U.SGas and Electric is sending their salespeople (i.escammers) around door to door telling residents in my area that they are "Compliance Officers" with Delmarva Power (our local utility company) This is a complete and total lie USG&E is absolutely not affiliated with Delmarva Power The salesperson then insisted that I go get him my most recent bill so that he could evaluate "compliance" He couldn't explain exactly what compliance he was going to evaluate from my bill, at which point, I told him I wasn't going to show him my bill and I closed my front door
I actually had been interested in buying my energy from a provider other than Delmarva Power, but I will not support that uses outright lies to try and sell its product Steer clear of these shysters
A utility sales representative from US Gas & Electric came to my door asking to see my gas and electric billsHe said that next month (beginning of winter) my rates would go up if I continue to use National Grid and National Fuel as my utility suppliersHe said National Fuel and Grid buys their product from his company (US G & E)So he could guarantee that my rates would remain the sameHe said that other people in my area have already renewed their contract with his companyI signed up because I was new to the area and heard that utilities usually cost more in the NorthHe seemed legitimateHe allowed me to take pictures of his badge and soliciting permit (see attached images)I've been using US G & E as my utility supplier for months nowMy rates have stayed the same according to their "rates"My electric and gas rates have DOUBLED from when I used National Grid and Fuel as my suppliersThe scam is that US G & E promises your rates to stay the same for two years, but these rates are much higher than other suppliersDo not switch! There's a $termination fee too
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When I switched from PECO Gas to USG&E in 2014, I was told they ALWAYS charged to Ccf lower than PECO, but that was far from the truth! I recently reviewed my account and realized that they charged me over $more than I would have been charged by PECO in the past two and half yearsAnd each year the increase doubled over the prior year I complained to USG&E and they sent a check for $- REALLY, WHERE'S THE REST OF MY $500!

I had a saleperson from USG&E show up at my door. He was VERY insistent that I show him my electric bill. He claimed he wasn't trying to sell me anything, even though his ID badge said "salesperson" and his permit was for "peddling and soliciting". Every time I told him that I didn't want to give personal information to a stranger, he insisted that there would be no harm in it. He even had a copy of his own electric bill, claiming that if it was safe for him to show me his, that I should show him mine. It was very unsettling how he wouldn't take no for an answer, and I can only assume he would have tried to switch my electric provider to USG&E if I had actually let him see my bill. I filed a police report about this incident in case it was a scam.
