I, Armand M***, General Manager of V Nanfito Roofing and Siding immediately called the customer and went to the residence to as the leakUpon my assessment there is no leak, there was a previous stain in the ceiling prior to us doing the roof that now dried and discolored furtherThe
homeowner is happy with my findings, I gave him my cell phone number so if he has any issues he can call me directlyHe assured me he will contact the Revdex.com to mark this complaint as resolved

Our agreement stipulates the work be done on Saturday July 12th
There has
been an offer of settlement depending the performance of workThe dispute remains open until after the work is satisfactory

We have met with Mr*** and have completed everything according to our contract. We explained that an initial error in ordering material snow balled. At this point I believe that Mr*** is satisfied and will be withdrawing this complaint. We found him to be
very understanding once all was explained and completed

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: The leak did not occur until days after the roof was put onHe called me and came out after the complaint was filed with the Revdex.comWhen he came out he said it could be from the vent going to the roof If it was sealed properly it should not be leakingHe said it was a dark stain , I than told him that it has gotten wet a couple of times since the first leak days after the roof was put onHe said we would work together to get this resolvedI thought he was going to have someone come out and check the seal around the vent pipeI did say I would get with the Revdex.com to say we were working together to get this resolvedSo when I went on to do this I read what was written as a response from the business .He says there was a stain prior to doing the roof there was not and this was not said on that day he was here

Our office called to arrange a time to collect payment and ensure your satisfaction.  During this time it came to light of the side deal made with the salesman directly.  Understanding the frustration, we agreed to send out a different salesman and arrived that Saturday - as promised - and did an outstanding job.

The was a misunderstanding in our office as to the schedule for this repair work to be completed. We are scheduled to repair this work on Saturday July 12, 2014 as requested by the customer.

We have come to agreement with the customer and have scheduled to complete the repair work on July 9, 2014.

Very dissatisfied with the phone interaction I had trying to get an estimate setup. Contractor was high balling an estimate before even inspecting the work that needs to be done. Very argumentative and seemed to want to take advantage of me being a female. I was surprised that they were reluctant to take a look at the house before estimating the work. Due to the poor attitude I found I could not work with this company.

The bathroom has several stains on the ceiling that were there prior to us doing the roof. While on site the homeowner and I could not determine where the "leak" is coming from. I told the homeowner to call me if it becomes active but in my opinion it is steam causing this as all the stains are in the shower area. I will service the customer if the "leak" becomes active and our work is the cause.

Review: We had V.Nanfito Roofing come at the very end of October 2013 to do our roof. They ripped off the old roof and only replaced one section of plywood on the roof before putting ice and water and shingles they left the rest of the rotted wood and just shingled over it. In Febuary we had leaks on our back porch, bedroom and attic crawl space. Contacted them and they checked it out said they cant do anything till spring. We had gotten insurance involved for inside damage. The insurance adjuster had another roofing company come out and check the damage on the roof and said the whole back needs to be replaced and that alot of those brand new shingles are damaged. [redacted] the General Manager came again to look at the damage saw how buckled the back roof is from the old rotted plywood and kept saying he is gonna take care of his customer and fix it and he has yet to do so. On, May 11, the roofing crew came out to the house to fix the roof they said they dont need a dumpter ( so where will all the shingles and rotted wood go?) and the guy was going to only replace a 1 ft by 1 ft section and shingle over it and we have 3/4" plywood and they want to use 1/2". we have been trying to get in contact with [redacted] since May 11th, he has answered the phone once and said they are really busy and he doesnt know what is gonna happen yet. we have tried multiple times since and so has the insurance adjuster and he doesnt take our calls.Desired Settlement: The roofers need to come back strip the roof the right way replace the plywood and re-put on the ice and water and shingles. We paid to have this done right. They dont feel they should have to pay for it when it was there mistake it should have been done right the first time.

Review: I had the Flo-Free Leaf-Guard installed in June15,2009. I had to call them the next day to re-install sections that had not been installed properly. That Fall(XXXX) I had to call [redacted] because the Leaf-Guard had leaves and pine needles accumulated in the gutters, so they sent out someone to remove the debris. I also had to call for the Fall of 2010 and 2011 for the same reason, and they sent out someone to remove the debris. In 2012 when I called Armand Martinez(the staff member that I had been working with in prior years too) told me he would have to come up with a more permanent solution. No one was sent out that year and because of a pending storm, I unclogged the gutter myself.(The Flo-Free Leaf-Guard has a lifetime warranty)I called Mr. Martinez on June 28, 2013 to see what permanent solution he reached and reminded him that no one came out to clear the gutters in the Fall of 2013. He hung up on me and when I called again seconds later I only got his voice mail. My wife called on another extension and Mr. Martinez answered and hung up again after he found out that it was the same household.I would like the Leaf-Guard installed properly so that I do not have to unclog the gutters as was advertised, and guaranteed by my warranty, or my 1,500 dollars refunded so I can apply it to a leaf-guard system that actually works.

I am also open to see if [redacted] has suggestions for a solution.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/07/15) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT ACCEPT the response from the business.)

