It was time for my renewal on my car insurance and I called to renew my insurance. I was told how much my renewal would cost. My debit card was debited for the amount of $163.96 I was told I needed sign the agreement thru my email to accept the contract for my renewal. After getting off the phone I changed my mind because the cost of the policy every month was to high. So I immediately called back to cancel and also sent back a email stating that I would like to cancel. I never signed or sent back a signed contract saying I agreed to the renewal. It took forever to get someone on the phone to make sure it was canceled. And when I finally got on the phone I explained all of this and was told my policy would be canceled and I asked if my money could be returned to my debit card. I was told it could and it would be canceled. After this I waited a day or two and called back to make sure it was canceled I was given the run around constantly sending me back and forth to press the number to speak to someone. I was put on hold over and over again with no answer. When I finally talk to someone they said it was canceled it would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the money back on my card. So I waited and waited weeks with nothing until I got tired again and called back over and over again being told I would get my money back and it was canceled or being transferred to different departments being left on hold. This has been happening since May 4 and I've been waiting for my money all this time. I finally got fed up and went in to the local USAgencies and explained everything. The woman who worked their checked and told me the reason my money was not put back on my card was because it was in the mail. So I left and waited again when the check came in the mail it was only $6.75 I was so angry and upset. I called again and talked to someone he said if I called again it would be taken care of. I am so fed up I have been waiting for my money since May 4th I want my money back!

Desired Outcome

Refund I would just like to receive my $163.96 I paid back!

Thanks for forwarding the above-referenced consumer complaint. USAgencies (which is an insurance agency, and referred to herein as "USAgencies") is proud of its longstanding reputation of providing exceptional service, and remains committed to its growing base of customers.

USAgencies operates solely as an insurance agency, and as such, is not affiliated with any individual insurance company. As an independent insurance agency, USAgencies offers auto insurance from several national and regional insurance companies.

Subsequent to renewing her auto insurance policy, our customer requested that her insurance policy be terminated. A review of our records indicates that her request was transacted as a request to cancel rather that treated as a void from policy inception. We have subsequently requested that her policy be voided from inception and have issued a full refund. As a result, we believe this matter to be fully resolved.

USAgencies operates solely as an insurance agency, and as such, offers auto insurance from several national and regional insurance companies. It is the responsibility of the respective insurance company to afford and maintain auto insurance coverages for its policyholders, and not the insurance agency. We have, however, confirmed with our customer's insurance company that his auto insurance coverages remained active during the Covid-19 emergency period despite his inability to pay premiums when due.

Last year in December I had a wreck and usagency would not pay my claim because my driver's license was suspended their contact said I didn't need lic
It has been a year and they still haven't paid I need them to honor their contact

Desired Outcome

Since the at fault person's insurance company didn't pay I'm looking for Usagency to pay

A review of our records indicates that our customer purchased her auto policy, effective November 29, 2018, with an expiration date of May 29, 2019. The auto insurance policy provided minimum liability auto insurance coverage (15/30/25) and collision and other than collision coverages on her 2018 Nissan Sentra S.

Our records indicate that when our customer completed and signed her application for auto insurance, she indicated on her application that she had a valid driver's license. Our customer's auto insurance policy specifically excludes coverage for collision damages when the loss is caused by any person driving an insured auto without a valid and current driver's license. Our customer subsequently acknowledged that her driver's license was suspended at the time of her accident.

We have concluded from our records that all of the steps we normally take to ensure our customers fully understand policy coverages and exclusions, as well as their responsibilities in maintaining their auto insurance, were, in fact, taken in this case.

USAgencies is an insurance agency and is not an insurance company; as such, it does not make decisions regarding insurance claims matters, nor does it make claim payments. Any questions or concerns regarding claims decisions should be addressed directly with the insurance company.

I cancelled my policy on 11/12 for my car insurance. To which my insurance was over charged for a vehicle that I no longer had in my possession. I was charged a fee higher than I requested and wasn't aware of the charges until I called about the new car I had purchased. I only had the Nissan Sentra in possession for one day and a half. I got the Jeep Renegade on 11/11. I then noticed that my deductible was higher than. I requested. I've been calling Usagencies since 11/12 with no resolution. I cannot keep going without my car insurance because I'm in danger of having it repossessed without insurance. I paid for my insurance through USagencies but they cannot help me at all. I have no money. I received a letter with over a hundred dollars in cancellation fees. They are trying to keep my money. I do not have a quarter to my name. This is wrong business ethics.
Product_Or_Service: 11/04/2019

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment They can either adjust the price that I was charged for the Nissan Sentra deductible of $250. It wasnt changed until 11/11 when I called about my vehicle being changed. Again I did not have the Nissan Sentra for only a day and one half. If they could pay that difference and reinstate my insurance or start a new policy with it. Since I do not want to lose my car.

