Review: I called and cancelled there services, and they said it would take 15-21 days for them to process this case, but it is over a month and a half, and I phoned several times, and they keep saying two or three days, but this has been since the end of September, and the account is still not off my credit card.Desired Settlement: Want it off my credit card-[redacted].

Response:

At the request of the customer ' Rosyln Hills' was refunded partial refund of $ 154.54 on August [redacted], 2015. She never contacted our customer service/billing department till now. She had been calling the sale rep for the refund. Our refund policy is well documented on our invoice and end user agreement. However, the balance refund of $ 290.45 was refunded last week. This closes the matter to the satisfaction of the customer.

Yes, this is true, but I am waiting to see, if the invoice goes through as it takes, 2-5 business days to process, also the sales rep. did not contact the accounts department, as they said they didn't have the correct address, but did not phone to get it. They told me not to contact the accounts department, because he was worried about his job. [redacted]

Response:

The customer purchased 1 year technical support and AVG AVS on 3/**/16 at 5.53 pm EST. The customer did not allow us to remove the current AVS Norton on his computer and without removing his current services it was not possible to install the AVG AVS that he had purchased. We called the customer today 3/**/16 and reiterated the above information and also offered that our technician would install the AVG Antivirus on his computer but the customer was not home and agreed to have the link emailed to him. We then emailed the customer a link for installing the AVG AVSon his computer. However, we refunded the customers money as he told the technician later that he did not want the service. Here is a copy of the refund[redacted] This closes the matter. We tried our best to help the customer any way we could.

Their (business) description of occurance is not what transformed. ASLO: NO REFUND TOOK PLACE as of 3/**/2016 @ 5:54 pm MDT.Business (tech) supervisor reported on last phone conversation a new tech. had determined NO VIRUS was present, yet continued to continue computer clean-up, which was un necessary. I believe AVG (portraying self as [redacted]) falsely presented a virus (KOOB), that didn't exist, then proceeded to take funds to falsely remove (non-existent) virus.SCAMMED

Response:

The customer was issued a refund the very same day that the alleged issue was made in spite of strongly disagreeing with the customer. We spoke to the customer and he refused to get AVG AVS so we issued a refund and closed the matter. The customer has been clearly informed that we are an independent company and not affiliated to any such brands that the customer is mentioning and we are an authorized reseller for AVG. Here is the screenshot of the refund, please note the date and time if the refund, it was issued the very same day the alleged request was made by the customer. We strongly protest that Revdex.com is not the forum to check for refunds. If the customer wanted to check status of the refund, they should have contacted us. We will no longer entertain any such request thru Revdex.com by this customer. [redacted]

Review: The company portrayed themselves to me as [redacted] support. They put an [redacted] pop up window on my computer saying my computer was at risk of crashing, and I need to call the support number right away. It looked as an actual [redacted] window, which I clarified with [redacted] was nothing to do with them. I called and they told me I need to put the virus protection on my computer right away and it would cost $200. So I did that and found out they are nothing to do with [redacted], when I clearly asked them on the phone a few times if they were actually the [redacted] support. This company is fraud! [redacted] is aware of this company as well, its been happening a lot apparently!Desired Settlement: I want a full refund.

Response:

The customer is falsely alleging that we portrayed ourselves as [redacted] Support. We do not have any means to put anything on any one’s computer, including that of this customer. [redacted] called our technical support team on 2/**/2016 seeking help with her computer device. We offered our services for repairing the device and sent her an invoice in the amount of $ 147.99 (copy enclosed) for payment to initiate the services. The Invoice clearly indicated the name of the company and the services offered. She made the payment on her own using the pay link on the Invoice. We also emailed her an end user agreement (EUA) defining the terms of the services clearly informing her that we are an independent technical support company and are not affiliated or endorsed by any company whose products we service. All brands …. belong to individual companies. (Read para e of the EUA attached herewith) First, the customer is falsely claiming for a purchase of $ 200 when the sale was of US $ 147.99, as evidenced by the invoice attached. Second, she is falsely alleging for misrepresentation as our end user agreement which was signed by her clearly stated about our company. The customer electronically signed the end user agreement which is evidenced by the IP address of her address, all attached as evidence to support that she was fully informed about our company and services. The customer bought the services on 2.**.16. Subsequently the customer sent us an email on 2.**.16 at 12:35 pm and before my technician could even get in touch with her to try to resolve the issue, she filed a complaint with Revdex.com by 4:30 pm accusing us of being ‘fraud’. However, it is not possible to assist the customer who having received full disclosure is now making false allegations of fraud. We will not entertain any request for refund as she is falsely alleging that our company is a fraud without any proof to support her claim. We may at our own time sue for damages for maligning and slander against the company.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The company is lying about the whole situation. They DID put a pop up window on my computer, other people have had the exact same complaint as you can see. I did not just randomly call this company, I have never even heard of them before. I did ask a few times for them to clarify that they were [redacted] support, they repeatedly assured me they were. This is fraud! If its not, then what is? You can clearly see the problem, the company has done the same thing to other people. I called them immediately after I found out they were not [redacted] support and asked for a refund. They refused to give me a refund within the same day. Then I reported this to Revdex.com. After I reported it, a lady from the company called me yelling at me for contacting Revdex.com. She told me if I delete it she would give me a refund. I said I would not delete it until they give me a refund first. She refused and hung up on me. This company should be shut down! They do shady business to get customers. Then they make it like what they are doing is legit. If they are not fraud, why will they not refund my money? I don't want their services and never used their services. And I say $200 because its $149 US which came to $200 Canadian. I don't have any reason to lie, but this company does. And if someone doesn't stop it, they will continue to do this! Response:

