Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. Dear Sir,
This complaint was closed by the Revdex.com due to lack of response from the business on June 25, 2015. I filed suit against US Air Conditioning Distributors LLC and Johnson Controls Inc(aka York) in the 4rth Judicial District, Small Claims Department on June 30,
If either of the businesses involved - Johnson/York OR US Airconditioning Distributors - had honestly made an offer of a “free” furnace (regardless of brand), would any practical person would have turned it down?

This has been Resolved

This letter is in response to Ms. [redacted] complaint against US Airconditioning. Ms. [redacted] furnace carried a 5 year limited part warranty and limited lifetime heat exchanger warranty to the original owner, or 20 year limited heat exchanger warranty to a subsequent owner, from the date...

of installation. The manufacturer's warranty only includes the furnishing of replacement parts that fail within a specified length of time due to manufacturing defects. In general, this is the standard manufacturer's warranty in the heating and air conditioning industry. There are times when the installing contractors often include a one year labor warranty in the total price of installation. When this warranty is included, it is noted in the contractor's sales proposal or on the contractor's invoice when the installation is completed. Some contractors also offer longer labor warranties but these are almost always sold for an additional price. Johnson Controls also offers reasonably priced extended warranties providing coverage of parts and labor for up to 10 years, with the option for yearly renewal. Our records do not indicate any applicable extended coverage on the referenced equipment. These furnaces are designed to have two heat exchangers, a primary and a secondary. Western Heating ordered both without actually verifying which of them needed, in their opinion, to be replaced. One was in stock in Boise the other backordered from factory. The installing contractor was told this was not an in stock item and would take time to get parts here from the factory. After about a week, the contractor called for update. The heat exchanger was still not available at the factory. At this time we were asked what our options were and we advised the factory that this was a no heat situation on February 5th. they in turn made this a high priority status on the order. The factory determined on February 6th that this part was not available and that the servicing dealer was advised thatthey were authorized to furnish a new York brand furnace in lieu of the heat exchanger. The next week heard was that the customer and installing contractor had replaced the furnace with that of another manufacturer on February 9th. The installing contractor is a Factory Dealer of this other brand so this ultimately is the brand they would try to push, without giving us the opportunity to help alleviate this situation. It is also very common when a furnace is "condemned" for a cracked heat exchanger the homeowner get a second opinion from another service company or to ask Intermountain Gas to come and verify if the furnace actually has a cracked heat exchanger. Neither of these actions took place by Ms. [redacted]. As the furnace has been replaced with a non Johnson Controls product we are only able to offer the warranty cost of the primary and secondary heat exchanger, $321.06. Western Heating & Air Conditioning has been contacted and they have agreed to file the warranty claim and reimburse Ms. [redacted]. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, US Airconditioning Distributors 594 N. Dupont Ave.
