Dear Mr. [redacted],
The agreement was signed January 27th. 2015 and the agreement was plainly changed from a 60 month to a 36 month agreement. This making it very apparent to me that you were in agreement of the 36 months that was expected.
We will transfer the service to the new owner of the house...

with no penalty to you. I will also settle for 1/2 of the balance of the agreement which will be approximately $600.00. This is based on us getting our equipment back.
We discount systems based on making a profit when people honor their agreements.
The only thing I have to go on is the agreement, I stand behind my sales rep. as we have worked together for many years and I do not believe he would lie in order to make a sale.
We have done nothing wrong here and this should not even show up as a legitimate complaint.[redacted]

The matter in question does not pertain to the length of the contract.  The matter is that [redacted] explained to me that if I sold my home the contract would be over.  He stated that the reason Mid America Security can do that is because Mid America Security expects to get the business of the new owner and since they are confident in their products and service they would also hope to get my business at my new location.  I explained to [redacted] several times that I would not purchase a system if I would was to be bound to a contract after the home was sold because I couldn't be sure where I would live after selling my home.  He acknowledged this and assured me that I would not have to continue the contract after sale of my home.  
Mid America Security cannot tell someone that their contract is over when they sell their home and then when the home sells change their stance.  I couldn't be more disappointed in a company from the way I am being treated and the audacity Mid America Security is showing in their attempted trickery in this matter.  Mid America Security can't say one thing to get a potential customer to purchase their services and then do another.  I can not emphatically enough state that I would not have ever purchased a security system if I was bound to a contract when my house sold.  I knew I was going to sell my house and [redacted] was made aware of it as well on at least three occasions.  More than that, he acknowledged it and assured me that the contract would end as soon as my home was sold.
Mid America Security must terminate my contract the day my house is sold as was the agreement that was made by [redacted].