The customer continues to make false alligations and accuse us for something we did not do. The customer first used her husbands credit card which she is NOT AUTHORIZED to use (as admitted by the customer herself in the email she sent us, attached is a screenshot of the customers email) and then she continues to accuse us falsely to get rid of the charge. We did tell the customer that we would be happy to resolve the issue and talk to the customer but not if she keeps falsely accusing our company, we provided a service and she is the one who called us. We will be suing the customer for the false accusation, slandering of our business and fraudulently signing on a card that she is not authorized to sign for in the first place as admitted by her. Here is the email from the customer where she herself admits she is not authorized to use her husbands card and where she refuses to call us to resolve the issue. [redacted]

Review: A pop up came with your number on july ** saying my computer may have been compromised. I called your number and I guess you guys "fixed" my computer . I couldn't really hear the technician and was not sure what exactly he was selling. We had to hang up and call back twice because of the connection. I went to [redacted] store after purchasing there service and they informed me there was no virus on my computer and nothing wrong with my computer. Also nothing was even done to my computer. The next day my roommate got the dame pop up only I told him to take it to [redacted] care before he called the number and once again there was no problem on his computer either. Obviously I was scammed by Urtechmate inc and Im upset I paid 129.99 for something that was not even needed. I want a full refund.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back.

Rebuttal to the Customer’s Statement of the ProblemWe have reviewed the alleged complaint of the customer ‘[redacted]”. This customer called us for one time support services on July [redacted] and we did provide services to the customer by scanning his hard drive for any viruses and hardware configuration settings. The customer was free to take the computer to [redacted] support and not call us for services. Please see attached the following documents:1. Copy of the commercial invoice2. End user agreement signed electronically by the customer. The above documents duly support that the customer entered into a service agreement with us and agreed to the terms of use and we provided one time support services to him on his request only. Our refund policy clearly states that there will be no refund for one time support services (See page No.2 of the End User Agreement- Copy attached.) The customer has agreed to the terms of use & refund policy. No refund is due. We can’t refund the customer as per the refund policy as the customer did receive the services as acknowledged by him in his statement stating that quote “ you guys fixed my computer” unquote. The customer is free to call us on our customer service support phone ###-###-#### between Mon to Fri during the office hours 10 am to 5 pm EST and we will make an effort to work with him.

Review: On May [redacted] my father's personal computer locked-up and he was no longer able to use it. He did however conveniently receive an advertisement message on the computer screen from Urtech saying to call them to resolve the problem. They determined that his computer supposedly had several intrusions and that they could fix it for $399. This is a lot of money for him as he is a senior citizen on a fixed budget. However, he is not very computer savvy, so unfortunately he went along with it. He has since spoken with me and my wife and we told him that we coincidently had had the same occurrence with our home computer a few days earlier. Fortunately, we did not go along with it and we were able to resolve our computer problem by simply rebooting the machine. This makes me suspicious of Urtech. It seems they are deliberately targeting people's computers in an effort to sell "repair" services to unsuspecting users. They were paid a lot of money to fix a problem that did not previously exist. For the amount of money they charged him, he could have bought a whole new computer.Desired Settlement: I want a 100% refund for my father as I do not believe this company provided any service and I do not trust this organization to do business with him going forward. I am prepared to take this up with the appropriate authorities if I do not receive satisfactory resolution of this matter.

Rebuttal: Issue: One year Service Plan of $398.00 Rebut: Please be advised that the customer willingly subscribed toour services for one full year at a fee of $398.00. The customer was provided acopy of invoice and terms of use agreement which he signed electronically. Wecalled the customer on [redacted] April, 2015 for verification of the saleand sent him an email. No reply or response was received back from thecustomer. (Copy of the email attached.) We do not agree with the complaint that the services are notvalued at $398.00. The services are for one year of full technical support. Theservices are more expensive than buying the hardware. The customer willinglyagreed for the terms & condition. Please see attached copy of End user agreement& invoice. Please find herewith attached copy of the end user agreementwhich was accepted by the customer. One of the condition of the agreement isthat the customer will not dispute the charges without giving Urtechies an opportunityto remedy any issues with the subscription. Finally, based on the terms of our agreement, we can providea refund of $238.80 which is 60% of the amount to the customer. The customer is advised to contact our customer service at###-###-#### for the refund of $238.80 as per the end user agreement.

Review: This is a computer scam.

After receiving a normal popup stating that an update was needed for MS Office...on my Mac. I did the upgrade and then a message popped stating...

Security Alert: Contact [redacted] Certified Techs ###-###-####.

Feeling uneasy about paying $350, I called [redacted] directly where I was told they do NOT outsource techs. They walked me through to remove the software they had installed on my computer. Contacted these people and my CC company to cancel the card. Finally after leaving messages, on the same numbers that they called me on...but wouldn't answer...I left several messages telling stating I was contacting the police and everyone else to their scam. Much later they called me back but still wanted their money or even a percentage. I took pictures with my phone of the "alert" and other info, which I've printed, if needed.

This so called company isn't legit. Their "OUT" I guess is... 'that's not the number that you called us...we don't know that number". But it did route that number TO THEM.Desired Settlement: Shut them down and advise others so they too...aren't ripped off. Reimbursement would be nice!
