Doesn't bring tools to do the job; coughed all over my house. Lousy customer service.

Sold us a fake "warranty". Kenneth *** is a con-artist.
Bought a used and repaired washer and dryer from Kenneth Smartt at Used Appliance Store in November 2017. On top of the purchase price, we also paid a $69 delivery fee, and purchased an $89 warranty that Kenneth told us "would cover everything" and was good for two years. He never showed us anything in writing. I asked for paperwork, and he always made an excuse about why he couldn't give it to me.

We were told the washer and dryer would be delivered on the Wednesday after we purchased them. Kenneth never showed up and never called. I called him late in the afternoon and he said he'd be there Friday. Friday came, and no Kenneth. Again I called and he said he couldn't make it that day with Friday traffic, and he would make the delivery the following Tuesday.

Tuesday comes - and guess what? This time, my boyfriend calls. Kenneth told him they ordered a new timer for the dryer, and it would be two weeks before it would be ready.

Kenneth didn't not communicate with me, for some reason.

After three no-shows, Kenneth delivers the washer and dryer in December. He told me he replaced the timer, but wasn't sure about it. He said, "keep an eye on it, and let me know if there are any problems." I responded that we would, especially since we purchased the warranty. I again asked for the paperwork, and he said he didn't have it. I was really concerned at this point, as he told my boyfriend he would give it to us when he delivered the products (even though he also asked for it as well).

We began to experience problems with the dryer's timer after a couple of months. I first called Kenneth on 6/22/2018 and left a voicemail. He did not call back. I called again 7/11/2018 and Kenneth answered. He said he would call me back. Kenneth called 7/12/2018 and asked a few questions, and said he would call me back with a day and time that he would come out. He did not call me back.

On 8/21/2018 I called and Kenneth answered. He had to call me back, but he did this time, and said he would come fix the timer for $89. I told him we already purchased the warranty. He said the $89 warranty was more like a deductible and this was explained at the time of purchase. This was NEVER explained. At the time of purchase, we asked questions about the warranty, and Kenneth specifically said the $89 warranty covered everything. When we did ask for paperwork and itemized receipts, Kenneth would not give it to us.

I asked Kenneth for a refund for the $89 warranty and he refuses. I said that as he knew the timer was problematic, and he even said so at the time of delivery - that he won't honor the warranty we paid for is unacceptable. He said he knows he explained how the warranty works, because he always does. I tried to tell him that he did not explain anything to me, or my boyfriend, other than "it covers everything", but he interrupted me each time. He began yelling at me. He told me, "I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. Have your husband call me". He eventually hung up on me.

This warranty was completely misrepresented. Frankly - it's a scam. I can see in reviews on Yelp where customers purchased an $89 four-year warranty. We were specifically told the warranty was for two years. He lied to us. This fake warranty is just another way to get another $89 in his pocket.

We were knowingly sold a problematic piece of equipment. We were scammed into buying a fake warranty. Kenneth *** is a con-artist. We want a refund for the $89.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $89.
