U.S. Collections West, Inc. Reviews (65)

Well it is great seeing I am not the only one this has all happened to. I paid my garnishment off about a year and a half ago. Recently I got garnishment papers AGAIN for the same exact debt. When I called the collection agency I was spoken too like I was a criminal and ignorant. Sonya M[redacted] was my case worker and was EXTREMELY horrible. I also have a David P[redacted] I am currently working with and he explained to me that "I got myself into this debt" when explaining I have ALREADY paid this off in full. I called today to ask what my end total was and he told me it was $800 more than what is really due. He hung up on me after cutting off every word I was trying to speak, he told me I was wasting him time. Who the hell hires scums like this!?? I decided to bring this case to my lawyer and low and behold found out that the 2nd garnishment they are trying to go after me for is actually invalid. We are fighting this so called company and I will be getting back my $4,500 they owe me! This company is completely sick and obviously will not be open for much longer.

Review: A representative who only identified himself as [redacted] contacted my mother on the morning of 4/1/2015 via her mobile phone. My mother provided me the number [redacted] left for me to return his call. Upon my initial call with [redacted], he never identified what company he represented, only read a collection disclosure and proceeded to ask for a payment in excess of $3,000.00 for a rental eviction judgement. [redacted] told me people dont want to pay debts, and if I were concerned with paying my debt I would have done so previously which I took offensive. I advised [redacted] this was unexpected, and if he can send something in writing showing the debt owed and [redacted] told me no he cannot, and that in doing so it will cost him "$2.00 or $3.00 dollars, and if I know I owe something, why do I need to see it in writing". I then asked if the company accepted settlements for debts and he stated yes they do, and immediately asked for debit card information. I told him I did not have the funds at the moment for a settlement for approximately $1500.00 and after I recieved information about the debt via mail I would need 3-4 weeks to make a lump sum payment. The phone call ended, and I recieved a call from [redacted] on 4/3/2015 stating it was a courtesy call and he forwarded the account for wage garnishment because I would not give him a payment on 4/01/2015. He stated if I gave him $500.00 during the call he would stop it, otherwise he could not help me, then proceeded to hang up on me. I contacted back, however I was sent to voicemail several times, until [redacted] answered again and told me he wants nothing to do with me, and that I will be garnished. This is highly unacceptable, I have never recieved anything in writing regarding this debt, and when requested it was denied. Also to send the account for garnishment after ONE phone call is ludicrous. I eventually found out the company name, however I have yet to recieve any information about the debt, only threats of garnishments if I do not pay $500.00 immediately, or send a post dated check which is against collections practices.Desired Settlement: Based on unfair, and deceptive collection practices I believe this debt should be forgiven. The phone calls with the company are recorded, and I would like them reviewed if possible.

Response:

On 3-31-15, Mr. [redacted] called me wanting information on his account placed for collections. Mr. [redacted] refused to identify the nature of his call other than he wanted information. I could not confirm who he was so I did not state the name of our firm, but I did identify myself. I did have to get a supervisor to assist in verifying his identity. Mr. [redacted] claims I said I would not send documents on this account. I did not because he would not give his address information. I mentioned a few possible addresses that I located, including [redacted] Corona, CA 92879. He said "yeah, there" even though it was verified that the address is his mother's address.Mr. [redacted] claimed I offered $500.00 to stop proceedings, this is incorrect. My supervisor made the offer to pull the file from being forwarded to our finalization department if he committed to a voluntary payment. Again, he refused. No mention of any garnishment was made prior to obtaining suit authorization from our client. Only once suit authorization was obtained, I did make a final call to Mr. [redacted] to inform him his account would be forwarded to a newly assigned representative in our finalization department to execute on the judgment if no agreement was reached. He would not commit. The call terminated, the account was submitted to the finalization department. "Attached is an e-mail obtained from Mr. [redacted] to the newly assigned representative, Richard Bryant, indicating he had changed his perspective on our company and has agreed to the terms.

I attemtped to contact the U.S. Collections West inorder to resolve my account of debt. When speaking to [redacted] the account representative he became unacceptably full-mouthed speaking to me in a debased tone of voice. This is unacceptable for a customer to be compelled to this. When asking to speak to another representative it was obvious that my personal matter was the office gossip. As I was speaking to a, [redacted], moreover, she continued with an uneccessary upheaval of my matter. There was an absolute roaring of vile customer service over the telephone. I had one question that I asked politely and while being on the phone for fifteen minutes I did not get any help concerning my personal account with the U.S. Collections West. Most unfortunate that my account remains with these account representatives [redacted] and [redacted], as I am suppose to trust these individuals with my important personal information and security of my account. I hope this reaches the right personnel who can handle this matter with greater enactment.