A review of our records indicates that our customer purchased her auto policy effective November 4, 2019, with an expiration date of May 4, 2020. The total policy premium, including the policy fee, for the 6-month term was $816. The auto insurance policy provided minimum liability auto insurance coverage (25/50/25) and collision and other than collision coverages on her 2016 Nissan Sentra S. At the time the policy was issued, our customer elected to pay a down payment and finance the remaining premium balance.

Our records further indicate that on November 11th, our customer requested that her policy be endorsed to add a vehicle and remove her 2016 Nissan Sentra S., and on the following day, November 12th, she requested that her policy be cancelled effective November 12th. On November 20th, a refund in the amount of $161.24, representing our customer's payments less earned policy premium and fees, was credited directly to our customer's credit card. With the issued refund, we believe this matter to be fully resolved.

I renewed my policy in 06/2018. The rep took my account number and routing number. She messed up the account number by transposing some of the number which made it and invalid back account number. I called once I noticed that the payment that did not come out and was told it was an error the offices fault and if I received the notice from the state to bring it or fax it ever which I did 10 weeks ago I have called numerous times and the management will not call back and neither will the district manager. What more do we need to do to get this cleared up

Desired Outcome

I would like for them to pay this flag as promised and ASAP since it has caused me not to be able to renew my Dl

A review of our records indicates that our customer renewed her auto policy, effective June 15, 2018, with an expiration date of December 15, 2018. The total policy premium, including the policy fee, for the 6-month term was $983. The auto insurance policy provided minimum liability auto insurance coverage (15/30/25) on her 2009 Nissan Maxima. At the time the policy was issued, our customer elected to pay an initial payment and finance the remaining premium balance.

Our records further indicate that our customer's initial payment was returned by her bank, and a notice of cancellation was mailed to her on June 21, 2018, notifying her of the dishonored payment and that she must remit a replacement payment within ten days of the notice. No replacement payment was received.

While we have concluded from our records that all of the steps we normally take to ensure accuracy and that our customers fully understand policy coverage's, exclusions, as well as their responsibilities in maintaining and renewing their auto insurance, were, in fact, taken in this case, in good faith, we have reimbursed our customer for the fees she incurred. LA DOI Complaint - ***
Thank you for forwarding the above-referenced consumer complaint. InsureOne Independent Insurance Agency dba USAgencies (which is an insurance agency, and referred to herein as "USAgencies") is proud of its longstanding reputation of providing exceptional service, and remains committed to its growing base of customers.
Since October 2013, USAgencies operates solely as an insurance agency, and as such, is not affiliated with any individual insurance company. As an independent insurance agency, USAgencies offers auto insurance from several national and regional insurance companies.
A review of our records indicates that our customer, ***, renewed her policy on 2/22/19 and during that visit she states that requested to have her policy renewed with a change of vehicle. The "new" vehicle was NOT added on 2/22/19 per the named insured's request. Her previous vehicle carried along on her renewed policy. On 3/8/19 the customer contacted the agency about her car being incorrect on her policy. She was informed we would resolve the issue with-in 24 to 48 hours with the carrier and contact her back. The "new" vehicle was updated and placed on the policy as of the renewal date. This resolved the customer's issue and due to the carrier willing to back date the vehicle the customer has incurred $0.00 in DMV fines and has in fact been in coverage since the renewal date. The correct vehicle is on the policy and during the correct time frames as requested by the customer.

The customer's request for additional compensation and having employees terminated has been denied as the customer has incurred zero additional costs due to her perceived issue.

A further review of our records indicate that *** did sign all required paperwork on the renewal date attesting to all information including vehicle information as being correct.

Our review did not indicate any error or exception on the part of the agency. Based on our review and previous contact with this customer we believe this matter is closed.

I need a copy of my billing and payment history. I have asked several times for this information due to overpayment of my policy. I received a cancellation notice even though my account was overpaid more than $200.

Desired Outcome

If my policy is cancelled, where is my refund? Why do the rates increase 40% every renewal time when your information is all the same? Why is it impossible to get anyone on the phone who has any idea about insurance? Why can't I get a copy of my payments and policies?

