shower installed 3/27/15 and shower door placed 4/7/15. called office to say that handle installed backwards, i.e. turn to right for hot and to the left for cold. appt made to come out to fix. prior to appt, installed called to say that it is the bottom of the handle that should be on the left, even if it turns to the right. He did not come out. Called 4/17 office to request call from manager-told he would call 4/20. I called again 4/21 and left another message. 4/24 called office again. Was told he was out of state till end of next wk. 5/1 called again and was told message would be emailed to [redacted] in Sacramento. The specification for the valve can be found at the link above. There are many different kinds of temperature control valves for baths and showers. We use this valve from [redacted] because of its quality and performance characteristics. We have installed, actually, thousands of these valves during the last 8 years in Reno and in other markets where we have completed bath and shower remodels. The operation of the valve has always been the same: Lift the handle and push the lever to the left for hot water or to the right for cold water. In the diagram included in the link above, it is clearly shown that pushing the lever to the left gives hot water. It is important to understand that when the lever moves to the left, the top of the mechanism rotates around a center pin. So, as the lever moves left, the rotation of the top of the mechanism is to the right. The position of the lever is what controls the water temperature, even as the mechanism above the center pin rotates to the right. While I have not visited Ms. [redacted]'s home, my understanding from our installation manager is that the valve is installed and operates correctly.I am happy to visit, or have our Operations Manager visit Ms. [redacted]'s home to verify the correct operation of the valve, if that is requested by Ms. [redacted]. My understanding at this time is that the valve is installed correctly, according to the manufacture's specification. I would ask Ms. [redacted] to set up a home visit with our Operations Manager and a representative from the Revdex.com so that we can verify this installation or make an arrangement to change the installation if we can determine one is required.
