like this to be sent to Mr*** as I feel that he might want to review how this was handled: 1) a pregnancy test for diarrhea, vomiting, sulfur burps and dehydration? Which I was NOT informed I would be charged for until after? Please explain to me how that matched my symptoms and I was then diagnosed with giardia with no stool samplesNO stool samples were taken and that is the standard way to test for giardia, as I have since found out. 2) I was given a glass of water for dehydrationOne. 3) When I called in at 2:42, I was not in fact returning a callI was calling because I had not heard from anyoneMy phone did register a call or a voicemailI did not take the anti-nausea medication because I was unable to go at that point to get more medication and I was not nauseousWhich I stated at the timeI threw up the pill and was concerned about thatThat is not nausea. I am not satisfied that this was handled in a way that would help me get better, and that is reason I did not follow the suggestion to returnI had no faith that I would be taken care of and helped to get wellI will accept the refund, thank you very much for thatHowever, I think that this case should indicate to you that perhaps testing a woman for pregnancy because of a stomach ache (which is not what I had) is a truly terrible policy

Patient called back and spoke with our Medical Assistant at 2:42 (per noted and time stamped in chart) patient was then prescribed a anti nausea medication and told to take antibiotics on full stomach to help with symptoms. Patient was instructed during this call to recheck the following day if symptoms persisted.
I feel our clinical staff made every effort to contact and aid this patient. We did in fact return the phone calls she spoke of, and asked the patient to follow up which could have resulted in a clearer diagnosis, if one was needed.
Portland Urgent Care has a firm "patient satisfaction" policy. Therefore I would like to offer the patient a full refund at this time due to her dissatisfaction with her visit at our clinic.
