Beware of this doctor if you are seeking decompression treatment. This doctor uses scare tactics to push unnecessary expensive medical care and then will not return calls after you have received treatment. Terrible terrible service. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor.

since 2018 utmb has refused to treat pain no matter how serious your disease. New policy added, specialists no longer treat/discuss symptoms or side effects of any disease. They do require that you take tons of expensive tests, many very invasive so they can rip off medicare but test results are not considered in treatment and are not discussed. If you want to self monitor, you can use mychart to look up test results but dont expect the doctor to even look at it. they ran fertility tests on me without consent and lied to me saying a test they did was to find out what dose birth control I need. It turned out to be not a test at all but a procedure to harvest eggs. They assumed I would be ovulating but I wasnt so they demanded that I come back while ovulating and that I would have to take this test every year as long as I was fertile. So they planned on stealing eggs yearly. utmb is not the same as the past. it is a dangerous place with dangerous people running the place. Doctors/surgeons not trained in pain management and taught to ignore pain. Make sure your doctor has not been their graduate since 2018. They are untrained and even worse trained that pain is for whiners and quality of life does not exist.

anesthesia based on the time allotted (39 minutes) and was for 6 injections which is what was quoted. At the conclusion, 9 injections were performed which included the additional injections and extended anesthesia time (1.5 hours). The initial estimate was correct; however, the cost was higher based on the actual care provided.