Review: US West Collections took over an alleged "debt" regarding Fernwood Apts - [redacted], Tempe, AZ 85282. The debt is invalid and the debt itself violated numerous Landlord-Tenant Acts. Us West Collections did not perform its due diligence to ensure that the debt was valid and without error. Further, the collection agent [redacted] performed numerous violations during on phone call with me on April 1, 2014. This includes violation [redacted] and [redacted] by using scare tactics such as "I've been in court all day" although Ms. [redacted] is not an attorney and US West Collections is not a law firm. Ms. [redacted] also ridiculed me for trying to rent a new home for my family, and for applying for a second (cheap) mode of transportation due to my son starting school and me needing to commute to work. This violated [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] also falsely stated she would request to have her "client" file suit against me. This violates [redacted]. This debt collector purchased the debt and is now acting on its own behalf, not of any clients. I even attempted to submit a settlement offer (even though I disagree with this charge completely - which ethically and legally would need to be considered) but Ms. [redacted] simply stated she would not entertain any sort of settlement offer that was of the price I was asking. She stated her "client" would not accept it, even though there is no client. Even further, US Collections West then proceeded to falsely report this "debt" to [redacted], which has hampered my ability to be approved for a rental home. US Collections West and its president [redacted] were found to be in violation of these same laws/statutes and were ordered to cease these deceptive and unlawful tactics by [redacted]). Due to my experience, they have not stopped doing so.Desired Settlement: I request a letter from US Collections West stating that this matter has been resolved by taking it off of [redacted] and closing the account as it was opened in error.

Response:

Dear Ms. Mosley,

On 4-1-14 I did have a call transferred to me by my manager. I took the call, at that time the consumer did state he had been trying to get ahold of me all morning. I did apologize and advised him I had been in court all morning for the company.

I did ID consumer as well as myself and gave the [redacted] and advised consumer that the call may be recorded for quality and training purposes.

He stated he was upset at the client because he had a verbal agreement. I asked if he had anything in writing he stated he did not. I advised him that it was just a verbal agreement between two parties and nothing I could do. He then stated this debt was in error. I went to the contract and asked if he did sign the contract he stated yes and that he was trying to rent a house for his family and wanted to settle this account for $500.00, I advised him I could not do that as we are unable to settle anything less than 80% o the remaining balance owed.

The consumer states in his complaint that I ridiculed him regarding the house he wanted to rent. I advised the consumer he is trying for a house and he need to get this account paid first. I stated my job was to collect money or offer a settlement. I advised him my job was to help the consumer find a way to pay the bill and also protect my client. I did advise this was not a purchased debt and that I was collecting on behalf of my client [redacted]. The consumer then advised me that he works for a law firm and started asking questions regarding the contract and laws. I advised the consumer I was not an attorney and I cannot give him any advice. The consumer then asked when the first letter was sent out. He stated he never got the first letter. I advised the consumer that we sent it out when we got the account. He started he never received the letter. I re-verified his address and advised we have a good address and we never got a mail return and this is why I sent out a settlement offer to him in hopes we can get this resolved. The consumer also stated that if we did not take the $500.00 to close the account he would have this discharged in his bankruptcy.

The consumer was not happy and said he was going to file bankruptcy. I again verified his home address and place of employment with the consumer and I advised him I will request suit authorization from our client today. I also advised the consumer he can call me back with his attorney information.