USAgencies Response • Feb 18, 2019

Thanks for forwarding the above-referenced consumer complaint. USAgencies (which is an insurance agency, and referred to herein as "USAgencies") is proud of its longstanding reputation of providing exceptional service, and remains committed to its growing base of customers.

USAgencies operates solely as an insurance agency, and as such, is not affiliated with any individual insurance company. As an independent insurance agency, USAgencies offers auto insurance from several national and regional insurance companies.

A review of our records indicates that our customer renewed his auto policy (Integon Indemnity Corporation - National General policy), effective May 19, 2018, with an expiration date of November 19, 2018. The total policy premium, including the policy fee, for the 6-month term was $537. The auto insurance policy provided minimum liability auto insurance coverage (25/50/25) on our customer's three vehicles. At the time the policy was issued, our customer elected to make a down payment and finance the remaining premium balance of $432.00, which required 5 monthly installments of $89.42, with his initial payment due on June 8, 2018, and the remaining payments due on the 8th of each following month. It should be noted that our customer reviewed and signed the Insurance Premium Finance and Security Agreement which detailed the terms of his premium finance loan, including the amount and timing of when installment payments were due.

Our records further indicate that our customer mailed in 6 monthly payments of $100.00, received and posted to his account on June 4th, July 9th, August 7th, September 7th, October 5th, and November 9th, respectively, resulting in an overpayment on his account. While it is not clear why our customer mailed in payments in excess of the amounts due under his premium finance loan, his overpayment of $157.90 was refunded on December 31st.

On October 15, 2018, National General mailed our customer a notice that it was time to renew his insurance policy. In addition, on October 17, 2018, USAgencies mailed our customer a letter reminding that it was time to renew. While our customer previously renewed prior policies with us, we have no record of our customer attempting to renew his auto policy which was set to expire on November 19, 2018. As a result, our customer's policy expired, as scheduled, effective November 19, 2018, and on November 20th, National General mailed our customer a Notice of Expiration indicating that his auto policy lapsed effective November 19, 2018 at 12:01 AM due to policy expiration without renewal.

Our records further indicate that on the afternoon of December 6, 2018, our customer visited one of our Alabama insurance agency locations and purchased a new auto policy (Integon Indemnity Corporation - National General policy), effective December 6, 2018, with an expiration date of June 6, 2019. The total policy premium, including the policy fee, for the 6-month term was $732. The auto insurance policy provided minimum liability auto insurance coverage (25/50/25) on our customer's three vehicles. At the time the policy was issued, our customer elected to make a down payment and finance the remaining premium balance of $648.00, which required 5 monthly installments of $134.13, with his initial payment due on December 27, 2018, and the remaining payments due on the 27th of each following month. It should be noted that our customer reviewed and signed the Insurance Premium Finance and Security Agreement which detailed the terms of his premium finance loan, including the amount and timing of when installment payments were due. Our customer did not make his first installment due on December 27, 2018, and as such, a Notice of Cancellation was mailed to his address providing notice of policy cancellation. Our customer did not subsequently make his scheduled payment, and as such, his policy was cancelled by National General effective 12:01 AM on January 7, 2019. In additional, National General mailed our customer a Notice of Cancellation dated January 8, 2019.

Unfortunately, our customer's policy premium increased primarily as a result of our customer's failure to timely renew policy coverages. It should be noted that the premium charged for a policy's coverage is calculated and provided by the respective insurance company, and not by the insurance agency, and the rate charged is based solely on the specific insurance company's approved premium rates for the risks underwritten. Generally, insurance premiums are higher when auto coverages lapse and liability auto coverages are not maintained continuously.

As requested, a copy of our customer's payment history has been mailed to our customer. As the standard billing method, customers are provided payment coupons when an insurance policy is purchased. However, for customers who wish to access their account on-line, their account payment history is available once they setup an online account.

We have concluded from our records that all of the steps we normally take to ensure our customers fully understand policy coverage's, exclusions, as well as their responsibilities in maintaining and renewing their auto insurance, were, in fact, taken in this case. Additionally, our customer's overpayment was refunded in the normal course. As a result, we believe this matter to be fully resolved.

