Valerie's African Hair Braiding

I am writing this review as a WARNING to all the Sistas that tend to utilize African Hair BraidersI NEVER solicit African Braiders because they tend to look down upon us American Black women...as if we have NEVER had our hair braided before, or don't know what we want-even after telling them EXACTLY what we want, or just plain RUDE NASTY and DISHONEST in their prices and business dealings! Valerie (the shop owner) is no exception! She set up my family member this morning, after having set the appointment a day before WITH CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF DESIRED HAIR LENGTH (LOWER BACK), SET PRICE ($150), AND SERVICE (only braider doing the service)
Now, once my family member arrived this morning to get her hair braided...Valerie (the shop owner) wanted to play mind games and act as if he had sudden amnesia to the previous agreement from just a day priorThe price was suddenly $160, then became $200, and ended at a ridiculous amount of $400...to which my family member basically let her know she could kick rocksIt was apparent that this was an underhanded, pre-devised plan and that Valerie (the shop owner) never wanted my family member's businessBut instead of just saying such the day before...she went along and acted like the service would be given the next day, as my family member desired...with no problemSo, bottom line: Valerie is a CROOKED BUSINESS WOMAN AND A BOLD FACED LIAR!
Save yourself the time and headache, as I always do, and AVOID this shop...and any other AFRICAN HAIR SHOPThey don't respect you, your time, your hair desires, or your hard earned money as a Black American womanWe have enough issues dealing with everyday living...don't let a braider/hairstylist add to those woesFind you a Black American Sista (craigslist) who will do your hair from her home, like I do...it's half the cost and your hairstyle will last twice as longWhy settle for rude, mediocre African braiders?! I never have and never will! And in the end...everyone reaps what they sow! You put out ugliness and ugliness will return unto you! AVOID THIS SHOP...IT'S FILLED WITH UGLINESS!
