Response:
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to the customer concern you received from Mr. [redacted]. Our records show that on Saturday, June 8, 2013 , Mr. [redacted] called the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics (UWHC) Security Department to repoJi damage to his vehicle's wheel well , whi ch he claimed occurred the day prior (Friday, June 7, 2013) when he used our valet parking service. Our valet driver parked his vehicle; however, Mr. [redacted] retrieved the car himself from the lot later that evening, as valet services were closed. After a thorough evaluation of the infonnation provided to the Risk Management Department, including an internal investigation conducted by our Valet Manager and Security Director, we found no evidence supporting Mr. [redacted]'s complaint that the UWHC valet staff caused damage to his vehicle. In addition, it is important to note that our valet drivers distribute claim tickets to all vehicle owners, for whom they park a vehicle, which clearly states, "No liability is assumed by management for loss or damage by fire, theft, or any other cause to, or by the vehicle, while in custody of the management. Management will not be responsible for any incident reported after the vehicle has left the premises." A sample copy is attached for your reference. We evaluate each claim based on the evidence and take responsibility when the evidence clearly shows that we were responsible for damage to a vehi cle. Unfortunately, in this case, I found no evidence to substantiate his claim that we were responsible for causing the damage and, respectfully suggested that he report the claim to hi s company's automobile insurance carrier for assistance with the repair costs. Please contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
