UROK Learning Institute

Review: My son was funded for tutoring services by his school district. After attending a vendor fair, I chose UROK as our vendor based on the information I was provided and the services that were described by their representative. I was assured that UROK could provide services to special needs children (my son has special needs) and that they would be able to work with our schedule to find an appropriate tutor.

Several months later and after numerous phone calls on my part, a representative from UROK came out to evaluate my son and determine his biggest area of need. UROK then proceeded to obtain authorization from the school district and bill them for the assessment hours. After several more phone calls on my part, we finally got to the step of scheduling a tutor. When I inquired about the tutor's experience with special needs children I was told by [redacted] (the UROK representative assigned to my son) that he did not know the tutor's qualifications and would call me back. He never did. After several more calls on my part, [redacted] finally told me that the tutor did not have experience with specials needs kids and that because I had taken so long to decide that her only availability was Sunday afternoons. He further went on to tell me that this would be all that UROK would be offering me and instructed me to choose another vendor if I did not want what UROK was offering. [redacted] would not provide me any other options and would not allow me to speak to a supervisor. He insisted that I find another vendor.Desired Settlement: UROK put my son's tutoring services in jeopardy. The school district will only fund services through the end of the current school year and I am now left with no other option but to scramble for another vendor at the last minute. I no longer have the option to obtain information or make an informed decision about services. Furthermore, due to the fact that UROK billed the school district for hours spent performing my son's assessment, his tutoring service hours were decreased to adjust for those billed hours. I am now stuck trying to find whatever vendor is available with no knowldege of the quality of their services and to accept fewer tutoring hours for my son due to the misrepresntations on the part of UROK and their extremely poor customer service. If I am unable to get tutoring services in place then my son will have lost out on a much needed service due to no fault of his or my own. UROK blatantly and knowingly failed to honor their agreement.
