We are a Utilities Contractor for [redacted] and their Home Services’ Division. As our contractual terms with ** allow, we run one man crews to cover a wider area and bring additional...

help, only after initial inspections are completed and jobs are determined to require the second technician. We are bound by our contract to service customers in a timely manner but are not under any circumstances obligated to send our techs out in dangerous conditions for liability reasons.
The[redacted] initial claim came in on Monday evening, February 10th, and our Call Center scheduled the [redacted] for Wednesday, February the 12th. Our tech, [redacted], went to the customer’s home on Wednesday and found that the water heater was located in the attic and was determined to be a two man install. We rescheduled for the next day with [redacted] and a helper, however, due to the weather (snow and ice all over the northern half of North Carolina), we could not get our men to the home. When we explained that to the customer,[redacted] started swearing at our Call Center Rep, and threatened to go to the news, her attorney, etc. This must be the upshot of her threats.
I would add that there was never any mention of a “[redacted]” until this complaint was filed. All of our calls are recorded should you need verification of any of the above.
Since the complaint was filed, UPA installed a new water heater on February 15th for the [redacted] and, additionally, waived all upgrade costs ($250) which resulted in a significant loss to our firm. We now consider the matter closed.