Sincerely Yours,

Account Representative

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The reply back from Ms. [redacted]is full of untruths that were not stated over the phone. At no time did Ms. [redacted] allege that the debt was not a purchased debt, nor did she ever state that she was not an attorney and would not provide legal advice on the contract in question. Further, Ms. [redacted] stated that the call was being recorded (a typical tactic used by collection agencies to scare an alleged "debtor".) If this call was recorded, then surely US Collections West can provide such a recording and prove that these were said over the phone to me. If not, then this was just another false representation used against me. Stating that "I've been in court all day" and now advising Revdex.com that she told me she was not an attorney? This is extremely contradicting. Why would an "account representative" appear in court matters on behalf of her company if she is not an attorney? A collection agency is NOT a law firm and CANNOT appear in court on behalf of their alleged "clients." Further, I have researched court cases and have seen that US Collections West appears as the plaintiff in civil court cases. If US Collections West was simply "representing their clients" then the plaintiff would be the actual name of the client ([redacted]) and NOT US Collections West. This proves that US Collections West is purchasing debts, inheriting the debt as their own and then files suits in their own name. Previously, US Collections West did this and then acted as their own attorney, which is illegal. Whether or not US Collections West then hires an attorney to represent themselves as the CLIENT in the matter remains to be seen as there are no attorneys on record in the [redacted] search sites.Additionally, US Collections West and Ms. [redacted] are not performing their due diligence in ensuring that the collection matters they handle are legal. Ms. [redacted] constantly stated that the "client" requires a written notice that they specifically use in order to correctly provide a notice to vacate. This is simply not required by the [redacted]. I provided a written notice to vacate that was signed to the landlord. They cannot simply deny this written notice due to it not being their own "specific" form. Additionally, Ms. [redacted] stated that I owed 60 days of rent AFTER our move out date and stated it was binding in the contract. US Collections West and Ms. [redacted] apparently have never read the [redacted] which requires only 30 days of rent after a move out date. Even more startling is the fact that our move out was DUE to thelandlord RENTING OUT THE UNIT before we even provided a notice to vacate or had moved out. Therefore, [redacted] (fka [redacted]) is charging DOUBLE RENT, a severe and clear violation of the [redacted] by not only collecting rent from a tenant who moved in immediately after our move out, but are now trying to collect two months from us that were already paid by another tenant. Ms. [redacted] claims that this charge to us was a "buyout" charge that is also in the contract. This is again, violation and is against the [redacted] which SUPERCEDES anything to the contrary found within the rental contract. Even further, Ms. [redacted] never requested my attorney call back. If she had the slightest inclination to follow correct [redacted] procedures, then if I had stated over the phone that I had an attorney then she would had needed to request my attorney call back and to cease any further communication with me directly unless my “attorney” provides a written notice stating she could talk to me directly. She never did this. We had a 25-30 minute conversation. If I had already been represented by counsel, I would not had wasted my time on such a call.I have spent countless hours now researching case law, calling US Collections West, calling [redacted] (management company for [redacted]), calling [redacted] directly, speaking with attorneys whodeal with these matters, suffering a lost chance at a home rental, mental anguish over a debt that is not even valid, and harassment. I am beyond agitated and feel that that 10+ hours I have spent on this matter are worth a compensation in this matter. There is a slew of [redacted] and [redacted] violations that have been caused here. This reply from Ms. [redacted] providing lies to Revdex.com regarding our conversation is just further adding to the deception of this entire matter. Regards,[redacted]

Review: My roommate left me in am appt I could not afford years back so I had no choice to move out . its been over 4 years and never heard anything from this agency. Recently I tried qualifying for a home and this appeared to be on my credit. I immediately contacted collections and let them know that I barely became aware of a fine of almost 6,000 dollars and the boss [redacted] said that I could call back when I get taxes and pay it off between my old roommate and I buy interest would accumulate. Well today I recrave a call from an [redacted] stating that I am lying about my conversation with the boss [redacted] and that I'm obligated to make monthly payments of at least 150 which I mentioned I cannot afford at the time . I advised this [redacted] guy that I was never contacted and that I contacted them one month ago when they ran my credit and that I can male payments of 25-50 dollars monthly until April. He laughed at me ams said that what I'm offering is not good enough and that I will be getting legal actions taken against me even though I said that we would have it paid off with income tax money. [redacted] continued harassing and making fun of the fact that what I can afford is not good enough . I think this is very unprofessional and rude how he acted towards me. Had I known about this four years ago it would have been taken care of . I cannot pull 6000 dollars out in a couple weeks like he assumed I could . he threatened me by stating that he knows where I work I assume to try and garnish my wages but I don't believe this my fault that it never has showed up on my credit reports until this last month ?Desired Settlement: I would like for them to accept that between my old roommate and I we will pay off this debt during income tax season and please stop being harassed and threatened .

To Whom It May Concern:On 5/1/13 we sent her our 1" demand letter. On 6/19/15 the consumer called in regarding her account, She mentioned a $6000.00 fee on her credit. I advised her she had a debt for $5757.68 at which point she mentioned she did not have a lump sum to apply towards this.I never informed consumer she could postpone paying until her taxes came in, nor did w"' discuss the co maker's obligation to this debt. We have no one here named [redacted] or [redacted].On 7/14/2015 [redacted] called [redacted] regarding the apartment lease at [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] stated that she found out about tt1is account years after, this was reported in June2013Ms. [redacted] stated to Mr. [redacted] she wanted to pay the account when she received her taxes next year. Mr [redacted] attempted to negotiate with Ms. [redacted] a payment plan until she received her tax return, but she was not happy with the amount that he offered which was $150.00 per month. She countered stating thatshe would like to pay$ 25.00 per month. Ms. [redacted] stated to Mr. [redacted] that I approvecl such arrangements, He mentioned to her that $he must have misunderstood him and advised her at this time he would not grant her request for that arrangement. In no point of the conversation did Mr. [redacted] laugh at the consumer. He did advise her that we would be protecting our client's intere$t and seeking other remedie' to resolve the account.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The gentleman I had spoken with was unsatisfied with me being Able to make any type of payments if it was anything less than $150. I never once received a letter in 2013 as they stated in their response. If so, I wouldn't have called back years later to try and see what this amount was. If it hadn't been for the mortgage lender, I would have never known about this .I would like to stop being harassed by this company and I will pay my half during income tax season .

