Dear Revdex.com:This patient was seen in our office in 2014, after not having his teeth cleaned in a very longtimeHe complained of bad breath and bleeding gums and had very heavy tartar buildupWe explained to him that to get his gums healthy we needed to first do a debridement procedure to remove the
heavy tartar, then get him back for some periodontal deep cleaningsHe had the debridement done that day and never returned for the deep cleanings.He next came in to the office three years later complaining again of bleeding gums and bad breathWe explained to him that his gums were back in a bad state again because he never returned for the appropriate treatment, and that we needed to start from Scratch and do another debridement, then periodontal cleaningsWe could not just "complete the procedure" that was started years agoHe was, as he said, "charged twice" for the procedure because he needed the procedure twice because he never showed for the recommended cleanings and only came back again after years.Despite the fact that the doctor, as a courtesy, wrote off half of the periodontal cleaning charges because his insurance policy was not active at the time, he still complained and believed he was wrongly charged twiceThe office manager tried to explain all this to the patient and states she never used the words "take it or leave it"The doctor attempted to call the patient to address his concerns but he never returned the doctor's call.Sincerely, DrDonald Vafides
