Refusal to communicate with applicants after receiving payment.
Submitted an application with Utz Property Management on March 11 and paid application fee of $38.50. Application was also filed by ***, who as well paid fee of $38.50. After not receiving any follow up, I called the Utz Property Management office, which again received no follow up. I emailed ***, in hopes to see what additional information was needed to complete my application and attempted to call twice with voicemails, all on different days following the March 11th application. No contact made by me was ever returned by *** or any member of the Utz team.
Mr. was also asked to pay an additional fee to the application for his dog. He was able to get in contact with *** sparingly between March 10th and 11th, only because he was given her direct information by another realtor. He had also attempted to contact her after the last contact on March 11th with no responses received.
When looking at the Utz Property Management, they have labeled themselves as
"Smart, Dedicated, and Committed to Service." This is not the experience we have recieved while attempting to work with the Utz Team.We have been disregarded and ignored in our search for a home, to add insult to injury we were charged a fee to be treated with such a blatant lack of customer service. I will refuse to work with this organization in the future and will do my part to make sure no other individual I know has to go through the same aggrivation.
Both myself and Mr. are asking for our application fee, as well as the pet fee charged to Mr., to be refunded. We paid the fee in anticipation of being able to speak with an agent about the potential of renting a listed property. After paying the fee, we were not given any responses by any member of the Utz Team. We were not even given a curtosy email or phone call to let us know if the property had been rented or there was a reason for the delayed response. It's inexcusable to charge people for a service and then refuse to communicate with them.
These people were working with a realtor. I was in direct communication with him along with ***. As *** is self employed he stated he didn't have W2's or paystubs. At that point, it is our policy to collect bank statements and verify proof of income. *** had no way to upload that information via email. He stated he would bring all of the paperwork to our office. I then followed up with their Realtor several times indicating I never received his documents. During that period, we had another application on the property and moved forward with renting the unit. (which I also notified the Realtor of) We do not hold a property for anyone, unless a lease is signed and funds are received.
Business was asked to add someone to lease. They charged $537.00 1/3 the rent. They based this on the lease. I told them to cancel. Still charged
Request sent to management company to add girlfriend to lease. I was told that it wouldn't be a issue. All she needed to do was go onto their site and apply for any property on their site. I was then asked to produce income documentation and then charged $500.00 for change. They stated this was in the lease, I stated this still should have been verbilzed at the beginning and not bought up at the end. I explained that I wanted the transaction cancelled and taken off my ledger. This has still not occured.
I want the charges reversed and the application fee refunded.
The tenant has a copy of his signed lease, which clearly outlines the costs associated with changing the lease. To say he was uninformed, is inaccurate. He already is in violation of his lease, by allowing his girlfriend to reside in the property without adding her to the lease.