Dear Ms. Garcia,We feel $150.00 per month is very reasonable for a $5,000.00 bill. I can not answer to what she did with the letter we sent her in 2013.Ms.Perea has not been harassed and there is no half of this bill, it is one bill.Sincerely Yours,[redacted]Account Representative

Review: I receive my first and only letter from U.S. Collections West, Inc in March. Their letter was dated February 25, 2015. I contacted them right away regarding the account. The service with the original creditor had occurred over a year prior. When the original lender sent me a statement I sent them a check and had no cause to worry about anything. I didn't receive any other delinquency letters after the first bill from the original creditor. [redacted] was supposed to my account representative and I called left a message for him. I heard from him one via voicemail, but I couldn't get ahold of him live. So I called his supervisor [redacted]. He told me I could try and contact the original creditor to get it resolve but told me that sometimes the original creditor will tell them that it was a settlement and not paid in full and not remove from the credit report. I was told it would pretty much be easier to verify the debt then pay it with them and they can delete the account from my credit report. They sent me the account information they had, received this in March, and it was dated March 10, 2015. I called [redacted] to make the payment and told him I just wanted to get this taken care of and deleted off my credit report. He proceeded to say "Well you're the one calling me Ms. [redacted]", with a smart tone in his voice. So I was surprised by his lack of professionalism. I made the payment on March 25, 2015. This matter was resolved in one month. As of today the account has yet to be deleted as promised, the next time they updated their records, which I was told in the next week or so.Desired Settlement: I want this account deleted from my report as promised. How fast the account was resolved is a clear indication that this had to be a type of clerical error.

SORRY we have not responded to this complaint got past us, a formal response to the complaint will be sent next week, no one ever told the consumer we would delete from her credit, she knew she had the debt and waited over 30 days to make payment from the date we mailed our notice to her informing her that if the debt\ was not paid with in 30 days it would be reported to her credit, she failed to pay with in those 30 days, thanks [redacted]PresidentU.S. Collections West, Inc.[redacted]Phoenix, AZ 85029###-###-####toll free ###-###-####

To Whom It May Concern: On 3-20-15 [redacted] called out office and spoke to [redacted]. All of our calls are monitored. At no time was she told this would be deleted from her credit report. She was told by Mr. [redacted] this would show as paid in full.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

03/20/15 wasn't the first phone call made to [redacted]. That was the last call. My first call was on 03/06/2015. I called concerned since I wasn't aware I owed the original creditor. I had sent them a check a week after the procedure. I at that time wanted it removed. I had already called the original creditor and they told me I could pay them the amount less the collection fee and they would take care of it on their end. On 03/06/15 I called US West Collections to let them know that, at that time I was told that sometimes the original creditor won't tell US West Collections to remove the item. I was told that the best route was to pay directly with US West Collections to get the matter resolved. So two weeks later when I made the payment I said to [redacted] and told him I just wanted to get it resolved and taken off my report, he gave me a snobby remark "Mrs. [redacted] you're the one calling me". I left a voicemail on 04/17/2015 saying that it hadn't been removed. No one called me back ever. I don't think I'm asking for much here considering everything. I was never rude or snobby towards anyone, I just wanted the issue removed as soon as possible. Look how quickly I turned around to pay it. I really wouldn't of issued this complaint if I hadn't asked for it to be removed in return for paying what was showing as owed. I was never told that a removal couldn't be done.

To Whom It May Concern:The date of last service was 3-2014. Our client sent her more than one bill before they turned her over to collections We sent her a notice on or around 1-6-2015 and on 2-24-.2015. She contacted us on March 10, 2015 and still did not pay until March 20, 2015. My suggestion is to pay when you get billed and if you move put in a change of address with the post office and if you still don't get your notices complain to the Revdex.com about the U.S. Post Office. We never agreed to delete this from her credit. We did nothing wrong.

Review: In January of 2014 I was moving from Florida to Colorado. Upon finding a place to live and applying for an apartment, my credit report came back with a delinquency. The apartment complex stated that if I did not provide proof that the collection account was closed, than they would be rejecting my application. Consequently, I began looking into the issue. After receiving my credit report, I then saw that I did have a collection on my account from a previous apartment complex that I was entirely unaware of until being notified by the new complex in Colorado. The collection company that was listed was US Collections West Inc. Once finding this out, my family and I got into contact with the collection company. After lots of leg work, we finally got into contact with someone that was willing and able to help us. His name was [redacted], a senior recovery specialist. He told us that if we paid our $323.92 account balance, they would remove the delinquency off my credit report. Therefore, we paid the entire amount in one payment. The below e-mail that I copied was the lost form of communication between [redacted] and my family after paying. We were assured not only was our account balance satisfied, but that it would also not appear as negative on my credit reports. This is not the case as I have followed up with the 3 credit reporting agencies and I have confirmed that this is still showing as unpaid. For example, on my [redacted] report, it says "Status: Collection account $316 past due as of August 2014. This account is scheduled to continue on record until July 2019. This is in direct contradiction to what the company said to us in a formalized letter with their company letterhead. SEE BELOW:

