Thank you Revdex.com for calling this matter to our attention. As a gesture of good will, we have written off this patient's $25 balance. The patient called our Billing Department on June **. At that time we explained to him that our front-desk staff has no way of knowing every patient's exact copay amount,...

as patients have many different insurance plans, with many different copays and benefits, even within the same insurance company. Our registration form (signed by the patient at the visit) says "After my claim is submitted, I will be financially responsible for any out-of-pocket amount that my insurance carrier determines that I owe to Urgent-MD, including copay, deductible, and/or co-insurance." By signing this, the patient accepted his obligation to pay the full copay - if not at the visit itself, then after the claim is processed and the patient's insurance determines his remaining obligation. We do not determine copay amounts, and have no ability (let alone obligation, as the patient refers to it) to know them. Only the patient's insurance determines them (and determines that any unpaid portion remains the patient's obligation), and only they are able to inform the patient of them. The matter is between the patient and his insurance. We agree to settle the matter by writing off the patient's balance, and we wish him well. Thanks again Revdex.com for giving us this opportunity to respond.[redacted]Urgent-MD Family Urgent Care Centers

Review: My husband, step daughter and I have all used this urgent medical care center before this problem arose. They previously took our co payments and that was the extent of our payment to them. On 9/**/2014 my step daughter and I went into one of their centers. They took our copayment and we were seen by a doctor. On 9/**/2014 I went back to one of their centers because I was still in need of further medical care. Again, they took my copayment and I was seen. My husband went into on 9/*/2014 into one of their centers and he paid the copayment and was seen. I went in in October because I had Accidently cut myself while cooking. When I went in they informed me that they no longer took my insurance. I left and went to another urgent care center which is a few minutes away from this one. There they do accept my insurance. I have now been getting bills from this urgent care center for hundreds of dollars since we were seen there. I have called them numerous times and told them that I wasn't going to pay these bills because it was their oversight in NOT telling me that they no longer accepted my insurance and I asked them to wipe these bills clean. They have told me a supervisor would call me, and they would look into this matter. They have never done anything about these bills and just keep sending me them. If this continues, I am concerned that they will go to a collections agency and that is unfair to me. We were NOT notified regarding their change in accepting our insurance.Desired Settlement: I want these bills cleared, erased and I want a zero balance.

Our apologies to the patient and her family about the bills she has received - which were sent in error. She can rest assured that we would never have forwarded them to collections. All of her outstanding balances have been adjusted ("zeroed out"), and she can expect to receive no further bills from us.

Sincerely,

Review: I went to their [redacted] location on May **, 2015.

I was informed that the fee is $50.00

At no time did they inform that that was not the correct price, until I received a bill in the mail for an additional $25.00.

It is their obligation to properly inform me that the price of $50.00 may not have been the actual total cost.

Had they informed me, I would not have requested their services.

They have a responsibility to at least inform the consumer that there are additional fees, including the fact that they are well aware that if a card does not say "urgent care copay" on it there is probably a higher fee as told to me by one of their staff on this date.Desired Settlement: clear my balance, and take off the 25.00 charge from my account.
