The customer involved in the mentioned complaint was contacted shortly after an issue with her jacket was noticedThe full description of her jacket including color, size , manufacturer and date she dropped it at our store was providedShe said she had no such jacketI proceeded with a description of what we believe happened and that was that she either spilled a caustic/ damaging fluid on it or that the material was defectiveWe followed the care label which we often due but the jacket became shredded after cleaningI apologized that this happened and said it was unable foreseeable since we did not know what had been spilled on it and had followed the care labelI did mention that my intent was to treat her fairly so I provided a store credit equivalent to what I felt was the value of the jacketShe was not concerned at the time since she apparently felt like this was not her jacket even though I provided extensive descriptions as well as the invoice number that she had at our store for itI suggested to her she needed to take it back to the manufacturer for replacement or refundThe store credit remains on her account and is equivalent to the replacement cost of the jacket even though this was not fault of ours