Our first contact with [redacted] and his mother [redacted] was on 11/14/2013 when she and [redacted] called our office. [redacted] gave us verbal permission to speak with his mom in regards to this account. At this point in time they were trying to make the case that [redacted] had signed a roommate release form and should not be on the account. They were going to contact [redacted]'s roommate) about the roommate release form. [redacted] never produced the roommate release form and on 1/13/2014 we received a call from our client ([redacted]) that both [redacted] and his mother have been repeatedly calling them about the account. Our client would simply refer them back to US Collections West Inc. Later in the day on 1/13/2014 our General manager [redacted] received a voice mail from [redacted]. This message was forwarded to me ([redacted]) on 1/13/2014 as about 4:30pm. I made a call to [redacted] and left a voice mail. She returned the call at about 5:30pm. [redacted] wanted to know if they could obtain a single party release for [redacted] if they paid half of the balance due. On 1/14/2014 I contact our client ([redacted]) and they refused to give a single party release to Mr. [redacted]. I then contacted [redacted] at about 9:55am and informed her that our client refused to do a single party release. I told her that we could do a credit card payment for the balance due of $323.92 to clear the account today, but that [redacted] and [redacted] still had an outstanding account with [redacted] for a security deposit for $500 they took out which still has a balance due. [redacted] did not seem concerned about this at all. A zero balance letter was sent to [redacted] on 1/15/2014 and we did not hear back from him until 8/11/2014. [redacted] requested another zero balance letter be sent to him at: [redacted]., Tampa, FL 33635. That letter was sent on 8/12/2014 and returned to us on 8/27/2014 as a bad address. We did not hear back from [redacted] again until 11/19/2014 when he filed this complaint. Since it appears that I did not make it completely clear that there were two accounts, one with "[redacted]" and with "[redacted]" (for a security deposit at [redacted]) we are going to close the second account as settled in full to amend the error we made with this account and report it to the credit bureaus as such. In the complaint [redacted] says that we promised to remove this from his credit report. It is company policy that we never use the term "remove" in regards to an individual's credit report. We can only update the status of their account as ({paid in full" or ({settled in full". [redacted] also claims that his credit report still shows his account as unpaid. Again, [redacted] and [redacted] had two accounts, one with "[redacted]" and "[redacted]". The credit bureaus will still be reporting the [redacted] account as in collections as it has never been paid and again we are going to close that account as settled in full.Sincerely,[redacted]- Sr. Recovery Specialist US Collections West Inc.

Review: [redacted] at US collections West has used aggressive collections tactics that were very unethical. Over a phone call he repeatedly remarked, loaded statement "I would hate to have you pay for legal representation." He also added that it would be less expensive if I just payed the debt rather than hiring an attorney. There is no doubt that [redacted] is indirectly threatening to sue me if I do not pay immediately this is a violation of the [redacted]. His unethical collection tactics have caused me much psychological distress. I have no reason to believe that I owe this debt, upon my request of a detailed payment history for the full extent of the rental contract(with [redacted] ) [redacted] conveyed to me that he did not have to disclose that information to me. He also had incorrect information stating that I payed rent in 3 month increments, rather than each month. His lack of sufficient proof of the debt and incorrect knowledge of my original rental agreement only augments my believe that this is an accounting error by the now shut down company [redacted] returned my security deposit in FULL at the end of my rental term upon inspection of my apartment. If I owed any debt to [redacted] they would have NOT refunded me my full security deposit. I have documentation showing that the FULL deposits was RETURNED to me. [redacted] also stated that I was charged cleaning fees, yet my security deposit was returned to me in full upon the INSPECTION of my apartment. I contacted my roommates that were also on this rental contract to ask if they were charged the alleged cleaning fees or if they received their full security deposit and they both received their FULL security deposit and confirmed that they were NEVER charged cleaning fees. This information only leads me to believe that [redacted] misrepresented this account as a debt when if fact there was absolutely no money owed. The proof of debt provided by US Collections West is very questionable, and have no supporting documents.

Also US Collections West has hired a second collection company to collect the SAME debt so now on my credit report it shows 2 different collection accounts that add up to over $7000 but there is only one alleged debt that was originally around $3000.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that US Collections West seize there aggressive collections tactics and relieve the alleged debt off my credit.

Response:

This is our formal response to the consumer [redacted] complaint.

