Patient's insurance carrier [redacted] states that their records showed there is another dental insurance policy for patient.  Before they would process the claim they required written response from patient of who the carrier is or written response indicating  that there is no other...

coverage.  We made numerous attempts to reach patient to advise that they need to provide this information.  Patient did not respond so balance was sent to pre collections.  Statements were being sent monthly and a letter was sent 2/20/17 and  3/31/17.  A call was made on 4/11/17 and finally an attorney demand letter was sent on 4/11/17.  No response was received from patient so balance was sent to a collection agency.   As for the comment that the person who takes payments in the office was not in,  we have 13 people who work in our front office and all of us are authorized to take payments and we are open 7 days a week.The patient could try to contact [redacted] and provide the information but being that the treatment was performed in 2016 they may not be willing to reconsider processing the claim.
