We have attempted to contact the patient regarding this matter on several occasions, leaving messages on two different telephone lines multiple times, with no returned calls.? Our office does offer a free consultation for potential cosmetic or self-pay surgical procedures, which would not be covered by a patient's insuranceWe offer free consults so patients who will eventually be paying out of pocket for their procedure, are not charged for a? consultation? regarding that? cosmetic procedure? When patients asks, or we inform them that their insurance may pay for a procedure, because it is not ? cosmetic, we then explain to them that we will bill their insurance for the initial visit sending in clinic notes and sometimes photos to prove medical necessityIf a patient says they have no intention of involving their insurance for a procedure we recommend, and they plan to pay for the procedure out-of-pocket regardless, we then proceed with the free consultationThis was explained to the patient in question at the time of their visit? After an evaluation, and determining that the procedure was definitely something that insurance would consider medically necessary, he/she gave us their insurance informationThe patient indicated they wanted their insurance to pay for the recommended procedureThe patient was also given additional medical advice and a prescription for medication to treat a conditionThere was never any insinuation that the patient wanted a cosmetic/self pay procedure performed? Our free consultation policy is for consultations ONLY? Once there is a procedure done or medication prescribed, it is no longer a? consultation, and? either? the? patient will then pay for the procedure, or schedule for a future date, or we bill insurance with the patients understanding? If the patient would do us the pleasure of returning one of our many messages, we are happy to explain this policy once again.?