At no point of our conversation did I ever state that U.S. Collections West, Inc. was going to sue him. I did state that we could settle his file for $1700.00 which could be considerable more if he decided not to pay the settlement. I did mention to the consumer a few times that it was our companies position to proceed to the fullest extent of the law allowable as collection activities would continue in reference to his debt. We do not have a complete list of all of his payments. We were only provided what he owes. As for his other roommates we do not have that private information from our client. We did turn this account to another agency in California to proceed with collection procedures.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I believe that US Collections West is attempting to evade persecution for their unlawful collection tactics by turning this alleged debt over to [redacted]. These aggressive tactics should not be overlooked, they are unlawful and unethical. US collections west did not comply [redacted] by repeatedly alluded that I would be sued if I did not pay the alleged debt and confirming that statement by telling me that it would be cheaper for me to pay the debt than hire legal council. I would like US collections West to relieve this debt completely off my credit report. This would entail they relieve the now transferred debt to [redacted]. I would also like to add that US collections West was not even supplied with a payment history from the original account to confirm the debt, as stated by alfred [redacted] is his response. If the company does not have a definitive payment history how can US Collections West authenticate this alleged debt.

Regards,

I have had the unpleasurable experience of dealing with this company. I received a call one day in June 2013 regarding a debt I owed to a previous apartment complex. The woman who called me was quick to tell me I owed $1300 and that I needed to pay that day. She also told me that if I didn't pay that day, she was going to sue me for the amount due. She also told me she would report it to my credit report if I didn't pay. She insisted I get a loan and ask family members for the money before end of the day! I asked for proof of the debt and she was quick to argue with me. I had told her I needed proof and she told me I knew of the charges and I needed to pay. After arguing with her, she told me she was going to sue me and hung up the phone! What kind of business does this? I know the collections laws as I have family working the collection business. After consulting with legal advice, the woman should never threatened me with a lawsuit without intending to do so. I will be taking this agency to court for violating collection laws that protect me. Also, the collection told me they received the debt on May 27, 2013 when we did not even move out/end of lease until May 31, 2013. How can a debt be sent to collections if we still live in the complex?! I would love to resolve this matter and come to a settlement with the collection agency but they are very rude and offensive to deal with.

I have been dealing with this company for the last 8 weeks concerning a garnishment that I received no notice of getting. Regardless I talked to them to have the amount reduced from 25% to 15% and was told I needed to pay 1810.00 in order to do so, which I did that same day. It has been 8 weeks and my remaining balance is less than $200 and the percentage is still at a 25% and everytime I call for answers I get forwarded to voicemail. The last time I talked to [redacted] he said that he couldnt find my file and put me on hold for 5 minutes and then ended up having to call me back. Ive asked for answers and continue to get the run around. At this point it looks as if I will have to deal with an overpayment which I feel could have been avoided if they had been more professional or honest. Ive been told that ive been rude and irresponsible because of a past mistake in which I am now paying for which I totally agree and understand if I would have been able to afford it in the past I wouldnt have this issue but dont feel its necessary to be picked on or called names just because I owe someone money. I paid what I owe now I just dont feel I should continue to be punished or treated badly because paperowrk was not filed or dealt with according to our converaation.

Review: THE ACCT REP USED SCARE TACTICS, THREATS AND INTIMIDATION TO COLLECT ON THE DEBT AND REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBLE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS TO RESOLVED DEBT.

I downloaded my credit report on December 4, 2012 and notice a collections on my file submitted by your agency on October 1, 2013. This debt was due to my having to vacant [redacted], September 2012 due to involuntary employment termination (laid off). I have never received any correspondence from your agency; but I contacted your agency on December 5, 2014 to make payment arrangement. I directed to Mrs. [redacted] (###-###-####) as that she was my account manager. She asked me for the payment in full. l expressed my inability to pay the full amount of $4,532.00 as listed on my credit report in one lump sum. However, I was eager to make payment arrangements. She advised me to take out a loan. I advised Mrs. [redacted] that I had been refused loans so that was not an option. She continued to voice to me that I had superb credit and it was best I paid this debt in full. I asked she ask for a settlement amount from [redacted] for half the debit. I requested to make a payment on December 19 and a final payment on January 2, 2014. I received a call from Mrs. [redacted] on December 10, 2014 with a settlement proposal of $3432.00; but I would have to pay it in full immediately. Again, I expressed my inability to pay in full and asked for payment arrangements. She refused and threaten to have my wages garnished. I explained to her that her threats and intimidation tactics were not needed and an unethical practice. I reminded her that I had been the one to contact their agency. She ended the conversation abruptly.Desired Settlement: THE ABILITY TO PAY THE AGREED UPON SETTLEMENT AMOUNT SUBMITTED BY SUPERSTITUTION APARTMENT ($3,432) IN SIX BIWEEKLY INSTALLMENT PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $286.00 UNTIL THE DEBT IS PAID IN FULL. THIS WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS TO RESOLVE.

Review: U.S.C.W. don't want to remove or close my account from a false collection file. I ready give to them all paper work from the original creditor where is a clear order to them remove and release me from all money owed. because apartment complex (original creditor) they always help me to clear this matter because they never send me to collection. so we solve at the time with good standing. the problem with U.S.C.W now is they want I pay almost $2800.00 I never owe. U.S.C.W don't accept any other explanation THAN THE MONEY, NO MATTER IF THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR RELEASE ME FROM THIS.