I sent attachments of the Leaf Guard brochure to [redacted] which refuted the warranty claim. I sent this response to [redacted] Siding re: there response and attachments:"I looked at your attachments, the e-mail you sent dated Jan. 6, 2013 was sent to to: e meyewww@ sbcglobal.net is not my e-mail address, my wife's e-mail address is [redacted]@sbcglobal.net. I have enclosed the brochure to the claim page to show that it says it would prevent pine needles from clogging the gutter. (Underscored by me). Also the pine trees were presenton my property when I purchased the product, and I asked if it would prevent pine needle accumulation and I was told unequivocally that it would. I called to have the product placed correctly the day after it was appliedto my guttersbecause I personally got on a ladder to inspect the job that was done and discovered that there were gaps in theLeaf Guard application,so your workmen had to return to apply adhesive the material where they had not originally. Your sending men out to unclog the gutter was not"above and beyond the call of duty", it was another attempt to cover for the products shortcoming. I would not have purchased the FloFree if I knew I had to continue to clean my gutters, that would be a foolish purchase and waste of money, and as a retired veteran and State worker, it is not money I have to throw away. Your statements about" no company can keep my gutters from clogging" is at best unfounded and an evasive statement. If as much energy was put into living up to your agreement and customer satisfaction as you are putting to avoid doing the right thing, I would not have to continuously write you. I am also attaching the pictures I sent you to expedite sending your men to unclog the gutters". I believe the pictures they showed in black in white were the ones I had originally sent in color to motivate them to unclog my gutters. I will be happy to provide the same attachments to this Revdex.com site.

Review: Company office ordered incorrect material per the contract for the first attempt at installing a new roof.

Installation crew received the incorrect material and installed it on October 29th. The installation crew had arrived around 8:30AM that day but the material ordered by the office had not been delivered yet, nor had the dumpster arrived, so I could not inspect the material prior to the crew started work and before I left for work.

When the material arrived later that day, installation crew removed old roof, covered four 9 inch X 9 inch holes in the roof left behind when the original vents were removed from the roof with thin aluminum flashing and covered the flashing with new shingles. The installation crew did not have enough material delivered for them to do the job correctly. Installation crew installed 15 lb. roofing felt (the material that was ordered for them by the office and delivered to our house the day of the original installation). Contract was for “[redacted]” underlayment instead of felt paper. Installation crew had only the felt paper to install and not enough sheathing to repair the holes in the roof left behind by the old vents.

We informed the Salesman [redacted] of the incorrect material used and the covering of the 4 holes. [redacted] investigated, called us back promptly and told us that he left these two issues in charge with the office manager. [redacted] indicated company would resolve the problems.

The office did not call us back to resolve for 5 weeks so we then called the [redacted] Building Inspector to review the 4 holes in the roof covered by aluminum flashing. Building inspector informed us that the new roofing needs to be installed over a solid surface. Building inspector called the contractor and spoke with [redacted].

A few days after Building inspector called contractor, company called us to schedule the removal of newly installed roof and replacement of new roof correctly for Monday Dec. 8th and that a supervisor ** would be there to oversee the work.

We waited until 10:30AM that day Monday. No one arrived. Company called and claimed that due to bad weather coming (Tuesday) company had to reschedule for Friday.

I left for work after hearing from the company that they would not be coming on Monday Dec. 8th.

About 1:30PM on that Monday Dec 8th my wife called saying someone was banging on the house. The installation crew showed up on Monday even though the office called and rescheduled for Friday Dec. 12th. No one from the office called to explain to the change in plans.

When we ask the installation crew lead installer why he showed up when the company said it would be Friday, installer said that the company pulled him from our job on Monday AM to address another customer issue, not due to the weather as we were told by the office. Installer said he finished that other job early and the company then sent the crew to our house. So we are not sure who was being untruthful with us, the office manager who said he needed to reschedule due to the next day’s rain or the installer. We have no reason to suspect the installer as that crew is going to do whatever the office tells them to do.

The supervisor, **, from the office never came to the house on Dec. 8th to oversee the installation crew as he indicated he would on the phone.

Because the installation crew came late in the day on Dec. 8th, the re-roofing job could not be finished that day either.

The material ordered by the office for the second visit to re-do the roof again was not sufficient.

The installation crew ran out of shingles that had been delivered to our house for them by the office.

Also the office did not re-order a ridge vent that was needed to re-do the re-roofing job. Also, the office did not order any nails for the installation crew to do the re-roofing.

Tuesday Dec 9th ** from the office called in the afternoon and left a message and asked if we were satisfied with the job. Really? ** still did not did not know that the installation crew could not finish the job a second time due to insufficient and missing materials ordered by the office.

6 weeks later, roof is still not completed to the contract after two visits by the company. Typically a re-roofing job by a competent contractor takes one day for a house of our size. Enough said.

The company may be able to correct the installation issues but what needs to be fixed is how the office manages the jobs, reviews contracts , orders material, and communicates with the installation crew and the office needs to respond in a more timely manner to real customer issues and must be truthful with its customers. This cannot be corrected simply by correcting the installation mistakes.

We have no complaints with the installation crew, they had to work with the materials they were given. We also have no complaints with the sales person.
