USA Air Care Reviews (2)

USA Air Care cleaned our chimney and in doing so left a oily soot covering every thing in the semi finished basement. they refuse correct the problem. We purchased a [redacted] for a USA Air Care chimney cleaning. On 8/16/13 they did arrive and clean the chimney, however they left everything in our semi finished basement covered in an oily black soot. After doing a little research it seems the technician used the wrong style vacuum to capture the soot. We believe he used a standard 5 gallon shop vac and not an actual chimney vacuum which would have a [redacted] filter. Had they used the correct equipment we would not have this problem. We have two small children in the house who have since the "cleaning" had black snot in their noses. In trying to get someone from USA Air Care to respond to our compliant we have received no follow thru. Appointments have been made from them to have someone come out and survey the damage but still no one has been here. On the phone they have not been at all helpful only giving us excuses that the one the phone is not authorized to do anything. At this point we are looking for a full refund and for a professional cleaning company such as [redacted] to come and clean this mess up.Desired SettlementI would like a full refund of $245 and to have the cost of a professional cleaning covered by USA Air Care. Business Response We have reached out to the customer but unable to communicate because the customer was yelling and swearing on the phone all the time. Due to our staff having family issues we have not been able to go inspect the basement. We are closed until September 3rd and we return on the 4th and we will reach out to the customer and send our field technician to inspect the basement first not just assume that it is dirty because the customer says so. We are professionals and we have used the [redacted] filtered vacuum to clean the Chimney. It is very offensive to our company from a customer to use another companys name like [redacted] to clean the mess. Our Policy on Customer issues is to do a full inspection of concerns and then we take it from there.Thank YouFinal Consumer Response At this point, we have had to put our basement back together. In fact, we have been re-painting the entire common area floor, so that we can actually walk around in our basement (and access our laundry area)... So, I'm not sure that there is now very much for you to see... Considering our complaint, I find the delayed response and ignored calls very unprofessional. Any reputable company that provides services such as yours should have an on-call or emergency technician on at all times. Over the past few weeks, my husband and I have done the best that we can to try to clean up the mess ourselves. However, we have had to buy cleaning supplies, paint supplies, and we have had to spend hours upon hours scrubbing walls, furniture items, and tools (we haven't even touched the area rugs or the two separate rooms off of the common space)... In order to properly take care of the finely spread soot, we will have to (at some point) steam clean the rugs and furniture (again, an expense that we shouldn't have had to take on).If you would like to come and take a look at our basement, we can try to make that happen this week. Both my husband and I should be home on Tuesday and Thursday evening. We just want this made right.Final Business Response We have emailed the customer and received an email back. Will go at customers house for an inspection this Thursday.Thank You

Bait and switch tactics. I purchased 2 [redacted] @$50 supposedly 87% off. when they came to my house they said they could't do anything unless pd $7952 [redacted] were purchased for me as a gift. the amount paid was $49 each totaling $98 paid. I made an appointment months in advance and took off 2 hours of work to be there for the workers. They came to my house and told me that I must pay $795 then and there or they could do nothing for me. I am a young female. The two men one of whom did not speak english tried intimidating me into paying him then and there. He told me my vouchers were good for nothing other than a discount ( the groupon clearly said good for one whole system air duct cleaning) they then proceeded to argue with me that this is the way they did business. I have all documentation and even voice recorded our conversation. The company now does not return my calls. This all transpired on 9.20.13. I am disgusted that I let these people walk all through my home. Desired SettlementI want them to pay for the service to be provided through a different company. Business Response These Are subcontracted jobs and [redacted] says an air duct cleaning costs 400-1000 per system. No way to do the whole house with the coupons. Ask Indoor air of America for a refund and stop being disgusted by our staff because they came down to do a cleaning not to make you feel that way and stop being racist also. Thank youFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I am appalled that I have been called racist. If anyone was being discriminated against it was ME. I am a female living alone in a big home and your company felt that they could take advantage of that. The manner in which you conduct business is horrific. I purchased a [redacted] for value and your "subcontractors" said it had no value. Your practices are illegal and predatory. Your response to my complaint is discourteous and offensive. I have asked that YOU, the company that I purchased the [redacted] from repay the money to me. You are not allowed to pass the buck on your "subcontractors" ultimately they would seek indemnification from you. This is crazy and your company is horrible.Below is your advertisement:"The Deal$49 for a whole-house air duct and dryer vent cleaning (a $279 value) Powerful vacuums suck dust and debris from all ducts in a single HVAC system, clearing away contaminants such as dust and pollen."I called [redacted] and they said that the add is what it says on its face. Never was it 10-20% off anything, which is what your company said it was when they came to my home and tried forcing me to pay $800 for the service. I am not the only person you have had this issue with clearly. I suggest you focus more on your customer service before playing the racist card.-DisgustedFinal Business Response You did not get the coupon through us. We are the subcontractors. Please call the company where you bought this voucher from. You did not buy your vouchers from USA AIR CARE.Thanks and please stop replying.