NOW THEY HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO FIGHT BUT AFTER I SEND PROOFS OF RELEASE OF MONEY AND OTHERS PAPERS HE SEND ME A LETTER DECIDING DONT CONTINUE WITH THE CASE AND RETURN THE CASE TO U.S.C.W. NOW I AM IN THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN.

SO PLEASE HELP ME TO PUT THIS BUSSINES IN HIS PLACE. MAY BE I SOUND MAD BUT I HAVE OVER A YEAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND ONLY IS LAYING AND LAYING AND I AM TIRED.

PLEASEDesired Settlement: ONLY I WANT THEY REMOVE THIS COLLECTION ACCOUNT FROM MY CREDIT REPORT. I SHOULD ASK FOR ALL MY TIME AND GAS I SPEND SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. BUT NO PROBLEM JUST REMOVE IT AND SEND ME A LETTER WITH PROOF OF I AM CLEAN FROM THEM. THANKS

I have not received any kind of mailing documentation or e-mail or phone message from caller US Collections Mr. [redacted] this morning when my girl pick up the phone... and he LIED by stating left several messages with me when indeed checking my phone calling my phone carrier who informed me this is the FIRST this number appear on your phone records.
I would like to place compliant to Revdex.com on the unprofessional tactics from this organization there is a professional approach, not unprofessional and I do not know WHY contact any friends of mines before making any kind of communication with me...Professional start off wrong vibes.

Review: I was placed in collections with this company because I was physically unable to make a payment to my previous landlord. I was never evicted. I lived in an unsafe apartment and I needed a safer place to move the by out was $500. Of that $500 I initially paid $200. After those payments directly to the apartment I was unable to handle any of my personal affairs from June 2010- September 2011. In 2012 I began to attempt to resolve this matter with a male collector. I set up payment arrangements, and paid. This company produced no record of my payment when asked about this account by the credit bureru. After the initial payment I began to receive constant harassing and inappropriate calls from the same collector. Since 2012 I have been unable to speak with anyone else to resolve this matter. And the only person they forward me to sends me to voicemail and never returns my calls. I believe this is intentional to ruin my credit.Desired Settlement: Adjust this account to the correct amount. Reverse any interest because of your interference in receiving payment to settle this debt.

Contact me so I can pay this debt.

Response:

One payment was made on 10-23-12 for $52.00. Then she stopped paying. We called her over 10 times with no luck getting her to make another payment.

Please provide copies or proof of the other payments so we can research them. In the mean time you may contact me to make arrangements to repay your debt.

Sincerely yours,

Review: This company harrashed me when I tried to settle a debt the rep called me names and refused the settlement dealDesired Settlement: I want them to take my third that I would owe and settle the debt and remove it from my credit

I have had a debt with an apartment complex for some time now. I understand that this is my responsibility, but for me to endure such demeaning and very unprofessionalism from a company is just down right rude and unexceptable. At first, Ms. [redacted] had told me that she couldn't take payment over the phone with a debit card, she had advised me she could do an e-check or I could mail a check, but for no less than $100. I told her I would have to call back when I have that much to give. I then called again to see if I could make the payment and she refused to take any sort of payment from me, that I now needed to make payment in the full amount. I am willing to make payments to reduce and eventually eliminate this debt, but they are very uncooperative and not willing to work with me. The woman asked personal questions that I feel I do not need to answer, but I did just to show or prove to her that I am trying to reduce this debt. She proceeded to tell me that my mom should pay the debt in full because they are not excepting any payments from me. She told me that it wasn't her problem, which I fully understand, and that she will not work with me on taking any sort of payments. She told me of several places hiring, which I have applied to before this date, and very rudely told me that I need to be more responsible. Well the first step is at least trying to pay the debt off in payments if that is all I can do at this moment. I have never had any problems with making payments to any company and never encountered anyone refusing to acknowledge the simple fact of someone trying to make things better for themselves. The people in that office need to be trained on better customer service, or better yet fired so people could have a job that would appreciate the work that they are doing.

I personally work in collections, so I understand how frustrating some days can be. I have had NOTHING but horrible experiences with this company. my balance was under $2000. They refused to set up $75 payments when it first went in to collections. My rep was [redacted], MULTIPLE times she forgot to make me aware of the [redacted]. I was unable to work with anyone else. I let my account go unpaid for a good year because of this. Terrible customer service and very unprofessional reps! When I asked to speak with management I was treated like a CRIMINAL! (For an APARTMENT debt) [redacted] is an very rude person, the type of person that seems just unhappy with LIFE, period. The kind of person that finds satisfation with making the process of collectiong these debts even harder. A manager is supposed to RESOLVE the issues that a regular collector is not able to NOT CREATE NEW ONES!!! US COLLECTIONS West will remain a small comany with no growth if they go on with these practices. I requested to speak with the owner on multiple occasions, I was never able too! NO BUSINESS SHOULD EVER TURN TO THEM TO COLLECT ON THEIR ACCOUNTS.!!PICK SOMEONE ELSE!!! This company made me appreciate my job so much more!!!

