I have reviewed the file of  Ms. [redacted], I have found that client in question was under review by the Internal Revenue Service. Explaining review. The IRS sometimes require additional information before releasing funds to the client. In her case, it was because of the filing of a [redacted]...

which is self employment, and the filing of a niece. In most cases, a review is held when one or more people try and carry the same dependent. Proof of filing the dependent is needed. Ms. [redacted] was sent a letter by the IRS explaining the issue with her tax return and how to resolve it. The IRS will send a partial payment in this case, the amount in which she is entitled to without giving earned income credit, the majority of her return. Ms. [redacted] picked up and signed for her partial payment and was informed of what was going on with her filing. As far as I know, I never heard from the client again. We do offer help to those in review, and give advise to help move things forward when such cases come up. If the response back to the IRS is warranted, the existing funds will be paid to the client directly through the mail and not through us.. I further want to add that the checks are set up and funded through [redacted] Bank, The accounts are set up as a one time bank account in the customers name and closed once the check is printed. The funds are never touched directly by American Tax Service.. The easiest way to resolve this, is for the client to contact the IRS and follow the steps in which they have laid out for her to receive her funds. If a check was issued, it was issued to the clients address listed on the file. The IRS will then track the check and find out what happened to it. The client  also can contact [redacted] Bank to verify there was not another check issued by them in her name.  I am asking that Ms. [redacted] produce supporting documentation for her findings and proof of allegations before she is  actually able to submit a complaint. I can not find any fault by us here at American Tax Service and would continue to help and support Ms. [redacted], as well as any client, that has filed in the past with a IRS review.
The amount in which MS. [redacted] is seeking, [redacted] dollars is the exact amount of earned income credit being reviewed by the IRS.
The only person accountable is herself for not following directions and answering her mail. The tax preparation for this file was for tax year 2011. She didn't not file here in 2012.