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DOWN TO THE MANAGEMENT. I PURCHASED AN INSURANCE POLICY WITH THEM AND HAD TO CANCEL THE VERY NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A REFUND TO MY DEBIT CARD FOR THE FULL AMOUNT AND WHEN THAT WAS NOT DONE I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CHECK FOR THE FULL AMOUNT SINCE THE POLICY WAS CANCELLED WITHIN 24 HOURS, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE REFUND. I THEN SPOKE WITH A REGIONAL MANAGER THAT STATED THAT A CHECK WILL BE ISSUED BUT FOR ALMOST $60.00 LESS THAN WHAT I PAID. EVERY REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE WITH TOLD ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT, THEY WOULD PUT ME ON HOLD FOR HOURS AT A TIME, EVERY REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE WITH HAD A VERY NASTY ATTITUDE, NOT HELPFUL, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL, AND JUST OUT RIGHT RUDE. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HANDLING PEOPLE WITH CAR INSURANCE ISSUES. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE COME ACROSS IN YEARS AND I STILL AM IN DISBELIEF O HOW I WAS TREATED. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN A 2 WEEK TIME SPAN AND I AM STILL DEALING WITH THE ISSUES AS WE SPEAK. I NEED A PROPER RESOLVE TO MY ISSUES AND HOPEFULLY THIS COMPLAINT THAT I AM MAKING WILL REACH THE RIGHT PERSON IN CHARGE SO THAT THIS ISSUE CAN BE HANDLED.
Product_Or_Service: CAR INSURANCE
Account_Number: LALXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

Refund I WOULD LIKE A FULL REFUND WHICH I FEEL I AM DUE BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SERVICES FROM THIS COMPANY AND BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A FULL REFUND.

Thanks for forwarding the above-referenced consumer complaint. USAgencies Low Cost Auto Insurance (which is an insurance agency, and referred to herein as "USAgencies") is proud of its long-standing reputation of providing exceptional service, and remains committed to its growing base of customers.

USAgencies Low Cost Auto Insurance operates solely as an insurance agency, and as such, is not affiliated with any individual insurance company. As an independent insurance agency, USAgencies offers auto insurance from several national and regional insurance companies.

A review of our records indicates that our customer, about noon on Monday, April 16, 2018, called USAgencies insurance agency to purchase auto insurance (Lyndon Southern Ins. Co. policy), effective April 16, 2018, with a policy expiration of October 16, 2018, providing 25/50/25 liability-only coverage on her 2014 Nissan Pathfinder and her 2001 Chevrolet Impala. The total policy premium, including the policy fee, for the 6 month term was $444. At the time our customer purchased her policy, she reviewed and e-signed insurance documents, including the Application for Automobile Insurance.

Our customer made a down payment on her policy and elected to finance the remaining premium, choosing to make five monthly installments, with the initial installment due on May 6, 2018, and the remaining installments due on the 6th of each of the following months.

Our records further indicate that on the morning of April 17, 2018, our customer visited the USAgencies Southern Bypass insurance agency location in Montgomery AL to request cancellation of her insurance policy; our customer signed an Insured Request to Cancel Policy, effective April 17, 2017. Our records indicate that our customer was advised at this time that the refund process, which requires obtaining the refunded premium from the third-party insurance company, normally takes about 3 to 4 weeks, and that the return of her funds to her debit card was only possible had she voided her policy the same day as her purchase. On April 24, 2018, our customer also electronically signed a request to cancel.

It should be noted that USAgencies is an insurance agency and, as such, places insurance with third-party insurance companies at customer's requests. Insurance premiums accepted from customers are remitted to the respective insurance company for policy coverage; requests for cancellation and the refund of premiums must be transacted first by the respective insurance company prior to issuing a refund by the insurance agency.

In the normal course, our customer was refunded on April 30th and May 3rd for refunds received on her behalf from third-parties. In addition, on May 15th, to show good faith, the agency refunded any fees and pro-rata premium not returned by the third-party insurance company; the agency will seek to recover these amounts from the third-party. We understand that this matter is now fully resolved.

Customer Response • May 30, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
They refunded me my money, even though it was not in the time frame that I was initially told but it was refunded.

I have been trying to call for the past 3 days and I have left voicemails. I still can not get no one to call me back. I literally have waited for 40 minutes on hold to try and get in touch with customer service. I don't live close to a usagencies, so I have to call some days. This is just a big inconvenience and joke.

USAgencies Response • Mar 09, 2018

I am so sorry your experience with us wasn't a good one. It was good, however, to speak with you and confirm that your customer service request was resolved. Customer service is a top priority of ours, and rest assured, we have taken the steps necessary to ensure this doesn't happen again. We know your time is valuable.

Thank you for taking the time to review our company.

US Agencies has not provided State Farm with the necessary information concerning loss history from prior insurance to enable them to complete and underwriting review.

Desired Outcome

Respond to State Farm's request for loss history