I can't believe how unprofessional this collection agency is?! I'm surprised they haven't been sued. Someone needs to do something how are you supposed to pay off a debt? You have Monna telling you to pay it off with your income tax return? If I had a return I would of sent a check not call this horrible agency that has no class. Omg I really can't believe this. I will be recording the next conversations.

I have been dealing with David P[redacted] since February and recently with Brian C[redacted]. I am appalled with the customer service I received. David constantly gave me a threatening reminder that I would be legally pursued even after I was calling to make my payment. I brought up previous reminder about my disabled daughter in response to his threats and criminal treatment and he was so rude…I told him there are laws protecting the disabled and he said he had no idea there were laws, and sarcastically added that he would make sure he would "research" such a thing. Also, he contacted my family and my job and didn't stop at just contact. He harassed them and left messages where he implored the message get passed to me with his threats of "trust me you don't want your daughter not calling me back, we will sue her so you advise her to call me." Mind you there were no attempts to contact me AND he had my direct office number. He never called me there FIRST. If you think the manager can be a mediator between their offensive employees and disgruntled customers, you are wrong. His manager Brian accused me of being "sketchy" because I can only make my payment at the end of the month. He made me feel like a criminal and less than human because I can't make bigger payments than $100 on a less than $1200.00 balance. He said he doesn't care for my personal life and that he prefers; key word here because he prefers that than take my small payments. Reason, "We will get our money guaranteed and faster than dealing with you!” He told me that if it was his job to care about people than he wouldn't get HIS money. When I brought up that I made a BIG payment of $800 in February he said that's nothing he has seen checks coming in for 50K so that figure doesn't impress him. My fury with this is that THAT was not my point. His ignorance and false entitlement to verbally attack people prevented him from grasping that. My point was that I am serious about paying off that debt or I wouldn’t have dropped that amount on a then balance of about $2,400. On 11/3 I went to pay the remaining balance with money I borrowed from my mother all so that I would stop the harassment and humiliation from David P[redacted] and Brian C[redacted]. I had spoken with David in the month of September about a pay and erase letter at HIS suggestion. He knew I am in the process of cleaning my credit and was seeking a promissory letter that would delete the derogatory off my credit upon the completion of my loan. He first accused me of having had offered that option before and I declined and I said you must have me confused with another customer. To which he fought me on and then said “oh, anyways” after I argued with him that why would I do that if it is I the interested one to have this taken care of. This part of the story with the “pay and erase” letter will resurface in my complaint later. Anyhow, when I arrived at the location there was another customer there receiving a receipt. She turned around and asked why her receipt had a completely different client and apartment complex. Her payment was posted on the wrong account. The receptionist that handled it had red hair, black lipstick, bloodshot eyes, older in age and just simply rude. She rolled her eyes at me and exasperated after she was done handling the customer before me and 2 phone calls. She asked me, “Yes, what do you need?” No greeting. Then there was a younger woman, possibly Hispanic, between 280-350 pounds. She slammed the window on me without knowing if I had been helped or not for she had not been formerly there. Brian was not present after I had requested I don’t handle my business with David P[redacted] due to the unpleasant experiences and he told me he would wait for my arrival between 3-4 pm. I got there at 3:38 and he was nowhere in sight. Instead David assisted me and was sure to leave me once again, with an unpleasant experience. Now, I mentioned here about the “pay and erase” letter he told me I would be able to get without drafting a legal one myself. Well, when I brought it up before handing over the last of my payment, he smirked and looked at the woman with the bloodshot eyes and didn’t address me to my face, instead he told her “I never brought up no letter.” It’s called a promissory note, that’s all you will get from us. So I said NO and I reiterated our previous conversation and he looked at me and repeated the same thing, he tapped the table with one finger and said that’s ALL you will get here, trust me your money is much safer here. I could go on and on but to end my ordeal, I never refused accountability. David and especially Brian C[redacted], made sure to let me know that they don’t care about anyone’s story because people there are just an account number. Brian repeated that his job is to get his money with any means possible, of course that is their "reason" always....for a collector they will say the public is wrong when no, collections are alive BECAUSE of the different instances we face in life and the conscious consumer attempting to rectify what those instances left behind. For the sake of the dim-witted employees at US COLLECTIONS WEST, this effect is also known as making their payments. I was treated like a criminal every time I called. I felt like a felon on the run with just how many times David called my friend s and family AND threatened to continue calling my manager even after I told him he was not to be contacted for this matter. David was in direct violation of The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. No need to treat people like dogs. I am reaching out to the businesses that use them for collecting for them to switch companies.
