Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint Company's explanation was blatantly incorrect in a number of ways Primarily, with the car dying on me, and not being auto tech savvy, my initial assumption was a dead battery It was the initial clerk I encountered that suggested the issue could be the battery OR alternator And yes, I agreed to have those checkedAgain, this is s service offered FREE at most auto part atoresAnd though I didn't have the luxury of being able to make it to a parts store, I don't anticipate this service costing $per hourIn the case of my gas being out, it wasn't until I got the FIRST call from USA Collision some hours after I dropped the car off that they informed me that I was out of gasIt was also then that they told me that they sent someone to get $worth of gas for the vehicle I didn't make a request for them to get gas, because I didn't have an opportunity to It had already been purchased before I'd been contacted(Mind you, when my totals were given to me, there was also a "labor charge" explained for going to get gas, all of a half mile down the road, bringing said gas back, AND fueling the vehicle - with $worth of gas.) At no point was I informed of a "need" for a 3rd diagnostic due to the car "running rough" after being refusedThese things were never discussed, explained, or agreed uponFor all anyone at USA Collision could have known, the vehicle could have had "run rough" for quite some time The only thing that was told to me over the phone was that "additional diagnostics were run to see if anything else was wrong while the battery was slow charging." Again, a seemingly clear attempt to run the price up on a customer whose hands are tied because they aren't present, and can't get their car back without paying for services, regardless how erroneous they may seem At no point did I display embarrassment about the car being out of gasI was more so SHOCKED because the gas light had just come on during the final ride before it died, and that light still indicates at least 1/of a tankI'm not sure if the car had to be run some to check the charging system, but it definitely shouldn't have accumulated any "debris" from simply being run while in a garage If any of these creative, yet somewhat logical issues had been explained to me, I would have had the opportunity to decide if I wanted additional diagnostics, and would have partially based my decision on priceAt their labor rates, I would have gladly taken my "rough running" car, and paid for the check to the charging system, and recharging my battery After reading their rebuttal, I feel more gouged now than I did when I was at their establishment, because now they're attempting to justify the exorbitant charges AFTER THE FACT Explanations that's were never given to me over the phone, nor were they explained in any sort of detail on my bill Regards,

T.Jis wonderful to work with He was very professional, polite, reasonable and quick to respond to my phone calls and questions His crew was also professional, polite and hard workers You can tell that T.Jand his crew take pride in the quality of their work I will recommend them and would rehire them for any fencing needs GREAT JOB

This customer came into our facility requesting we have his alternator checkedHe mentioned to our service technician that he has knowledge of vehicle repair and that we start thereWe proceeded with his request to check the alternatorUnfortunately, we were not able to check the alternator since
the battery was drained by the customer after several attempts to start the vehicleThe battery needed to be charged in order to go any further, so we had to give it a full chargeOnce the battery was charged, we were then able to diagnose the alternator, per the request of the customerAfter the diagnostics were performed on the alternator, we were then able to determine that it was functioning properlyTo determine the true cause of the problem, a second diagnostic had to be performedIt was then discovered that one of the problems with the vehicle was that it had been driven on an empty gas tank until it gave out. We then called the customer to explain the situation, (which he seemed very embarrassed about) and he approved for us to put gas into his vehicleAlthough this service is not usually offered to our customers since it is a hazard to carry so much gas in a vehicle, we did it for him at his requestThe vehicle still drove rough even after putting gas, so we performed a third diagnosticsResults were that due to the fact that the vehicle was driven on an empty gas tank, it accumulated air and debris into the fuel linesAnytime a vehicle is driven empty like this, it reacts like a vacuum and ingests all the debris from the bottom of the fuel tank, causing this blockageWe then had to bleed the system and clear the lines to remove the air and debrisOnce this was done, the problem was solved and the vehicle ran smoothlyHad the customer told us that he drove the vehicle on an empty tank from the beginning or if he would have allowed us to perform our own diagnostics, instead of telling us what he wanted to be done, we could have saved a great deal of time and servicesAs far as his AC not working, when the customer brought this to our attention, we gave the customer the benefit of the doubt, although we knew we did not do any work that would relater to the functioning of the acWe then removed the control panel to see what the problem was and noticed that his connection was unplugged due to previous work done involving the radioThe rates for our services are clearly posted for our customers to view, this customer was aware of our chargesBeing that he is a former salesman for an auto service provider, he knows what is required, what questions to ask and what should be performedIt is true that some auto parts stores do minor diagnostics for free in order to sell you the part, but we are NOT a retail parts store and we are not trying to sell any partsWe are a full service center and charge for our services that are rendered

T.J. is wonderful to work with. He was very professional, polite, reasonable and quick to respond to my phone calls and questions. His crew was also professional, polite and hard workers. Company's explanation was blatantly incorrect in a number of ways.  Primarily, with the car dying on me, and not being auto tech savvy, my initial assumption was a dead battery.  It was the initial clerk I encountered that suggested the issue could be the battery OR alternator.  And yes, I agreed to have those checked. Again, this is s service offered FREE at most auto part atores. And though I didn't have the luxury of being able to make it to a parts store, I don't anticipate this service costing $97.50 per hour. In the case of my gas being out, it wasn't until I got the FIRST call from USA Collision some 4 hours after I dropped the car off that they informed me that I was out of gas. It was also then that they told me that they sent someone to get $10 worth of gas for the vehicle.  I didn't make a request for them to get gas, because I didn't have an opportunity to.  It had already been purchased before I'd been contacted. (Mind you, when my totals were given to me, there was also a "labor charge" explained for going to get gas, all of a half mile down the road, bringing said gas back, AND fueling the vehicle - with $10 worth of gas.) At no point was I informed of a "need" for a 3rd diagnostic due to the car "running rough" after being refused. These things were never discussed, explained, or agreed upon. For all anyone at USA Collision could have known, the vehicle could have had "run rough" for quite some time.  The only thing that was told to me over the phone was that "additional diagnostics were run to see if anything else was wrong while the battery was slow charging."  Again, a seemingly clear attempt to run the price up on a customer whose hands are tied because they aren't present, and can't get their car back without paying for services, regardless how erroneous they may seem.  At no point did I display embarrassment about the car being out of gas. I was more so SHOCKED because the gas light had just come on during the final ride before it died, and that light still indicates at least 1/8 of a tank. I'm not sure if the car had to be run some to check the charging system, but it definitely shouldn't have accumulated any "debris" from simply being run while in a garage.  If any of these creative, yet somewhat logical issues had been explained to me, I would have had the opportunity to decide if I wanted additional diagnostics, and would have partially based my decision on price. At their labor rates, I would have gladly taken my "rough running" car, and paid for the check to the charging system, and recharging my battery.  After reading their rebuttal, I feel more gouged now than I did when I was at their establishment, because now they're attempting to justify the exorbitant charges AFTER THE FACT.  Explanations that's were never given to me over the phone, nor were they explained in any sort of detail on my bill.
